I'm here! Thanks for the new thread, ClearlyMoo. Very nicely done, I'm impressed.
I'm (just) 32 YO, married for 8.5 years to my lovely DH (also 32 YO). We already have a gorgeous DD1 (3.5 YO) and are now expecting DD2 on 30th May, so I'm currently lagging behind most at 28 weeks.
However, no-one in my recent/close family has gone over their due date and DD1 arrived at 37 weeks - we appear to run with shorter cooking times! Due to that, I'm finishing work at 34 weeks. Just under 6 weeks to go until then; not that I'm counting down or anything...
Had a water homebirth last time and I'm hoping for the same again. Probably just as well, given that last time labour and birth were an intense 5 hours from start to finish!
We live in (currently) sunny West Yorkshire. Might not be that far from you Vikks, depending on where exactly you're based in the Yorkshire area!
Managed to get loads of stuff done this weekend, so predictably I'm crippled again today. I really should learn. On the plus side, I have my first MW appointment of the year this afternoon and I'm hoping if I bleat pathetically enough she might arrange me some physio.
At home we now, finally, have a room that resembles a nursery. Tastefully painted in green with a tropical jungle theme. Assembled the cot in there (we have a moses basket in our room for the first few months) and picked up a comfy chair for nursing in over the weekend that I won cheaply on eBay.
Washed all the baby clothes and had them drying on the line yesterday. :) Currently working through doing the same for all the bedding/blankets/muslins/etc. Washing machine is on overtime this week.
Hospital bag is in progress... Currently got nappies, baby clothes, hats, breast pads, arnica and tea tree oil in there. Still need to acquire/find/wash everything else.
My tip of the day: If people haven't considered early/overnight nursing bras yet, I can recommend these. They do a normal and a plus version for ladies who don't require the double plus.
I found them excellent for the first few days before my milk came in and I knew what size nursing bras to get. After that, they're comfy to wear overnight for support, and they keep breast pads in place to stop you from ending up sleeping in a milky puddle!
