Drewswife how many cats have you got? We have 2 pheobe and topaz (we didn't name him!!) I am intrigued how they will cope with a new screaming baby in the house!

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 01/05/2014 13:27

Thank you Kate it does seem a bit better today

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 01/05/2014 13:51

I'm usually a Diet Coke/Pepsi fiend but it's waaaay too sweet for me now. I've got the afternoon off work so I'm stationed on the sofa armed with lemonade and ginger snaps. Got an art class tonight (I booked it before I found out!) which will involve trains and taxis and more trains and attempting not to throw up all over my canvas. Maybe I could start a new wave of modern art, though?
Hope everyone else is well?

Pepsiaddict · 01/05/2014 14:13

Sympathy to those who are feeling sick - it's awful and lasts all day. I ended up on metoclopramide last time but it did improve around week 13/14. None this time but have had a big bleed and pain so would have preferred the sickness (almost). Have a large blood clot behind the embryo. The dr was positive in that it's not an ectopic but warned I could miscarry Sad I had such a straightforward previous pregnancy.

DrewsWife · 01/05/2014 14:23

Emily. I have Sirius and Sophia. I named him not her lol. I'm a huge Harry potter fan. ;). Sirius is her black and a mummy's boy.

Sophia is used to toddlers as all in the street like to pet her. But one in the house might change things.

Sophia is 10 and just found lots of lumps on her back. So off to the vets with her later on. Sirius brought a live mouse yesterday. So I find myself often doing mouse rescue.

I have no idea how either will find a screaming baby lol. Bet Sirius breaks down first lol

ChineseFireball · 01/05/2014 14:33

Oh pepsaddict hope things go ok. One of my friends from my NCT antenatal class had a similar thing and now has a gorgeous 5 month old. Hope it's the same for you.

Kate I think classiness goes on holiday during pregnancy! Well, mine does anyway. Although to be honest I'm not hugely classy normally so I suppose that's not a huge change Wink Spew ahoy here. Hate it.

drewswife try adding a bit of black currant juice to the sparkling water! I hate the stuff normally but it's my go to pub drink now (well cheap date me).

I too LOVE Harry Potter! Have you been on the studio tour? I went the year it opened...Amazing!

Cineraria · 01/05/2014 15:00

I know I'm late to reply but so sorry to hear the bad news Kidneybean. Take care of yourself.

Pepsiaddict, how scary for you. Did the doctor say when you'd know you were out of danger?

Hope everyone finds something to help the nausea. I haven't had much yet but did manage to faint on the train last night. Might not be a pregnancy thing as I've done that a few times before and luckily DH was there to hold me up as I felt I was going and someone seated got off the train next to me so I could just fall on the seat before I lost consciousness.

Ladylel · 01/05/2014 16:35

went to see midwife today. All well and a low risk pregnancy can't ask for better. She dated me 1 say out of my current date so means I am due 2nd not 1st December making me 9weeks and 2 days but it's easier to stick with first as everytime Monday comes round I can remember easily!

Tried to take blood but veins kept collapsing so need to go next tues. I then have to wait for my scan letter which will hopefully be next week sometime and fingers crossed for scan by the 9th June!

Came back to work and feel like I've had a bit of a funny turn. Very tired and dizzy. Waiting for 5 pm to come round is a buzz kill. Wanna go home lie down and read through my new pregnancy manual! :)

Saw my GP to get the ball rolling today, who was amazing and very nice. He wrote me an urgent referral for the consultant led antenatal while I waited and said I should hear within a week. Also wrote me a prescription for high dose folic acid and referred me to see the community mw. All feels like a positive step and felt a lot more relaxed after a good chat.

Other than that I'm still having diarrhea but much more frequently, a lot of nausea and now motion sickness too! I can't wait for the second trimester!!

Also a HP fan - went to the studio tour in Feb this year for best friends hen do. We've agreed that once we are both over 1st trimester sickness that we're going back before babies arrive as we mightnt get a chance fir quite a while after!!

Nausea subsided today around lunchtime. Really wanted chicken and sweetcorn soup but a vegan version, so drove the 25miles to a vegan chinese to find its closed today with no explanation. Boooo! Might have a go at making some tonught as I have vegan chicken pieces in the freezer.

Took the day off work to tackle the house as it was horrendus shudder and we have friends over for dinner tomorrow night. Managed bathroom, living room, craft babys room, hallway and bedroom, but wimped out on the kitchen, so stil lots to tackle this evening. Revealing pregnancy to friends tomorrow dinnertime as cant wait any longer or avoid them much more, but dh has dibs on telling them :-) Predicting 1 overly happy response, 1 sedatley happy, and 1 sly smile.

Had a proper meal at lunchtime today and just a few steamed vegetables for dinner so hoping that helps the evening nausea.

The talk of HP has reminded me that we finally have a reason to go to Legoland now! We live fairly close by but always chickened out of going by ourselves as two grown adults Grin

dottytablecloth · 01/05/2014 18:18

Great to hear how everyone is doing.

Thanks for the reassurance about my sudden stopping of nausea; I'll just have to wait and see. I've been to see the GP and am waiting for my scan date which will be between 10 and 11 weeks.

My nausea made a return this evening, no vomiting but definitely felt off.

Am shattered and clock watching until I can go to bed, so this seems like a good sign.

Rejjie · 01/05/2014 18:58

DrewsWife I tried sparkling water with PLj lemon juice today. Very refreshing, helped with the nausea and it has no added sugar.

espa · 01/05/2014 20:18

I bought some ginger tea today. Minging. Hate ginger. DH out tonight so jut had cereal for tea. Feel there's a high chance I might see it again.

Tonight I need to pack for overnight trip tomorrow involving a corporate dinner, prep for a 9am meeting and try and get an early night. Tomorrow need to get through all of the above as well as a 2.5 hour drive. I was hoping ginger tea might have been a miracle treatment!

Littlebear81 · 01/05/2014 20:29

Sorry to hear your news kidneybean. Hope you're doing ok and getting plenty of support.

Had my midwife appt today. All went smoothly and came away with a big pack of info! I'll officially be 11+6 for my scan but as there's a question mark over my dates she thinks they might scan me again if I'm the dates I them so possibly two scans coming up!

Luckily still not feeling sick but super tired and napping after work every day. Finding I go from not at all hungry to starving within about 5 mins-is anyone else having this? Feel a bit weird when I'm hungry but wouldn't really call it nausea. Particularly enjoying beetroot and celery for some reason too??

Boobs have definitely started growing (yippee - not very well endowed!!). Hoping that continues!

I second the sparkling water, maybe mixed with a little juice or squeezed lemon for variety. It's been a real pain finding something I like to drink. I hate sweet things, and all Shchooooor type things are horribly sweet. Sparkling water, or sometimes Tonic water is acceptable - According to my friend who is errmm.... giving birth RIGHT NOW - Tonic helps with leg cramps too.

I successfully managed to not vom in the car - but I did at work. Luckily I was in an empty property on my own and to be fair, it stank of the previous resident so I may have chucked even had I not been pregnant! My nipples are like bullets all the time and I didn't notice until I wondered why the males at work have been a bit starey then caught sight of myself in the mirrored lift. Euuuchhh! HUGE!

I also justified a dirty look from she-who-does-not-eat-except-chocolate by eating a sausage sandwich in the office. I never eat processed meat but I coudn't walk passed the canteen sausages today. Babies fault entirely. Although the two hash browns I then washed it down with were my responsibility (Dinner was roasted veg tart and a complex salad so hey...I don't feel too bad).

Have not had a poo and I am sulking. Especially since I forgot the Fybogel....

A strange cat came in through the catflap today and pissed on DP's jumper. That made me laugh.

Anyway, this is the latest I've gone to bed all week so goodnight and I hope you all are ok and not suffering too much. Only a couple more weeks and apparently we'll all start glowing like the ready brek man and have enough energy to climb mountains, let alone the fecking stairs....

Sorry about the length.... I can't say anything to anyone yet and I can't moan to anyone about how shitty I feel apart from DP and I don't want to go near him as he smells of cat piss.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 01/05/2014 20:37

Espa - I've found chewing gum really helps when driving.

Penguin13 · 01/05/2014 20:47

Really happy to report that I had a second scan today at 8+5 and my little blob is doing just fine, we saw and heard the heartbeat and I'm measuring just a day behind my dates. So relieved.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 01/05/2014 20:58

Brilliant news Penguin!

littlegreengloworm · 01/05/2014 20:59

Hello all, just feeling worried here. I have period type pain and a bit stabby type pain 8+4 weeks. I can't get to gp as literally just back at work this week after maternity leave. I have a Doppler and there is a heartbeat. No sleep last night (baby woke at 3 and 5 am) job is fairly physical an pd demanding but I am very careful. Is this pain a sign of a problem/miscarriage? So worried.

DrewsWife · 01/05/2014 20:59

I'm at work until 2am so will stop by tesco and get sparkling water and lemon juice. Grin

Thank goodness I can share with others.

DrewsWife · 01/05/2014 21:00

Lggw it can be a sign of stretching back out. Try not to worry. But best bet is to see a doc or midwife.
