And what is THIS??? Sharp pains in my Vagina??? Not in my uterus, not in my ovaries but in my VAGINA! I didn't sign up for stabbing vagina pain! At least not for a good long while...

It's my first baby. Like Shanels I had given up. It's a miracle but oh my, the ever changing symptoms! I'm growing extra tufts of head hair too...

Shanels - Ours (Womens in Brum) does it all at the same time too. I have three weeks to wait and stress about it. When's yours? Would it help with the hospital thing to think that you are not there for you, but there for the baby.. and take it in small steps. Maybe take a trip to the hospital when you don't have an apt so there's no pressure on you and nothing being "done" to you if you see what I mean?

Well done for tackling it.

Hi peacelove and dotty! I'm just a day behind you dotty, so I really hope I get my letter soon. It's nice to have things to work towards!! Cannot wait to see wee wriggly legs!!

ChineseFireball · 09/05/2014 05:46

Another "older" preggo here. I'm 38 just now. I'm thinking that is part of the reason I am feeling like I've been hit by a truck most of the time! I'm sure it wasn't this bad last time Grin

My nausea is fairly constant now although no actual vomiting other than the other week when I had a bug. I thought it was MS vomming to begin with but fortunately not. It is definitely better when I've just eaten.

We will be having the NT screening and if the results come back as high risk we will be having further testing. After that I don't know yet but will cross that bridge when we come to it. Last time the results came back as 1:66,000 which was really good but that doesn't necessarily mean anything for this little bean.

Hope you all have lovely plans for the weekend!

Another 'not a pregnant belly' fatty here too. Thankfully it's getting warmer so those maxi dresses will be getting worn to death. (Ignoring the shite weather yesterday of course).
hairy yes yes yes on the stabbing vag pains! I've had them the past week, wait till shooty bum pain starts too... I yelp when it happens as it surprises me that much.
All the pregnant girls then give me a knowing look and utter the immortal phrase 'oh it's just the beginning' ha!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 09/05/2014 07:01

Ahhh minion. Thank you. I am glad it is normal and I dont have an aberrant vagina or anything. Bum pains like shooting spasms that take your breath away and you can do nothing but go "oooo arghhh shit!" until they pass? I know those too. Angry

Happy Friday everyone. Nearly another week ticked off!

KateJ28 · 09/05/2014 07:29

Thank god it's Friday!!!!

And vagina pains....?!? Nice to know the pleasures that are still to come! Hadn't heard of that one!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 09/05/2014 08:54

Urgh BigHairy you nasty!

natashaarr · 09/05/2014 09:04

Hi all, scans at 12 but I was just wondering has anyone else had an early scan at around 6-8 weeks and did you get a picture? Because my friend said that when she went for a 8 week scan they said she couldn't have a picture because it's too early but then google says some people got a picture at 6 weeks so I'm confused! Very nervous this morning and dreading it as I can feel it isn't good news but I don't want to be positive and get my hopes up as I was devastated last time! I'll let you all know how I get on this afternoon! Have a good morning :)

nickyjlees · 09/05/2014 09:12

Good luck natashaarr! I'm sure all will be fine :)

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 09/05/2014 09:15

Vaginal varicose veins! Things can always get a lot more sexy in pregnancy!

Still haven't booked on with midwife, our gp ha a no buggy policy and the idea of carting a 10m & a 2yr old in for a non-emergency stresses me out! Dh is in different shifts next week so will do it then.

What's everyone got planned for the weekend?

PresidentSpreadable · 09/05/2014 09:24

Good luck natasharr. I felt exactly the same if it's any consolation. I was scanned at 7+4 and did get a picture, showing the minuscule flicker of the heart.

No shooting vag pain here, although a friend was delighting me with tales of the varicose veins she developed 'down there'. Ugh.

dottytablecloth · 09/05/2014 09:26

The glamour of pregnancy Sad I was up in the middle of the night vomiting last night.

This DID NOT happen last time.

Fed up with the sickness now.

dottytablecloth · 09/05/2014 09:28

Am 9+4 and have lost 10 lbs so far, I know this will all go on but I'm feeling I look like death at the minute.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 09/05/2014 09:29

I was scanned at eight weeks. I wouldnt have got a picture but the lovely sonographer printed me off one free because I couldnt believe it was real and needed something to proove it!

Shanels · 09/05/2014 09:34

Welcome back paranoidcoventgarden! We are of similar dates- I'm 9 +2 today.

natasha Because of spotting, I had a 6 week scan and saw a heartbeat. However, a picture of that will show you very little. The flicker will stay in your memory anyway. Just enjoy the experience it it is a no.

Thank you bighairyleggedspider that is a good suggestion! :))))

The sun appears to be shining- love to all.

Haven't had my fav cup of tea for a while now...wonder if I can stomach it today. X

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 09/05/2014 09:38

Shanels 9+3 here!

I just got to work and am feeling really odd. Lightheaded and dizzy with really heavy hands and head. Think I shall sit still for a while....

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 09/05/2014 10:26

I feel disgusting today. There's not much to do at work so I'm just sitting feeling wretched. Going on holiday for the weekend tomorrow though, so trying to look forward to it!

Somersetgirl1990 · 09/05/2014 11:12

Good luck natashaarr! I got some pics when I went for a reassurance scan at 8 weeks but I went private so don't know if that makes a difference Smile
Feeling crappy today, were moving in a month and have so much to sort out and mothers on my case about everything so woke up to a voicemail from her that put me in a foul mood.
And I woke up at 6am with diarrhoea which doesn't seen to be stopping anytime soon Confused

SassehMonsta · 09/05/2014 12:02

I had a private scan which dated me 6+4 and we got photos. Seeing the heartbeat was the most amazing thing though and.nithing could capture that but a memory

Penguin13 · 09/05/2014 12:16

Shanels I think they check the heart in detail at 20 weeks. Your H having a congenital heart condition doesn't necessarily mean your baby is at greater risk of one though. My H was born with a major heart defect (taussig-bing syndrome) and had to have emergency surgery when he was a few days old but we were told by the midwife that there was no raised risk of our baby having a heart problem. If your h's condition is hereditary they may well do more detailed tests and follow-up but your midwife will be able to tell you about that.

Pepsiaddict · 09/05/2014 12:20

Good luck Natasha. At 6 weeks all you can see is a blob. I was so relieved that the embryo had reattached and had a heartbeat that to be honest I didn't watch most of the scan. Think the ultrasonographer took pity on me when she gave us the pic!

KateJ28 · 09/05/2014 12:27

Good luck natasha! really hope the scan goes well!

I had an NHS scan on Tuesday at just over 6 weeks, just to check everything was ok as I'd been having horrid cramps, and they gave me a photo! Hope you get one too, I keep looking at mine as still can't believe it.

Lots of good luck vibes being sent your way!
