Good luck gummi.

Frizz1986 · 14/01/2014 14:43

Good luck gummi almost time for baby hugs!

MrsVDB · 14/01/2014 15:22

flying your tummy change sounds more like what id expect as baby moves down.

Good luck gummi

enormouse · 14/01/2014 15:30

Good luck gummi. Thinking of you and baby gummi.

Im waiting on Dp and Ds to get home- they're getting a dominos. Dps idea - he's being very sweet lately. He's also asked if there's anything specific I want to have after the birth, any ideas? I was thinking of scotch and a cheese and biscuit selection. With DS it was a small bottle of baileys and some chocolates.

Is anyone wavering on their choice of name? Am a little worried we've decided on the wrong one.

I hope everyone's well and the weather's not too crappy. It's awful here in NI. Am contemplating lighting the fire.

littleraysofsunshine · 14/01/2014 15:41

Good luck gummi!

TarkaTheOtter · 14/01/2014 15:46

Good luck gummi!!

I've got arsing mastitis and feel like death and dh only has one more day of paternity leave. Then I'll have baby and toddler to deal with all day by myself when I can't get out of bed. Sad Sad Sorry for the self-indulgent whine, feeling very sorry for myself.

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 14/01/2014 15:51

Fingers crossed for you Gummi!

I've gone all a weird shape too, but kind of angled almost - like I have a flat panel around my belly button. Probably something to do with split muscles. Urgh.

Nothing happening here. Had a second sweep today, 2-3cm dilated and having random light ctx here and there, but nothing that sticks. I'm starting to wonder if I'm ever going to go into labour! Although I guess I'm only 39+1 so there's still a bit of time.

enormouse we are name-wavering too. We have kind of decided on a first, and have a huge list of middles! Don't know what to do, I'm hoping it will all become clear when we finally meet her.

MrsVDB · 14/01/2014 16:06

only that's exactly like mine. Hoping its not split muscles

We're waiting until he's born to confirm name as have changed our mind a couple of times

BuntCadger · 14/01/2014 16:09

Good luck gummi! Smile

tarka Sad poor you with mastitis. I'm dreading the whole dh going back go work and leaving me with newborn, toddler and part time home schooled ds2 so f knows how I'd feel if mastitis too. hope abs work fast.

contemplating calling my mum over as still ctx getting more painful and about 4 min apart. been to mw appt and was ctx there too 1 in 4 min. my bloody cervix has rolled to back (as it did with other babies) still has length of 2 cm too but dilated to 3 cm. she could feel baby head pressing down on cervix with each ctx tho and did a sweep and stretch while I was having ctx. she said to go up hospital soon but I'm a bit meh as this could take a while although dd went from this to birth in 2 hours I just don't feel like I'm ready to go in. rambling I know

Shroomboom · 14/01/2014 16:25

Congratulations Sarah, lovely news and sounds like a lovely birth Smile

Good luck Gummi, hope everything goes smoothly!

Ooh Bunt it sounds like this is it! Maybe better to be at the hospital sooner rather than later if it went so fast with dd? Good luck!!

Shroomboom · 14/01/2014 16:25

PS Thanks for all the lovely welcomes Smile

Naturegirl82 · 14/01/2014 16:36

Exciting bunt good luck

tarka that sucks, sorry to hear that. Hope it clears up soon.

My bump doesn't seem to have changed shape. Got a lot of pressure down below and backache today. Been for a 2mile walk but still the same.

Hello - can I join back in? Was on the first couple of threads

Am 40+5 sob with DC2. DS is 13 months and I went into labour with him at 40+2 so I'm finding the waiting awful

Hope everyone else is doing well. Am off to read the thread now

Have read a little bit and I've got a strange saggy bump now too!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 14/01/2014 16:59

gummi good luck! Will be thinking of you.

bunt sounds promising? I'd get childcare sorted, might relax you enough to get something more established going?

tarka oh no poor you that utterly sucks. Is there anyone else you can call in for help tomorrow?

gobbo welcome back stranger!

So, today is another weepy pathetic day. Apparently I'm going to have one day of ctx, positive feelings, loads of signs, energy, etc, followed by a day of self indulgent weeping and insecurity, and feeling generally out of sorts. Oh well, on that basis, tomorrow will be another nice day, but then I'll go in for induction on Thursday feeling utterly pathetic and sorry for myself. Lucky lucky midwives. Wink

MrsGSR · 14/01/2014 17:03

Good luck gummi and bunt!

Hope you feel better soon tarka

Welcome back Gobbo! :)

Those who have gone over, what does the midwife do at the 40 week appointment? I'm due tomorrow but couldn't get an appointment until 40+6, I'm not too worried as I think I'm going to go over as have had no signs at all! But booked the appointment with the receptionist not the midwife and I'm worried she'll be annoyed at me!

enormouse · 14/01/2014 17:16

MrsG from what I remember of going over with DS. They check you over and examine you and offer a sweep if they think you're favourable. I didn't get one as Ds wasn't in the right place but they did book me in for an induction at 40+11. (Which I didn't end up getting as DS had other ideas)

humpty what about doing something lovely tomorrow and on Thursday (before your induction)? Have a bath, a few magazines. Maybe a dvd box set.

Hi gobbolino I loved reading your lasagne thread, but didn't comment. I hope your feeling better. I plan on ordering the stuff to make a lasagne in my next asda shop.

bunt agree about the childcare situation. Is your mum near you?

tarka mastitis is awful, hopefully your abs will start working as soon as. Are you eating and drinking well?

MrsVDB · 14/01/2014 18:16

Good luck bunt I second going in if you can

Welcome back gobbo I remember you

mrsg my mw said that at the 40 w apt shell book me in for sweep (but prob not do it at that apt. I wouldn't worry too much if you feel ok

Got new washing machine and tumble dryer being delivered day before due date, breast feeding clinic on due date then new dishwasher being delivered and fridge engineer coming day after due date. Is it obvious I'm in denial that something might happen?!

Frizz1986 · 14/01/2014 18:30

Oh tarka sorry about the mastitis. Hope it clears up pronto!

bunt if things went fast last time I would def sort childcare and if mw said to head to hospital soon I would go for it. I am a worrier though and would be panicking that i would give birth in the car!

Welcome back gobbo Good luck attempting to catch up Smile If i don't come online for a day I get lost as this thread moves oh so very fast.

humpty def try and give yourself a good day. Box sets, snacks, nibbles, duvet...... I missed out on the pre baby relax and feel like I am paying for it now as am sooooo drained! Although I really do feel to those who are waiting for baby to make an appearance.

mrsg am sure mw wont be annoyed. Like the others said I think they only monitor you and do a sweep if they can but some people arent favourable to its just a normal mw app. She might start you on the road to induction by booking one and giving you a date so at least you will have an end point.

Had a fairly good day today. Had the jaundice clinic at the hospital and they weighed her (she has put on another 11oz in a week) and she is now 7lbs (was 6lb 5oz when born) and they checked her over. She is looking ok but still has some jaundice. They took blood (from her hand taking 2 attempts, cue lots of tears) and will test and if her levels are lower than her last test then they dont need to see her again as they are happy that it will go on its own eventually. Fingers crossed.....now to wait for results.
She has her hearing test tomorrow so another trip to a different hospital. Then i am going to take her to my work to meet people (show her off and gloat that I am not at work)
Feeling much more relaxed today and managed a nap (only 30mins) this afternoon so not dreading the night shift as much.

fryingpantoface · 14/01/2014 19:18

I'm sorry about the jaundice Frizz

Henry is yellow, so looks like jaundice. I can see the whites of his eyes are slightly yellow. The midwife is coming tomorrow so I'll ask her about the jaundice. He keeps falling asleep while having his bottle, so it takes about 90 mins for him to drink 4oz which isn't very good.

take the time to relax all you preggo people! I really wish i had more of a relaxing time, even with dh being off I'm shattered

BuntCadger · 14/01/2014 19:24

mrsg - mine did sweep/internal

my parents were coming but I cancelled as had eased a bit at 6 PM, as in pain wise. They are building again tho so may give them a call. I totally hate this part. dh is being a complete useless chocolate teapot. its like he expects me to know exactly when baby coming. I feel. Under do much fking pressure from him Sad

Frizz1986 · 14/01/2014 19:36

frying we had the same feeding issue. The jaundice makes them sleepy so they wont be as alert for feeds etc. its why she lost too mich weight at the start. But now her jaundice is going she feeds much better so is piling on the weight.

Mythreeknights · 14/01/2014 20:07

Oh bunt, not long now surely. I know what you mean about others really wanting to know exactly when baby will come...it's an anxious time for both of you. Perhaps tomorrow but if not take fryings advice...we should all be doing serious resting!

TobyLerone · 14/01/2014 20:20

Oh, tarka, you poor thing. Mastitis is horrible. Look after yourself.

Good luck, bunt & gummi!

Welcome back, gobbo :o

It seems like ages since I was pregnant! Meredith is a week old tomorrow, which is so strange. It feels like she's always been here, but also like it's no time at all. It's odd to think that she could still have been in there til they induced me on Friday.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 14/01/2014 20:27

MrsG I didn't have a sweep at 40 wks, but it was a cover midwife, who was shit a bit less experienced (she also managed to only do two of the three blood tests she was meant to, and forgot to measure me), so that's prob why.

Right, tomorrow I am meeting my NCT group for lunch, and I might see if I can book a pedicure for afterwards. I am taking all your advice about enjoying it while I can...

frizz well done Aurelia on the weight gain!

frying sorry to hear about jaundice, hope it resolves quickly.
