Not sure if this'll work for anyone else, but best way I found to deal with calf cramps is that the moment I feel one coming I push my heel down as far as I can while lifting my toes towards my knee.

It feels a bit counter-intuitive initially, but it seems to work to 'unlock' the cramp. If I'm quick enough, it avoids that awful achy feeling for the rest of the day.

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 24/01/2014 11:59

I'm attacking them on Twitter now, they've lied and said they left a card, they didn't! The guy saw me and ran off to his van and has left it with the neighbours! I don't know the neighbours Sad

I'm angry at the world today. Can I just stay in bed? I'm officially 6 months pregnant in four days time. I need to stay in bed!!

ThistleLickerIsGoingToBeAMummy · 24/01/2014 12:00

I thought at 24 weeks your officially pregnant as it goes off weeks and not date/month .... That's how I've counted it and if I'm wrong then I'm a big foolHmm

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 24/01/2014 12:01

Oooh... I have absolutely no idea. I was going off the fact that in 4 days it's 3 months until my due date. I'm a bit clueless about it all Blush

ClearlyMoo · 24/01/2014 12:25

Moominisgoingtobeamum I find the months weeks thing confusing too. I'm 24 weeks. Told a lady at church the other day I was 6 months pregnant THEN told her baby was due in mid May and she made a "you're crap at maths face" as clearly it's still almost 4 months til I'm due. But 40 weeks is 40/52x12=9.2months... So it is confusing.

After I posted about movement I made a mocha latte milkshake with coffee & cocoa & sugar and milk and ice and have felt 6 kicks/movements in 20 mins so I think baby is doing ok!

ClearlyMoo · 24/01/2014 12:26

PS, do we need a new thread before we hit 999? X

hobbjobb · 24/01/2014 12:26

All fine on anomaly scan, though after much soul searching we decided to find out the sex, and she couldn't tell so I guess it'll be a surprise after all! DP is disappointed but I'm not bothered really.

Hope everyone's feeling well, can't believe how quickly time is going!

Chip86 · 24/01/2014 12:27

Well i dont know but the baby center website told me as i was 25 weeks today im also 6 months

NannyPlumForPM · 24/01/2014 12:28

I've decided to rate this pregnancy in terms of how much I moan and waddle. Currently I am balanced between moaning a little and waddling mildly so that puts me at just under 6 months!

Dp has buggered off to sunderland for the weekend to watch football. :-/ it's a 6 hour journey from us! Bloody boys and their toys

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 24/01/2014 12:36

I'm moaning a lot and waddling a little so I'm guessing I can say six months? Grin

I really want a Pom-Bear sandwich Hmm

OH hasn't heard from his dad today, he's assuming that no news is good news and his uncle got through last night.

ThistleLickerIsGoingToBeAMummy · 24/01/2014 12:47

Well technically your
Pregnant for ten months which is then40'weeks, the hospital where I work count u in weeks and not months anyway!! I have officially ante natal on Tuesday so I'm gonna discuss elcs with her an see what she says!

loopylou52 · 24/01/2014 12:48

The months thing is definitely confusing - if you go on the average of a month having 4.3 weeks then 6 months is at 26 weeks.

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 24/01/2014 12:52

I've incurred the wrath of bitchy flatmate. She refused to wash up my kitchen stuff that she used yesterday so I stuck her tin opener in the fridge (don't ask why, it was gone midnight and I was tired) and now she's stomping around trying to find out who it was.

I can't wait to get out of this place!

New thread sounds like a good idea :)

MrsFooCough · 24/01/2014 13:17

Hey moomin I dunno what to say about your poor OH but your mum is def right, they've got to understand that no matter how hard the loss of his uncle is, for all of them, YOU and BabyMoom are (actively or passively) part of his grieving process. But yes, subtle with the bump and a quiet arm to grasp. My DH was amazing at my grandpa's funeral last month: the absolute paragon of quiet strength for me. I however was sobbing halfway thru the first verse of the first hymn! But I was allowed, he was after all my gramps, and PREGGO HORMONES. It's going to be hard, but just try to be like my DH and your OH and his family will thank you for it (albeit in the case of his mum&sis they'll probably never tell you!)

In terms of names, I don't mind Zara having my 1st choice girl's name as her middle name. I forgive her Grin I'm slightly worried that Stefani may pop out a boy and call him Leo now, anyone know what she's expecting? I don't follow The Popular Culture ~old lady at 25 face~ so I've NO IDEA. Didn't even know she and Katona were preggo! Katona will call hers something like Wayne or Jayden won't she Hmm . As long as nobody we know is a Katona/Stefani SUPERFAN I doubt it'll be a problem!

Baby-movement-wise, Bean seems to love kicking riiiight down inside my pelvis most of the time, and my remaining generous layer of pre-PG blubber is rather stopping DH from feeling much, but leaning back in the bath Bean's jiggling makes my bump pop out on the side and makes the water ripple Grin so I know he/she's doing ok in there!

Blood pressure for me has always been around 110-120/80-90, pre-PG, and the latest one was 111/67, so I think I'm ok. Heart rate was 105, and I have noticed my pulse a lot more than I ever used to, so the heart-racing thing is totally holding true over here.

Yes, new thread needed so as a stay-at-home-preggo I'll check back every hour or so and get a new thread done when we need it - unless someone else beats me to it!!
And this time I'll totally remember to make the links on the top post clickable... Hmm Blush

Go for it and make a new thread now mrsfoo, then fill this thread with link to new thread?

mumof2aimingfor4 · 24/01/2014 13:48

Re the months/weeks thing. When people ask how far gone I am I always reply in weeks.
