Spider unfortunately I've never liked chewing gum. :(

With you on the not being able to complain or speak to anyone. Feel DH doesn't quite understand how miserable the nausea and not taking me seriously. He can do the pregnancy thing next time! Almost dropped a hint to my best friemd who I also work in same office as today, but someone else came into the kitchen...

espa · 01/05/2014 21:11

Ps, whoever was having cat chat. I have two, one also v much a mummy's boy. Not sure how they will cope either as they hate everyone except us. Although they aren't too bad when we have nephews staying.

PolytheneGirl · 01/05/2014 21:32

I have been feeling so sick today and can completely empathise with you all. I had my first bout of motion sickness in the car today too and I'm panicking as I have to get the stinking, swaying, bouncing bus tomorrow! I hope it's not raining as well, I hate the steamed up, sweaty bus on the best of days.

PolytheneGirl · 01/05/2014 21:36

I have 2 cats too and when I had my first (DC) the girl who is usually my shadow just took no notice of him what so ever and still avoids him, but jumps on my lap as soon as DS has gone to bed. My boy cat loved the baby and would cry when DS did and we would have to open the bedroom door every time at night to show him we were looking after him (DS). He is very friendly with him now too.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 01/05/2014 21:36

I'm worried about my little cat trying to sleep in with the baby, and feeling bad about having to lock them out of the bedroom as they have always slept with us. Sad

I dont think my parter does either. He wants to go camping this weekend. Its cold at night, I am not sleeping well, and if there is frequent vomming I would like it to be an easy run to the bathroom, not a scramble out of cold damp tent to the chunder-bush. I love camping. Just not this weekend.... Envy

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 01/05/2014 21:37

Have a good shift DrewsWife. Grin

PolytheneGirl · 01/05/2014 21:44

BigHairy I was worried just the same but bit the bullet when I hit the 3rd trimester and stared shutting them out. They just slept the other side of the door and cried for the first few nights but were well used to it before DS came home from the hosp. I thought it was good to start early as I thought it might help with the jealousy. Who knows if it worked but we never had a problem. Girl cat is currently curled up with me in bed so I guess we'll have to start the process again soon enough!

Bettycakes80 · 01/05/2014 21:56

DH today suggested that when we have to go to a family lunch on Sunday we go on his motorbike. I couldn't even start to go through my long list with him as to why I will not be getting on the back of a motorbike!

espa · 01/05/2014 22:24

My cats get shut in kitchen/utility at night. They can't be trusted. They also just scrape at your feet under the covers. When I try to go to bed early they sit and cry and paw outside the bedroom door. Wonder if they'll do the same to baby! My mummy's boy will be put out if he's not the centre of my universe I'm sure!

espa · 01/05/2014 22:25

I tried another ginger tea tonight, I can confirm it does not help nausea.

Martie1 · 01/05/2014 22:50

espa i was also going to recommend chewing gum- ive used it in the car when driving and it really helps. Maybe you will like chewing gum when pg? I also keep a bottle of water in the car with me, as it seems to help too.

My nausea has completely disappeared. It is a little worrying. I think dotty said the same has happened to her. I google it stupidme-- but for a change got positive answers of people saying that around 8 weeks it can disappear as this is when the placenta starts to kick in. My boobies are still painful so im reassuring myself with that too. Hated the nausea but the loss of it is nerve wracking. There is no happy medium in this business!! Actually i really hope it stays at bay at least till start of next week as ive a hen do to go on this weekend and it would be horrendous with constant nausea.

Loving the list writing. My tasks for tomorrow are:

-to not sponge off work (self-employed) to drink coffee (decaf) with distracting friends.

  • to go look at a new car, ive been promising myself a bigger car for ages, and i guess nows the time!
-feel my boobs some more to 'check' im still pregnant and possibly scratch them as they get crazy itchy! -wish for fairies overnight to come and clean my house and mow the lawn!!!

good night ladies!

natashaarr · 01/05/2014 22:57

Hello all!

Can't wait for the midwife to ring me Tuesday! I'm not feeling pregnant as happy as I am to say I haven't had morning sickness it makes me worried that everything isn't ok! I suppose after my ectopic pregnancy I'm just worried. Has everyone else had morning sickness? I hope everyone that has goes soon!

monkeybaby2 · 01/05/2014 23:19

natasha no ms here, am one of the lucky ones!

And treacle don't be disheartened yet, I'd be surprised if they could see much of anything that early if they weren't using dildo cam.

DrewsWife · 02/05/2014 00:19

Omg. Few drops of lemon juice in water works. Yayyyyy. Back to drinking water again. GrinGrin

Work has been busy. Am still here but it's calmed a little. Paperwork up to date so far. And got an email to say all the girls are getting a hamper tomorrow. Grin

Whole duck, duck breasts, duck legs, apron, meat thermometer, mug, recipe book and more. Yayyyy. A company we stock products for is giving them as we need to know what we are selling!

Hubby is gonna be sooooo happy. Wink

DrewsWife · 02/05/2014 00:27

I just laughed out loud at dildo cam Hahahaha

Getting odd looks.

I had that to see my lentil. I was embarrassed. But DH couldn't work out why. I have a lot to get used too lol. DH is a one to one worked for adults with learning difficulties. So is used to body parts being cleaned and not hidden away.

espa · 02/05/2014 06:23

How bad does ms need to be before the doctor will give you antiemetics?

SassehMonsta · 02/05/2014 06:33

Feeling funny this morning in a weird way. Still got the runs and feel a bit queasy, but something feels different. No idea what though!! Making me uneasy.... got my fingers crossed it's a positive sign not convinced !

Today's list is

  • to go to work
  • pick up those children at the right time and remember their names!!
  • come home and tidy up more in the kitchen - urggghhh.

7+4

Penguin13 · 02/05/2014 06:45

Thanks Bighairy. I hope that you feeling rubbish comes to an end soon. I really feel for all of you experiencing ms. The tiredness is not easy to cope with anyway without adding the quease and sickness into the equation. You'll get there though.

oohdaddypig · 02/05/2014 06:54

Extremely jealous of those without m/s. I would love ten babies if I didn't get it. My current diet consists of bread, marmalade, chips, tomato ketchup and grapefruit. That's all I can eat. In my other pregnancies it didnt lift till 18 weeks....

espa yours is a good question. I rarely actually vomit so get zero sympathy but actually vomiting is a pleasure as it provides relief!!

I can recommend the sea sick bands - they take the edge off....

Anyway I am bridesmaid today so here are my goals....

  • avoid chewing gum like a cow chewing grass as I ascend the aisle
  • avoid retching near bride's dress
  • avoid retching at sight of salmon mousse
  • smile serenely
  • think of dildos if I need to crack a smile

7 + 3

trying29 · 02/05/2014 07:03

does anyone else feel the need to poas again, just to make sure you are definitely still pregnant?!

ImBrian · 02/05/2014 07:04

Don't do it, I did a few weeks ago and it was lighter then my previous one and it drove me nuts. I'd just leave it alone and avoid any stress.

oohdaddypig · 02/05/2014 07:12

trying nooooooo don't do it!!!!!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 02/05/2014 07:20

Do Not Envy you OhDaddyPig. Just the thought of salmon mousse is making me retch.

Although to be honest I dont feel too bad this morning. Although I would feel better if I HAD A POO. If no poojoy today I'll see the Dr I think as its horrible.
Well done with your todo lists.... Grin mine today are

1.To resist the temptation to stay in bed. My boss has gone away for three weeks... he would never know (unless The Girl rats on me... which she would).

  1. To use this feeling better slightly to catch up on myself. I feel like I am falling further and further behind and because I cant say anything to work, they will think I am being shit. Although point 1 and point 2 sort of cancel each other out...
  2. To not worry about feeling better. I am pregnant, symptoms come and go. My boobs still feel like they are being punched from the inside in any case. Worrying wont solve anything and if something is going to go wrong, theres nothing I can.do about it. Worrying about every twinge will make this pregnancy very long.
  3. Resist buying anything baby related. Since I had the bounty pack at the scan (wasn't going to out of principle but sort of caved) and there was a wee vest in there, I'm tempted to start sorting out what I need but I know its too early really.
  4. Resist hiding in the kitchen and soothing my boobs in the catering freezer.... god I want to do that...

Happy Friday to you all. CongratulAtions for making it through what sounds like a tough week for everyone. For those of you with a weekend then I hope today passes quickly and you can go home, snuggle up with your loved ones and a bucket, and relax.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 02/05/2014 07:23

Trying don't do it! The levels of the hormones it picks up goes down so it will be lighter and it'll do your head in. If you are concerned go see your Dr or an EPU.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 02/05/2014 07:26

Oh and for the record, ginger tea doesnt work and burns your nostrils and throat when it comes back up. I too hate ginger tea. Sad
