is anyone else having any abdominal pain? i keep getting a dull pain in my lower left abdomen. it isn't super painful, just a bit of a worry. of course i looked it up online and have convinced myself i have an ectopic pregnancy. i tend to get all worked up about things like this and then they end up being nothing. any help would be much appreciated.

Welcome Nannymcphee and wantababynow and meleebaby.

aprilmeadow - how are you now - was it just a bug?

nannymchpee - my due date is 3 May and my DDs are 10 and 6.

Feeling ok at mo just tired!

aprilmeadow · 29/08/2006 10:09

Jess - it is probably just stretching pains. If in doubt you could always speak to a Midwife. Perhaps you could try adn find a lady on MN called Mears - she is a MW and is always giving advise.

STA - i definately think it was a bug - phew!!! I do still have waves of sickness but no different now to when i was pg with my ds, only this time it seems to have started earlier.

Meeley - sorry forgot to say congrats and welcome

SKYTVADICT · 29/08/2006 12:24

Jess - I have dull aching feeling occasionally too.

I don't know whether to make an appointment with GP or just an 8 week appointment with midwife. GP won't do anything other than tell me to make the midwife appointment I am sure.

What are you all doing?

jessinwa · 29/08/2006 15:48

skytv, i don't have a midwife. here in the states you choose between using a midwife or an obgyn. last time i chose an obgyn because the ladies in my family have had a history of difficult childbirth and i wanted to be sure to have my baby in a hospital, just incase. i have an appointment with my doctor on sep 22, but i don't know if i can wait that long. as soon as i relaxed and put my feet up last night the pain got so much better. what worries me is that the pain is only on one side but i have not had a spot of blood so i think i am going to just call my doctor's office and see what they want me to do. i am sure it is nothing. isn't it amazing how much we can worry about our little beans?
aprilmeadow, what a relief that you aren't sick anymore but poor you having morning sickness already. and thanks for the advice, i think i will track down mears later this afternoon.

I have booked my mw appt for Monday 18th Sept at 1.45! some how seems more real now

aprilmeadow · 29/08/2006 19:43

i am soo cross!!!

All my family seem to be really pleased about the new baby, but dh family dont seem fussed at all. Just seen his aunt who didnt even ask how i was or say congrats - dh told her earlier when i was at work.

It just makes me cross. I say congrats to people i dont even know here on MN. Its exciting and not like i am asking them to have the baby for me or look after it once it is born.

AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH

Rant over - breath , 5,6,7,8.....

I would be cross too aprilmeadow! Bloody in laws!!!

Saying that, my new ones are very nice (old ones a pain the arse though but thats a different thread!)

DP is round his sisters at the mo telling her our news.

SKYTVADICT · 29/08/2006 20:10

PS - you were sooooooooo cross you sed it twice

SKYTVADICT · 30/08/2006 11:31

I have made my first checking in appointment to see a midwife for 18 September.

I won't quite be 8 weeks but I have a question for them about rhesus compatability. I asked the question on mn after previous miscarriage and am happy with the answer I got but need to check out with the midwife. DP and I are both A+ but his mum and neice are AB-. I wanted to know if the previous baby that miscarried could have been AB- and that was the reason it miscarried. The answer I got from mn was apparently it could have been AB- but that would not have been a problem as there is only a problem if the mum is - and the baby is + not the other way round. Want to ask the midwife early though. Trying to cover all possibilities!

Tyakit · 31/08/2006 19:59

Hi all,

I have just got back from a family holiday in Slovakia and started to think I might be PG while over there. I did 3 tests, all feint positives but as I couldn't read the Slovak instructions and the tests were about 50p each I wasn't too convinced. Have now done 2 First Response tests and both quite clearly BFPs!!

I have one DD aged 3.5 and oddly today she asked me for a baby brother! Maybe she is psychic as we haven't mentioned anything to her.

Still stunned as he tried for no.2 last year with no luck and had decided not to try again until next year. At least I definately know I am due on the 8th May as there is only 1 possible date of conception!!

I haven't really told anyone except DH and MIL as I have had MCs in the psat and its still early days. Hoping for baby glue this time....

lynsey24 · 31/08/2006 20:35

ive just found out im 4 weeks gone so I guess im in this cool group with all you guys and i am completly terrified!

lynsey24 · 31/08/2006 20:35

This will be my first. Any other first timers out there?

jessinwa · 31/08/2006 22:46

welcome lynsey24 and tyakit!!! and congratulations!
i wrote a super long, detailed post about what is going on with me and my bean last night and then closed the browser before i posted it. then i couldn't be bothered to re-write it because i was so tired. here is a quick round up -
my cramping is gone, but a new shoulder pain is pretty bad. i had a blood test yesterday and it came back great (plenty of hcg) but they want me to come in for a scan tomorrow just to make sure all is well in there. i don't mind because i am having such a hard time wrapping my little brain around the fact that i am already pregnant again. maybe the scan will help make it a reality. that is pretty much it. the post i wrote last night was way longer, but maybe i was just blabbing.
aprilmeadow, so sorry about your inlaws. perhaps when you really start to show they will come around.
skytvadict, i know nothing about rh +/-. i guess we will all learn more about it after your appointment.
i hope you are all feeling well, eating lots of good food and resting as much as you can. i know i am trying to!

Hi Jessinwa, thanks for the welcome.

I am resting a lot as I feel really tired. Am amazed how quickly these symptoms are appearing this time round - my boobs seem to be fuller already!!

Nicola63 · 01/09/2006 10:43

I am joining here tentatively, I am very nervous and unable to be sure things will proceed, as I ahve had 2 m/c's in the last 18 months. So I am just poppingin to say hello to others at thi stage and hope I will become a regular here.

Hi there again SkyTV, Hope things are going well for you!

SKYTVADICT · 01/09/2006 10:44

Welcome Tyakit and lynsey -

my boobs are sore already too but mostly towards the end of the day and I get various aches and pains. The boobs and tiredness the only symptons so far though.

aprilmeadow · 01/09/2006 12:25

Welcome Tyakit and lynsey and Nicola. How exciting this little group is slowly getting bigger!!

Jess - am glad that the cramping has gone and hope the scan goes well - you will be the first to see your little beanie

Today i am wearing a pair of maternity jeans - yes thats right MATERNITY!! I look far more pregnant than 5 + weeks. People keep asking if i am sure of my dates and perhaps there could be more than 1 inside!!

Told my bosses the other day and they were really supportive and have offered me the chance of coming back on a 1-2 day a week basis. I was really stunned as they werent too keen on me cutting down to 4 days after i had ds. They told me they didnt want to lose me so they would find a way round it.

Just tucking into a nice healhy salad. Oh i am being so good!! I am being fairly careful as i put on 3st with ds and only lost 2.5st. I dont want to put on as much this time as it was so hard to lose.

Hope everyone is well xx

lynsey24 · 01/09/2006 13:21

hi everybody. Thanks for the welcome. Im completly new to all this and Im feeling really overwhelmed by being pg! I dont think I quite belive it yet. Im tired and weeing almost constantly and its driving me crazy.

does anyone else have a super human sense of smell or am i just going nuts!
Hope your all ok....x

SKYTVADICT · 01/09/2006 13:54

I don't have a sense of smell normally but I do have a bit of one now.

And I am weeing loads!!

SKYTVADICT · 01/09/2006 13:56

It does seem unreal being pregnant, I know what you mean.

I am going out loads this weekend and don't really want to drink so will be driving and everyone will be wondering why.

DP's sister guessed apparently because he told her earlier in the week I would be driving to a family party on sat night and she know I like a drink so asked him outright!

lynsey24 · 01/09/2006 14:14

skytvadict I know exactly what you mean im ment to be going out tonight and wont be drinking. I think i will use the old line of im on antibiotics or something so I dont get asked any questions. I dont want to tell my family or friends yet. Im still adjusting to the idea of being a mum, it hits me and I suddenly think shit shit shit. Plus its a nice little secret me and my fella have just for ourselves.
I feel like a sniffer dog or something. Im tempted to clean my flat top to bottom. ahh whats the matter with me...

aprilmeadow · 01/09/2006 14:40

Oh dear the nesting instinct is kicking in already for you Lyndsey!!

i have just ordered a belly belt that buttons into your regular trousers and means that you dont have to wear maternity clothes until you are much bigger

lynsey24 · 01/09/2006 14:57

thats good thinking aprilmeadow. Im looking podgy already. Im mushrooming over my jeans!!
