I tried that gender test with the string and a ring... But I swear at first it went side to side then it went round in a circle. ooh-er! Shock. Only 2 weeks and a couple of days to wait though!! I'm getting so impatient!

Well the parents and children all know about baby now. People already asking me am I coming back part time? and making comments, meant with best intentions I'm sure, that it'd be so hard coming back full time.Doesn't fill me with confidence! But I am going back full time whether I like it or not really, thats the reality.

I'm probably just being too sensitive but I feel under so much pressure already to both work and be a good mother. Argh! I'm off to eat some Cake and drink Brew

Daytona79 · 24/03/2014 19:22

Got my scored today , I'm 34 and the scan measurement was 1.8mm

Came back with a result of 1 in 342 which I know is low risk but I'd hoped for something in the thousands

So now in a flap but I've booked in at my local hospital for the harmony test at 9am tomorrow. It's £395 but we will also find out gender and we were away to anyway at a cost of £100

So I think fingers crossed peace of mind for £295 is worth it.

Just wondered did anyone else panic like me even though above the high risk cut off..??

topmammy · 24/03/2014 19:52

I felt fine about my risk score Daytona as it's just average for my age according to charts/tables that I googled. Mine was 1:1100 so low risk and no further tests recommended. But then I must admit when others on here had risk scores much lower in the tens of thousands it did make me a bit worried for a while! I think you just need to put it in perspective that a 1:100 risk it's only a 1% risk so your risk is less than 1% which is tiny :) Lucky you getting to find out the gender early though!

cookielove · 24/03/2014 19:53

Hello hello hello, i just got off the phone from the genetic Dr, and she has reduced our risk from up to 10% to 3-5% more likely 3% very relieved!

Inbl00m · 24/03/2014 20:20

Great news cookie!

CumbrianExile · 24/03/2014 21:02

Great news Cookie Grin

lucidlady · 24/03/2014 21:50

Brilliant news cookie!

dontevenblink · 24/03/2014 22:06

Lovely to hear the good news cookie :)

I just saw my midwife to have my 16 week check, love that they come out to the house here, makes it so much easier to keep my 23 month occupied, as he is very clingy at the moment! All good with the checks, heard baby's heartbeat which was fantastic Grin. She gave me my bloods and nuchal test results back, low risk with 1:12000 so really happy with that, although apparently I now only have borderline immunity to rubella (had full only 2 years ago...) so she's told me to be careful - has anyone else had this?

Apparently should have my consultant appointment within the next month to discuss the birth, should be a C-section again as I appear to breed children with big heads and shoulders as my midwife pointed out today - I blame it on their father Grin

BexBoo12 · 25/03/2014 07:44

Hi everyone, haven't got time to catch up on all posts but just thought you might like to know...

We are team BLUE

We had early gender scan yesterday, it was amazing!! Strong heart etc. seeing midwife today for my 16 week check so feeling very pregnant at the minute Grin

whiteblossom · 25/03/2014 07:51

Daytona I understand your reaction, I think its good to do the extra test if it helps ease the nerves- no harm to baby and gives you the extra peace of mind, though as someone pointed out you really are low risk with that result Smile. sorry I don't think I have written that very well-basically do what you think is right and anything that helps calm the nerves and gives a clearer picture is a good thing!

cookie that's fantastic news you must be over the moon Grin

Im tired today..

whiteblossom · 25/03/2014 07:52

ahh congrats bex that's lovely news, how exciting.

BooSurprise · 25/03/2014 08:12

lilone I had a GTT in my second pregnancy, but here they aren't done until 28weeks, mine was fasting bloods, drink lucozade, bloods one hr after, and 2hrs after. My result was borderline after 2hrs, and as a result I was I had extra growth scans, was already under consultant for other issues. I'm surprised they are doing it so early, as GD usually shows towards the end of the second trimester, as you get bigger.
This time no GTT for me, the assumption is that I will have it again, so I'm currently having a trial to check blood sugars 6 times a day at home to look for high results and a pattern. I'm hoping I'll be able to control it by diet again, and lose some weight into the bargain, but I did find the lack of variety of things I could tolerate difficult. I should say that all dd2 measurements were on the 91 or 99 centile on scans and she was 8 14 at birth, which is fairly hefty, but not the massive overgrown baby I was led to expect. I'm hoping by being a bit tighter with my diet this time, I might be able to limit any excessive weight gain for both of us.
As far as the spots theory, I didn't have any in first 2 pregnancies and both girls!

isitme1 · 25/03/2014 08:28

topmammy whens your scan? Mine is the 16th on a Thursday Grin might get a sneak peek this Thursday if I have a renal scan

donteven im not immune to rubella either I was supposed to go for the jab, I went and they wont give it me as apparently ive had it Hmm which im sure id remember them jabbing me. They said I had it in 2010 when I waw pg which is obv wrong.

congratulations cookie

kicksandgiggles · 25/03/2014 09:49

Hi all, sorry once again for not posting in so long. We've had back to back illness in this house, so the past month has been hard. I'm also busy trying to wrap up a major project as this is my DS' last week in nursery. I work freelance and will continue to do some bits and pieces until the summer, but will be cutting down significantly after this week.

I'm 16+1 and doing okay, apart from having colds nearly constantly for the past month. This pregnancy is definitely harder than my singleton pregnancy with DS. I'm not super exhausted and nauseous anymore like in the first trimester, but am still much more tired than normal and getting a bit uncomfortable. I feel about two months further along than I am. I've even started getting Braxton Hicks already, which I think I got quite early when pregnant with DS, although it took me a while to work out what they were.

Starting next week (at 17 weeks), I will have scans at least every two weeks, which I hope will be reassuring. I will also be seeing the consultant at least that often, and he said at one point it will be twice a week! This is very different than my relaxed, low-risk pregnancy with DS. In any case, I'm really hoping to find out the gender at my scan on Monday. Since they're identical, they'll either both be girls or both be boys, and I'm dying to know which.

Okay, I'm off for a catch-up, and will try to do a better job with keeping up with this group, especially after I wrap up this week of work. I hope everyone is well.

duzzlightyearsmum · 25/03/2014 09:58

Just checking in and attempting to catch up! M DS has been poorly over the weekend and off nursery yesterday so we are worn out here! Otherwise though I'm feeling pretty good ATM!

Congratulations to everyone getting good news :) so lovely to see!

Not long now til my next scan and I have a consultants appointment for the first time next week! Xxx

weebairn · 25/03/2014 10:04

First day off sick in a year. Not even really sick, just exhausted. Feel really guilty. Was up with baby from 2am too. Feel bad. Was much sicker than this a month ago doing really long tough shifts and yet I battled through. Just feel like I'm running to a standstill.

topmammy · 25/03/2014 13:31

I'm work so dont have time to read the posts properly yet but I was just so excited to read that you're team blue Bex! Eeee exciting! Grin

My scan is on 9th April isitme x :)

Dazedconfused · 25/03/2014 13:39

hello everybody I got moved a bit forward at my scan out of October and into Sept.
I'm due 20th Sept now so thought I would join in xxx

isitme1 · 25/03/2014 15:01

Welcome dazed!

I can't wait to see baby again! !
Topmammy on my notes it says scan before 20+6 and im that on the day!

Ds2 is now poorly Hmm

Lottiedoubtie · 25/03/2014 17:46

weebairn don't feel guilty about the sick day, if you can't go in, you can't go in. You can't predict it or help it!

Had my 16w appointment today, heard baby's heartbeat which was awesome, such a comforting sound!

BexBoo12 · 25/03/2014 18:35

Thank you, we are thrilled but wouldn't have minded either way Grin

Went for 16 week scan today - feel robbed!! She didn't listen to heartbeat Hmm she literally took my blood pressure, told us results of nucheal test and filled a form in to send me for another bloody blood test!!

She did tell me our chance of baby having Down's syndrome is 1 in 100,000 which I'm pleased about so not all bad. It wouldn't make a difference for us but like to be prepared.

Lottiedoubtie · 25/03/2014 18:47

Grin if it makes you feel any better there were delays in clinic, so I got to hear it but I was there 3 hours...

isitme1 · 25/03/2014 19:42

Congrats bex
Mw didn't do heartbeat for us at 16weeks either only got to listen last week when I was at epu with pain

Nazly · 25/03/2014 20:04

Bex welcome to team blue x congratssss, is it your first or are you already a mummy?

On the subject of Prams and Pushchairs Ladies: which I will be buying after 20W, I had my heart set on Cosatto Giggle and thought at least this little bit is decided - tonight in my mind to finalise, I started looking at reviews and I can't believe it! Guess which pushchair has appeared on watchdog for collapsing with babies in them? Yep, C-giggle! I am glad I searched first but frustrated I am back to square one with searching! Any tips ladies? Any experience, any helpful links, anything really which can help me selecting is greatly appreciated... I am after something comfy and preferably combined pram/front and back pushchair and matching car seat ideally... I was found of 3 Wheels ones, but it appears they are not many of these out there?

P.s. I have been lazy and didn't even arrange a 16w appointment with mw , is that really bad?

isitme1 · 25/03/2014 20:10

Naz I highly recommend quinny buzz!!
I got a car seat (maxi cosi pebble) plus adapters so could just use thaton chassis instead of full pram when on a quick errand.
Absolutely lovely! 4years on and I will using the same one for dc3. Ive tried a stokke and they are shit. They just look horrible, very awkward to manoeuvre and when the child out grows foot muff they cant have a blanket on as theres the chassis in the middle so you cant tuck under
