I go to all my scans alone so wouldn't be a problem for me. It's really crap that Dads aren't given time off for antenatal appointments - it's even more crap that the government sees there is a problem but aren't going to do anything about it til 2015

Vikks · 30/12/2013 15:11

Polly I really feel for you, I wouldn't know what to do, I don’t want DP to miss anything. Maybe do what Dobe said and take picture and video if you can. It’s such a shitty situation.

Moomin Hope you’re ok. X

Thistletoe Enjoy your time off!

I've had my scan today and everything looks as it should. I’m so relieved, I was so nervous beforehand. Little Olivia (definitely a girl still) was bouncing around and giving us a wave, truly magical! Just can’t wait to meet her now and enjoy my newborn snuggles.
20+3

Vikks · 30/12/2013 15:16

Added new pic (& FB too) Grin

ThistletoeAndWine · 30/12/2013 15:23

Wahoo no more work!!! Ten days in Egypt!!! Had a listen in baby very happy

randdom · 30/12/2013 18:11

Just about to work a run of nights. Really anxious about it, I don't know why as I have done it many times before.

On the positive side have a very wiggly baby at the moment. I never thought I would feel movements that were this clear this early!!

ISawNannyPlumKissingSantaClaus · 30/12/2013 18:29

Very jealous thistle!!!

AppleCrumble1 · 30/12/2013 19:04

Hi everyone hope you all had a lovely festive time. Not posted for a while but had my 20 week scan today and had been anxious about it. We waited 2 hours & baby was in an awkward position (laid back baby!) but the sonographer was great & managed to check all & everything seems fine Smile I have to have another scan at 35 to check the placenta as it seemed low - at least we get another look!

Worried about the hospital though as it has had such bad feedback for maternity Sad

AppleCrumble1 · 30/12/2013 19:05

Have a fab hol thistle!

ThePollyAndTheIvy · 30/12/2013 20:06

What a day for drama!

Was in the supermarket this afternoon and a member of staff shoved through the door in front of me and the trolley hit my bump. It's been tender this pm so thought I'd call the midwife, who asked me to go in. Just heard a nice clear heartbeat and waiting for some movement but might have to have an anti d injection at some point.

They're going to get a nice strong complaint tomorrow!

Have a lovely holiday! Thanks

Mummymoneypenny · 30/12/2013 20:07

Hi, I'm a little late joining but thought it was about time I checked out the May mums club. I'm due 22nd May with number 3 after a 1o year gap Shockso feel like it's all new again. Feeling lots of kicks and vivid dreams but I am getting lots of sleep now after months of insomnia. What pushchairs are everyone thinking of? I'm looking for a 3 wheeler.

ClearlyMoo · 30/12/2013 20:31

Hello lovely to hear people's scan news Grin

My parents have left after a flying 30hr or so visit which went well. I was exhausted when they left tho. Have a new phone. Similar to old but works better!

Anyway just popped in to say hi. Am really sick of weeing when I sneeze so must get over Christmas laziness and back to daily PF exercises!! Still traumatised that no one tells you about this when you're first preggo!

Minions · 31/12/2013 07:47

Welcome mummymoneypenny

Hope you're ok penny, glad you're getting checked. Scary how things that would have been annoying before are now more serious :(

Have a great trip thistle!

rebeccax2 · 31/12/2013 08:35

Have a great holiday thistle

Heading back home from Austria today to enjoy NYE alone (just the way I like it!). x

Xavielli · 31/12/2013 09:05

Oh Polly how scarey! Glad all is well.

Have a lovely trip thistle

Welcome Penny:)

I've got a bloomin' cough and it's kept me up half the night. I only seem to get them when I'm pregnant too. Thank goodness for a decent pelvic floor is all I can say!

Minions · 31/12/2013 09:58

penny, I'm thinking Uppababy Cruz or Vista but haven't been to shop yet to try them out. Have been on Which website - the reviews seem comprehensive & useful, I think you can get trial membership for £1.

dobedobedo · 31/12/2013 10:15

minions I couldn't have done without a which membership lately! Remind me to cancel it when I'm finished with baby stuff.

penny I was going to get one of the uppababy pushchairs, but then mamas and papas had a sale on Smile. I ordered the sola pushchair a couple of nights ago. It's also high up the which best buy table, and the car seat that it fits with also has a brilliant safety score. PLUS when you buy the car seat and the pushchair together on the mamas and papas site or their shops, you save an extra £40. I can't wait for it to arrive next week so I can play with it!

Hezbean · 31/12/2013 10:40

Welcome penny, hi everyone! Have a lovely holiday thistle!

We are going for an uppababy Cruz - we need something smaller as we live in a first floor flat in London so basically it was that, the bugaboo bee or the city jogger mini. The uppababy has a huge basket underneath and folds down small, it's a little heavier than the bugaboo but we preferred the look of it, it folds flatter, freestands whilst folded and it's about £100 cheaper.

Congrats apple crumble on your scan! Can't wait til ours on Friday.

What's everyone doing this sober NYE? We are going round to our neighbours - just have to come back downstairs to get home which is great! X

moobaloo · 31/12/2013 10:56

Wow so much to catch up on!

Congrats on all good news, scans, bargain buys and happy things

commiserations on family problems and sad things

(hugs) moomin

I am now feeling kicks! I think... Just a few, in the evenings, whilst I'm chilling on the giant beanbag DP got me for xmas (to snuggle into and bfeed on in our bedroom as a chair wouldn't fit but this squishes into the gap nicely and is lovely and supportive so I can rest my arms etc whilst holding baby - he is surprisingly thoughtful!) I feel like little "pops" in my tummy, in different places. They're not usually very close together, so I think I get one, then he or she floats off somewhere else and I don't feel for a while, but then it connects with a womb wall elsewhere and "pops" me again! Does this sound like kicks??

I am 20+1 today - more than halfway!!!

My scan isn't for another 6 days though Sad

Sober new years - I'm going to the pub Hmm I swear I spend more time in pubs now than I ever did!! To a friend's for pre-drinks Hmm and nibbles first and then I'm going to drive everyone home to their respective houses - aren't I nice! Grin

Happy New Year to One and All! 2014 is the year we will meet our BABIES!

psynl · 31/12/2013 13:24

Everyone is getting so organised with buying - I need to get a move on!
I've started my gestational diabetes regime and I'm managing to keep blood sugars under control through diet although the hospital are keen on medication. One good thing to come from it though is that I won't go overdue - this baby will be born at 38 weeks so less time to wait!
Have a good new year everyone - 2014 is going to be fab!

Squiffie · 31/12/2013 15:16

We're at Legoland Discovery Centre in Manchester - same as last NYE! We'll then head home, put the kids to bed and snuggle on the sofa watching Hootenanny! Pretty sad but its what we've done for the past few years since having kids. I'm not a fan of going out on NYE as its carnage, we'll probably do parties again when the kids are a bit older! X

rebeccax2 · 31/12/2013 21:40

Home from Austria and taking in NYE alone watching Momma Mia! I'm very happy though.

I have gained exactly 4.5kg at 20 weeks which I'm really happy about. That seems about right and I've eaten tons. Still hardly any bump though, I think because I have widish hips there's a bit more room down there for the little mite.

moob that sounds about right! Although I'm no expert and unsure myself most of the time! But yeah, I think it's like pops (I like the lava lamp description!).

Great news psynl on the blood sugars. It's great if you've done so well without the meds!

Happy NY everyone! 2014 is going to be lovely! xx

Xavielli · 31/12/2013 22:28

Happy New year ladies :) can't keep my eyes open any longer xx
