samba - google the pelvix partnership - they have a good website. It's not necessarily the end of the world if it is pgp, getting help sooner rather than later is probably key though. My physio said some people only need a couple of sessions and then are fine.

moomin - sorry to hear oh's uncle had deteriorated so quickly, must be such a shock. I agree you should go to the funeral. It's important to support your oh and also not to give them a reason to suggest you're not being supportive. No need to go to great lengths to talk to his mum or sister though, as long as you're civil. Maybe his sis is just taking a while to get used to the situation and will come around. I wasn't trying to conceive for all that long but when you are, and you do everything exactly right (timed to ovulation etc) and then your period still arrives it can feel very unfair that it happens so easily for others. Obviously that's not your problem, and no excuse for her being rude, but it may just be a case of leaving her to get her head around it.

PixieBumbles · 23/01/2014 21:00

moomin I missed your last couple of updates so my comment just now probably seemed horribly flippant.

I'm so sorry to learn OH's uncle has deteriorated so quickly What a terrible shock for you both Sad.

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 23/01/2014 21:09

Pixie don't worry at all - my constant ranting and venting is silly, I know, I just need somewhere to get it out. I'm really glad those of you with SPD/similar issues are starting to get them sorted out and getting referrals - I've been lucky enough to escape many major problems so far!

Apparently the first thing OH's uncle asked about when his dad visited today was how OH, me and the baby are getting on.

mrsmummytobe · 23/01/2014 21:18

Aww moomin sorry your oh is going through such a difficult time. It must be so hard for you both. As others have said, I think go to the funeral to support your dp but just stay in the background & don't worry about mil & sil.

Nanny, you know more than me!! Well our name is still safe at this point :) And don't forget the dreaded Kerry Katona is also due soon but I doubt she'd pick our name (at least I really really hope not!)

kally195 · 23/01/2014 21:43

Evening all.

Moomin - so sorry to hear about all you and your OH are going through. No advice to add, but we're all here to listen.

Hope everyone else is doing OK. I'm fast approaching 24 weeks, and the monster is now having regular dance parties. The one at 4am this morning (which woke me up) was particularly fun :). OH has started to feel her kick as well.

Anyone else suffering with low blood pressure? Mine is around 100/58 on a good day, and as a result I get very out of breath and lightheaded. Guess it's better than it being too high though.

I am having to prevent myself from going mad in the sales - so tempted by some of the lovely baby clothes around at the mo.

moobaloo · 23/01/2014 21:56

Low blood pressure

kally - you just made me realise i don't know what's normal re blood pressure. Mine was taken by mw yesterday and was 96 over 50. Mw said that was low but then said it was normal for me after looking at my notes. What do these numbers mean? What is average?

I am often dizzy and lightheaded and get out of breath very easily

Normal?

Chip86 · 23/01/2014 22:01

moomin so sorry to hear you OH news glad to hear your going to support him

kally195 · 23/01/2014 22:18

moobaloo The first number is your systolic pressure (when your heart is beating and pumping blood out) and the second is your diastolic (when your heart rests between beats).

Normal is a bit of a moveable feast when it comes to BP. Generally, between 90/60 and 120/80 is seen as ideal blood pressure. Although my systolic is on the low end and my diastolic is below ideal, my midwife isn't overly worried about mine, as my non-pregnant blood pressure is never above 113/70. She just warned me that I will get lightheaded etc, and to make sure I keep my fluids up (dehydration causes BP to drop more).

As long as you aren't passing out, or getting weird vision etc (look up symptoms of hypotension if you are concerned) then it isn't anything to worry too much about. Low blood pressure is far less of a concern than high blood pressure!

(I have medical parents - I don't read medical dictionaries for fun Grin)

ThistleLickerIsGoingToBeAMummy · 23/01/2014 22:22

In pregnant women the blood pressure (top number) should be between 100/140 and the bottom number less than 90! The parameters are if fervent when you are not pregnant!

You will have booking Bp done ANd that acts like a guide through pregnancy that's how they come out with what's normal for each individual

randdom · 23/01/2014 22:26

My blood pressure is on the low side. I get dizzy if I haven't had enough to drink or am standing up. Ted stockings can help if you are going to have a day on your feet.

kally195 · 23/01/2014 22:34

Oh and - after reading your earlier posts about the anti-d moobaloo, conspiracy theorists reckon that people who are rhesus negative have naturally lower blood pressures (I'm A-). That, and apparently we are immune to cloning Grin

And seconding what thistle said - they will use either booking in or a combination of booking in and previous medical records to work out what is OK with your personal blood pressure. If your midwife isn't concerned then there is no reason for you to be - just be aware of the physical side effects. I use it as an excuse to sit down often!

ThistleLickerIsGoingToBeAMummy · 23/01/2014 22:42

I had hypertension early pregnant. Mines was168/88 and was put on meds I'll have growth scans and they are observing blood flow to baby which is effected by blood pressure

Xavielli · 24/01/2014 02:29

I'm taking part in a Bp study this pregnancy. I have to take 4 readings a day, Mon, Weds and Fridays. It doesn't seem to budge much from around 115/63

ThistleLickerIsGoingToBeAMummy · 24/01/2014 06:39

I'm doing a research with the consultant to see if Bp effects growth

bushprincess · 24/01/2014 08:10

so sorry to hear about your OHs uncle deteriorating so quickly moomin second what everyone else says - go to the funeral for him - he is your priortiy (after bean of course!) as you are to him. Sure it will be difficult but we're here if you need to let things out.

Sorry for those suffering so much pelvic pain - horrendous.

Just a note, following on from bp, also make sure you're checked out for anemia if you're feeling low - I've not been quite up to par the last few days so went in for a check up yesterday, bp was fine (111/60 - about normal for me) but my iron was low so have started on some iron supplements - hope that perks me up!

Not sure how regularly you guys are getting checked but I realised that my OB-GYN hadn't checked since 9 weeks - glad I followed my gut and went for a check-up!

(24 + 4)

hobbjobb · 24/01/2014 08:25

Morning!

Anomaly scan take 2 this morning, hope baby is behaving today

wm3010 · 24/01/2014 08:48

Moomin that's awful, nothing to add but thinking of you.

I have relatively low blood pressure too and feeling quite tired a lot of the time, and sometimes short of breath too. Have had my iron levels checked again but they came back normal so I think it is just the low blood pressure. Still, if that's the worst problem I have then can't really complain!

Late for work this morning as baby as been having a good movement session every morning when I wake up and lie in bed (trying to summon the energy to get myself up) and then this morning... nothing. So I got up to start getting ready then decided to lie down again to "listen" for her. One big kick and a couple of small ones but nothing much else. I was a bit reassured, thought I would just keep an eye this morning. Then when on the train to work she was moving all over the place (and currently nudging the edge of my desk where it is pushing on the bump) so think everything ok. Have decided she was just extra sleepy this morning! Only 25 weeks so I know a bit early for really regular movement patterns but isn't it scary when they do something different?!

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 24/01/2014 09:16

Good luck hobb

No news from OH's family yet but he's woken up late and rushed off to uni so I probably won't see him until about 2.

wm mini moomin has a pretty regular pattern now (and I'm only 26+4), it is really scary when they break that pattern!

My blood pressure has been holding steady (it's usually always either 130/70 or 120/80, weirdly, but lately the bottom number has been dropping, and my pulse has been racing too Hmm ) but I've got blood tests in a couple of weeks I think and it wouldn't surprise me if my iron levels are low again.

dobedobedo · 24/01/2014 10:10

wm3010 Normally my baby goes nuts in the morning before I get up too - I don't like it when he has a quiet morning. It does make me worry, but he normally wakes up at some point and gives me a good boot!

I'm 25 weeks today :-D I feel so blessed. My cousin is having the funeral for their little baby born at 21/22 weeks today. So while I do whinge about the pelvic pain and being humongous, I'm still very aware how lucky I am that lil Jesse is still safely in there.

Last night I was reading about week 25 in pregnancy on the pregnancy app on my phone. It said that leg cramps were common at this stage. And what happened? Last night I woke up with the mother of all leg cramps. I was swearing and shouting and poor DH thought I'd lost the plot! He says he might sleep on the sofa tonight as he needs a break from "pregzilla".

It's all his fault, as I keep reminding him Grin

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 24/01/2014 10:21

The Yodel man has my beanbag. How do I make him give it to me? He waited at the door for all of twenty seconds. In what universe is that enough for me to get dressed and waddle downstairs (it's bad, I've reached the waddle stage)? He's left something with the neighbours but I don't know them well enough to knock on their door and say "hey give me whatever the yodel man gave you", that's a bit creepy.

NannyPlumForPM · 24/01/2014 10:27

Oh no moomin not creepy at all when there's a bean bAg at stake!

kally195 · 24/01/2014 10:28

moomin thinking of you and your OH

hobb hope the scan those OK

Another morning wriggler here - which seeing as I didn't get in from work until 2am this morning is good fun :). I think an afternoon nap will be in order before I go back to work for a nightshift tonight! She uses the nightshifts to freak me out - goes mental all night then is quiet till the next evening.

Trying to work up the enthusiasm to get up and go food shopping. Have serious hunger, but a complete lack of food. Gah. Trying not to obsess over the thought of a full English.... Preferably prepared and cleaned up by someone else.

dobe I got leg cramps a few nights ago - both calf muscles. I nearly screamed when I stood up to get rid of it! The dull ache for the rest of the day is horrid. I think I forgot to drink enough water.

I've been brave and put a post in the baby name forum.

LongTailedTit · 24/01/2014 11:35

I haven't been hit by the leg cramps yet, they were horrid last time! Always right in the back of my calf, ugh.

My BP is generally low, when I was feeling particularly rough in 1st trimester the midwife measured it at 80/56!
I was constantly dizzy and nauseous, but she reckoned low BP wasn't a worry, and just advised me to eat lots of salty snacks and drink more water.
Salty things helped with my leg cramps last time actually, so double whammy usefulness!

This horrid cold still hasn't shifted, and I've now done something to the other side of my ribs too, felt it go pop during a coughing fit.
Coughing fits are winding me each time, I'm so short of breath already. Plus my pelvic floor is reeeeeally not doing it's job very well
At preschool drop off this morning everyone was asking if I was ok, I must have looked v rough! Blush

Whinge over! :) 25+6

ClearlyMoo · 24/01/2014 11:52

This week has been so hard! I've had 4 days in a row of 1hr + commute each way and two evenings of socialising and then Aquanatal last night. Woke up SO late this morning. I'm working from home but everyone can see if you're online or not! So logged in at 9.30am and got a few comments from colleagues. I'd had 9.5hrs sleep but felt like I'd had 3 and a hangover. Feeling more human now but have decided I can't do any more 4 commutes in a row!

Wm similarly I've also found movement different this week... And worried a bit though have had some kicks. I've got an anterior placenta so movements are usually at sides or target bladder/bowel.. a nice GP lady who is preggo and goes to my Aquanatal said drink cold can of full fat coke and lie down and you should feel movement within 2hrs and if not THEN worry... Baby should react to cold+ sugar+ caffeine! so may have to invest in some coke soon!

Getting kicked gently as I type!

Chip86 · 24/01/2014 11:53
