Help.. Ladies have any of you had any spotting/blood when wiping after a wee? I'm 10+2 today and for the first time have had blood when I wipe. I rang the epu at the hospital but they aren't open till Sunday but they have put me down to be contacted but she said to not go to a and e unless it's very heavy bleeding with cramping. I'm so worried! I thought getting to 10 weeks was a good sign that everything would be fine :(

Try not to worry emily, like they say unless it's bright red and with pain it's generally ok :)

I had spotting early on.

Hi ruby welcome to the joys of the first trimester, I'm knackered and useless too.

emily i had some spotting last night and this morning @ 9+1, went to EPU and all is fine, it's very common and doesn't mean anything, I know how worrying it is though. I hope you manage to relax until they see you.

Thanks paranoid! Good to be talking to others in the same boat :-)

Saw mw for first time today. She's going to arrange for me to see a consultant as last year I had minor surgery on my cervix after abnormal cells were detected at my smear test. She doesn't think it will affect the pregnancy or labour, but wants me to see him to be on the safe side.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend, I'm so glad its friday!

6+4

Hi emily
Well done for doing the right thing.
I have had spotting of brown blood since the beginning and ended up going to the AE naively and spent the whole day only to make myself feel worse. They just ignore you- plus it was a Saturday.
All you need is the early scan. However, I've been on bed and sofa rest this week because of the spotting. This was recommended by GP and other doctors to try and calm it down a bit. It's hard but just take it easy is my advice until the scan. Feet up if you can and do as little as poss.
All the best
Sx

Hi Emily, I agree, can you get an early scan just to set your mind at ease?

Hi ziggystarducks so sorry to hear about the twin on your scan You must be full of mixed emotions. My SIL went through the same thing but please console yourself with the fact that she now has the most robust, beautiful 1-year-old little girl. I think this is actually pretty common and I've read that a lot of us start of as a twin. This is something that we probably wouldn't have been aware of in the past but with medical advances we can know so much so early now. I hope that you and your DP are coming to terms with it and really looking forward to the arrival of your little bundle of joy. Take care.
