I have nausea but no sickness. Am worried. But my boobs are about to turn to concrete lol. I reckon go am 4+6

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/04/2014 11:35

Five weeks today for me, according to my calculations :) when I get to 6 weeks I hope I'll be less paranoid - I convinced myself I could smell blood last night, I'm driving myself mad :( hope everyone's well? I'm back to work today and managed to sneak a lot of sitting down so far :P

StetsonsAreCool · 23/04/2014 11:36

I had no ms with DD. My friend otoh was on tablets as her sickness was so bad.

Another friend was hospitalised with HG with both her boys. I think you either get sick or you don't. And it's either bad or it isn't. It depends on the person/pregnancy.

Went to see the doc yesterday to get the ball rolling. I've got to go back next week but I'm not sure whether that's my booking in or not Confused

I mentioned the cramps ive been getting. He had a feel of my abdomen and said if it was anything sinister then he'd expect me to be in pain when he poked around. It was fine though so I feel a bit better about that. Still a bit paranoid that it's all been a bit easy so far...

PolytheneGirl · 23/04/2014 11:51

Eek I've just remembered that last time I was pg I had to see the midwife at the childrens centre down the road from my Mom's house and within a few days both my parents and my DB had been asked by random people if I was pg! It was ok last time as I'd told my nearest and dearest v early on. What if it happens this time? My DM would be devastated to find out from someone else! having a small panic attack now! Confused

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 23/04/2014 12:35

Hi everyone haven't posted over Easter as been busy renovating our house! A bit more quickly now we are having a baby! I had my first midwife appt on Tuesday I was so nervous it was silly! But mostly because I HATE needles and blood tests. I managed to get out of it as I was petrified and said I would prefer to go to the hospital and do it. They are experts. Plus I always faint an I HATE that feeling! But it's going to have to be done I know!! So it's been put off till my next day off in 2 weeks time! And then The midwife is coming to see me at home when I'm about 11+2. She said I would get a letter for the first scan and that it would be between when I'm 11.5 and 13.5 weeks. I hope it's not the latter!!!

monkeybaby2 · 23/04/2014 15:12

Hi all, new one sneaking onto the thread. EDD here is 9-14 Dec with DC2. my nearest and dearest know, but as I had to fly out to the US for work basically the day after this pg was confirmed I've had to confess to a few close colleagues so I didn't get publicly rumbled! Would have been so much easier if I could have hidden at home....

Ladylel · 23/04/2014 16:33

OH decided I needed to go to walk in centre after I told him I was fine but better to be safe than sorry. Got told I had a virus and I can't take anything except paracetamol unless otherwise told by doctors. And to rest and drink plenty of fluids. Just feel constantly faint and dizzy even when I've eaten and drunk and had a lay down. Where I currently am now,.
First midwife next week. Seems to be coming round so quickly.
Constantly feel exhausted ATM, just so tired and like all my limbs are heavier than usual. :/ bluergh.
Sending positive thoughts and vibes to those in need right now xxx

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 23/04/2014 16:40

Hi all. Can I join? Found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago after going to Drs with abdominal pain and tiredness. They missed it twice, I think because I went in the afternoon. I am 37 (yesteray) and thought I couldnt have my own kids. Have two Dsses who we have at weekends and holidays. Timing is shit. I am half way through a pt MSc which I have waited years and taken a loan put to do, and am only half way through my probation period in a one year contract at work. Timing is terrible... I am really scared, exhausted, nauseous and excited all at once. Goinng for dating scan in a week. Last period wasnt normal so could be 9 weeks....

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 23/04/2014 16:43

Sorry for stilted writing! Writing on my phone and its dead hard to put all my very complicated feelings into writing with teeeny little letters....

Ladylel · 23/04/2014 17:05

Hi Bighairy :) congrats and welcome.
I know the feeling about posting via phone. Grr.
Also timing is our issue, getting married next month I'll be 12 weeks by then, also financial issues so moving back in with my parents after the wedding, talk about stress although it could be worse x

DrewsWife · 23/04/2014 17:09

Had to go buy myself a new bra today. So went from 34G to 36HH in 4 days.

Hubby thinks it's brill. I am just in agony. Bra fitting was brilliant though.

Stupidly went to M&S who put me at 42D.

Good lord, the bus was not kind to me this afternoon Confused think I'll be staying late and waiting for a lift from DH in future. Bleurgh!

PolytheneGirl · 23/04/2014 17:34

Good god! I've been craving buttery crumpets with loads of marmite all day. So DH brought some crumpets in for me, I scoffed two and now I wish I hadn't! Bleurgh!!

Treaclepie19 · 23/04/2014 17:35

Haha, I had vinegar on my chips. Quite a bit... then worried that I might not be ok to eat so much vinegar!

PolytheneGirl · 23/04/2014 18:40

I'm off vinegar! I can't even think about it! Boak!!

espa · 23/04/2014 20:00

Can someone tell me what happens at first midwife appt? Hubby wants to come with me but I wasnt sure it'd be that exciting, i.e. just taking details, etc. I'll be 7 weeks when I have appt.

PolytheneGirl · 23/04/2014 20:12

4 years ago when I had mine I first had to go to a group meeting with the midwife and they just really introduced themselves and gave you loads of info to take away. Then at my actual booking appointment it was stuff like, height, weight, BP, and questions about medical history, they will ask for your medical history, your family's, plus your partner's and his family.

DrewsWife · 23/04/2014 20:12

I booked mine yesterday. Receptionist told me. Blood pressure, height and weight (any ideas how I can drop 3 stone) and urine test. Take urine in a white top bottle I've to get from chemist. Told me it takes an hour for first appointment.

Kittykatmacbill · 23/04/2014 20:17

espa the first midwife appoint for my dd, is mostly form filling, various blood and pee (I think) tests. So not very exciting...

But, they did ask quite a few questions on dh's medical history. Which I was glad he was there to answer.

In general I would say if you dh can attend it is really nice, as like all medical visits it involved a lot of waiting and if they are going to tell you something awful it's better that dh is there too. (not that going to obvs, but just in case)

espa · 23/04/2014 21:10

Okay, thanks guys. :) Appt is just round corner from his work so it's eady for him to come along.

In other news someone visiting my office today asked if I was pregnant and indicated towards my tummy. I'm only 5 weeks, I can't be showing yet! Unfortunately I do seem to put on weight to my tummy and haven't been able to run for over a year so I'm hoping that's just why...going to be hard to hide if it's that obvious already!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/04/2014 22:31

I'm feeling really paranoid tonight. No idea why as nothing has happened and I don't feel different. I've had some on/off pains in my tummy but they're more niggly than painful, more like annoying twinges. Got to stay positive! I can't get comfortable lying on either side, and I think that's making me grouchy because I'm so tired and can't sleep on my back. Grr!

StetsonsAreCool · 23/04/2014 22:34

Oh, so it sounds like I'm having my booking in next week then based on that DrewsWife. The doctor gave me a white top bottle and told me to bring it with me.

6 weeks seems early, I'm sure I didn't have it til about 10-11 weeks last time... oh well! Smile

Espa, it's funny how sometimes people can just get a sixth sense about stuff like that! DH came to the booking in when I was pg with DD, but I don't think he will this time. They'll already have our family medical history from last time, so I think this time will be just more of the immediate stuff. And I think the novelty has worn off for him this time... meh.
