the new version
This one is the new version with bigger shopping basket!

16 week MW appointment today for me too lottie and got to listen to heartbeat for ages as it was a lovely student midwife who had taken a few minutes to find it then had a beaming grin on her face. Such a postive experience compared to last time when I spent half the appointment crying and feeling dreadful, anxious and guilty for missing work due to sickness. Don't worry weebairn, your welfare comes first and one day is nothing. You've done so well Smile.

Congratulations on being team blue bex. We will be finding out at a private scan on Monday 31st. So excited but also do not mind either way myself. OH seems to want a boy so in a way hope for a boy for him. We have one boy name and about ten girl names so far so am a bit anxious about starting to "name" the baby so early. Not out of superstition just think it would be nicer to meet them first. Inevitable if LO is a boy we will be calling him this name from Monday as I said we really wouldn't. That said I also said we wouldn't find out the gender, seems pregnancy makes me very indecisive!

BH here as well I think kicks after some particularly tricky bending and cleaning in a very small bathroom. Can't be sure though.

Welcome to new arrivals too.

I actually think this might be starting to feel real..... ish.

This is our first nazly, so excited!! Re:prams, we've gone for bugaboo buffalo with maxi cosi pebble car seat xx

waffles1990 · 25/03/2014 20:41

Hey everyone, long time no post again - sorry! Been back in work and my last week this week before starting my new job next week :)

Sickness has eased a lot and I'm only sick upon waking now - true morning sickness!

We also had a private gender scan today!! Early birthday treat (my birthday tomorrow Grin and we are team PINK!

Shocked as I was downright convinced it was a boy.

Glad to see everyone is ok. Can't believe there is a November thread!

isitme1 · 25/03/2014 20:50

Aww waffles a little princess! !

topmammy · 25/03/2014 20:51

I am still uber confused about which pram to buy. Have been to have a look at some though. The bugaboo ones are nice and great quality but too big for my car and more than I want to pay really. I quite like the ones where it converts into both a lay flat carry cot and also upright. Less things to store then. There are really too many to choose from. Also, are all car seats compatible with these isofix base thingys which I hear are supposed to be safer?

Bought our first thing for baby at the weekend, a cute little swaddle blanket :)

Nazly · 25/03/2014 20:51

Isitme that looks fab, and it is three wheels which I like, how much space does it need when collapsed ? Is it light or heavy or medium? We live in a flat with no lift, are we going to have trouble taking it down stairs? And are you saying your car seat attaches to the pushchair frame?

Bex, mine is also first, also blue team :) exciting :) I heard good things about bugaboo, it looks stylish but heavy, have you got it yet? Have you tried opening and collapsing?

topmammy · 25/03/2014 20:52

Ooh congrats waffles xx

isitme1 · 25/03/2014 20:56

Its light, ive had to take it up and down stairs plenty of times! ! And it's not a problem!
Fits into my boot easy we have honda civic and all wheels come off for a smaller boot!

Im a sucker for girls dresses Blush

waffles1990 · 25/03/2014 22:26

isitme awww those dresses are so cute! where are they from?
Thinking of having a nosey round mothercare tomorrow for baby's first pink thing :)

isitme1 · 26/03/2014 06:52

EBay baby girl dresses they are pretty cheap too
Absolutely stunning dresses from Korea. Im not Korean but I have bought from there in the past for ds. Ebay korean kids clothes. Soooo much nicer than here!

weebairn · 26/03/2014 06:59

My baby girl was in brightly coloured babygros until she was at least crawling - I'm not a fan of dresses on babies at all! Oooh just thinking about those teeny tiny babygros makes me all broody. I have a box to get down at some point and can't wait to see them again on new baby.

I bought a few and made some dresses myself when she was nearer to one though - love toddler dresses. Once they're running around on their little legs I think they look gorgeous.

Dazedconfused · 26/03/2014 07:51

I love hearing which teams you are all on! congratulations!! my next scan (20weeks) seems ages away but think we will find out then too.

isitme1 · 26/03/2014 08:29

My boys have always been in outfits during the day and babygros at night. Outfits were mainly from next and mamas and papas and the clothes are made for babies so I decided that they were best and when the first grandchild into this family was born from day1 babygros were associated with night and sleeping so when I had mine I felt the same.
there was a thread a few weeks ago about this. Everyone haa different opinions.

If I have a girl I will definitely be ordering the dresses. If I have a boy we have plenty of clothes but will probably get a new coming home outfit

dazed im at the hospital tomorrow and if they give me a renal scan they always check the baby so I could ask beg about the sex! Very excited but don't want to get my hopes up just in case I dont need a renal scan.

isitme1 · 26/03/2014 08:30

Weebarin I would love to make a baby girl dress Grin

weebairn · 26/03/2014 08:53

I think it's nice we all have different opinions and tastes :)

I just looooove babygros on little ones. I have some really cute ones, all animals and bright colours, whales and owls.

Almost all my stuff is unisex so I don't think I'll have to buy too much. Not too bothered about putting a boy in pink vest either (maybe not a dress Grin )

rockin20s · 26/03/2014 09:23

we wont be finding out the sex, but i have bought a few brightly coloured baby grows.

im actually hoping for a boy as all the baby clothes are much nicer, I'm not a pink fan and all i can see from 0-6m is PINK. I'm having nightmares of by house being swallowed up in pink clothing.

isitme1 · 26/03/2014 09:25

Weebairn it stops the thread from getting boringGrin
Ive put pink leggings on ds1 under his jeans in the winter (thicker than tights and the shop were out of white lol) hes almost always ill and winter is horrible for him so it helps if he stays warm

KitKat1985 · 26/03/2014 10:50

Just wanted to say how exciting that we're starting to find out team colours! Congrats on being team blue bex and to waffles for being team pink. Would love a private gender scan but can't really justify spending the money at the moment. We leave for our belated honeymoon to Florida on Friday (got married last year but couldn't afford a big honeymoon at the time) so that took a lot of our savings, and now feel that we really ought to save frantically over next few months to buy baby things and to have a 'surplus fund' for when on maternity leave. Waiting therefore until our 20 week scan on the 2nd of May. Really impatient now. I think it will feel more real to me then. I think because I had a couple of bleeds in the first trimester I mentally prepared myself for something going wrong and wouldn't let myself get my hopes up, and as such it was all a bit of a shock at the 12 (well, 13) week scan to be told all was well. It's great, but I'd reached a point where I'd almost completely prepared myself for this baby not happening, and now it all seems a bit surreal, and I think a part of me had buried my head in the sand now that this is happening at all. I think I'm a bit scared about the whole thing as well, and as much as this baby was planned etc, somehow I can't help freaking out a bit about everything that will have to change and how we will manage. Somehow knowing the baby's sex and being able to start thinking about names etc will make the whole thing a lot more real if you see what I mean? I'm probably not making much sense! Confused

Bananapickle · 26/03/2014 11:30

Got my 15 week check up with the midwife today and was banking on hearing the heart beat. I might just ask if she doesn't automatically do it!!
We will be discovering the gender at the 20 week scan. How do you organise private scans? I always get super impatient after the 20 week scan so may do one later just so I can see baby.
Our 3 yr old is going to have to come to my 20 week scan, has anyone else done that in the past and has it been ok?
As for buggys we had an Oyster with DD but it broke after 9 months so we're having to start again as we only have a stroller, can't really justify too much expenditure though...although I'm very tempted by pretty new wheels!!

Kt1991 · 26/03/2014 12:23

Hey everyone, welcome to the newbies too! Congrats on everyone finding out what their having! I really wish we had the money too as I'm desperate to find out! Month tomorrow till 20week scan though :) had midwife apt today for 16 weeks went really well and heard the heartbeat which was really nice. DS came with me and he was so fascinated bless him, he asked if the baby was coming today though!

whiteblossom · 26/03/2014 14:09

hello everyone, those dresses with the pink tutu are to die for! Id love a girl, I told dh last night, boy or girl its getting dressed in sequins and glitter lol. (for the record I am kidding Grin) Ahhh waffle your getting a baby girl!!!

I mentioned the extra private scans to dh but he was like "but why we will find out the sex at 20 weeks" but then I also showed him one of the tiny babygrows I'd bought and the reaction was rather pathetic. I'm past caring to be honest.

I have however bought a chair for the nursery, not a rocking one (I wont be getting one of those again) its a high wing back chair- not the sort you see in old people homes Grin I collect it tomorrow. Though DH liked it so much he would quite like it in his new office...It was only £50 off ebay and I know when its time to move it out of the babys room I can re-cover it.

Can someone tell me how to stop filling my face...Scales checked Ive gained less than 3lbs so not panic stations yet...but not far off!

surromummy · 26/03/2014 14:16

Hey, not been on here much lately, find it hard to keep up with the constant chatter tbh! Had mum and dad to be down weekend before last for the 13wk scan, all went very well although the looks on the other couples faces in the waiting room was hilariousGrin you could just tell they were looking at me, then at m&d to be and thinking whats the set up here! hospital were very good though, let everyone into the scanning room after I explained it was a surrogate pregnancy, so hopefully they will be equally accommodating when I go in labour!
Starting to look quite podgy out front now, don't quite look pregnant yet though! have told my dcs now and they were fine, few awkward questions but was to be expected! hope everyone else is doing ok Smile
