Afternoon ladies

It's flipping roasting here, lovely but even with factor 50 i always get sunburnt so keeping out of the sun after being burnt yesterday.Dd is grumpy and whingy today and close to being shouted atSad.
Had a horrible couple of days.Got this "never of the loo" thing going on,never had it with the other three pg's so not sure what it is.Also keep crying for no reason at all!!! Just have to keep excusing myself and sitting in the loo bawling.

have posted on parenting about ds1 and thats really upset me today too.he loves his new gf and her family so much that he is never here and hardly talks to us anymore.Gf's dad said (after he'd spent all day with her family yesterday) that he could spend the night at her house(in a room with her big brother)and i flipped and said no bloody way.At the time i was saying no cos of the fact that they could be having sex but i suspect after reading the replies to the posts this morning i am feeling jelaous and pissed off that he does family stuff with them happily but will not join in or enjoy family stuff with our family.Anyway it's my issue i think and will need to wear it and try to just be positive and keep a stiff upper lip for now.
Have decided tho i will not be giving him anymore money until he does his jobs round the house at least eg bringing his washing down and tidying his room.gave him 30 quid on fri for a concert and he wants 15 quid tonight to go go-karting with gf and his mates.
Anyway thats the moan over for now, just sad seeing one of my "babies" growing up and away.

evening ladies.

Oh Algach that musy be so hard, my boys are never allowed girlfriends ever, fact.

KBaby, I know just what you mean, I am feeling how will I cope with another baby too, especially as DS1 has been quite a trial this weekend. Adorable in parts, and has LOVED playing in the paddling pool, and he is such a little character, but we went to friends in near Stevenage last night, had a lovely evening, but would he go to bed? Would he buggery. Broke all the rules and brought him back downstairs as his bawling would have woken up their little one, so he spent the evening with the grownups having a lovely time, but it meant he went to bed at 11.30pm and woke us up at 5am, so today I have been unbeleivably knackered and I can't tell you what a releif it is that he is in bed now. He tried it on again tonight but I was determined to let him cry, bedtime is bloody bedtime you monkey! And how hot today? Muggy and no breeze unlike yesterday. DH did most of the childcare this morning while I watched, but was blissfully unsympathetic when I came over all faint retrieving 100,000 plastic balls from the paddling pool clearing up, which i thought was a little harsh.........I AM PREGNANT YOU KNOW!!Angry

I cant believe how close you all sound to actually going into labour, it's all so exciting! I've still got 6 weeks to go, although I did start buying nappies and pads and stuff for the hospital bag yesterday.

Take it easy all of you, don't over do things, and keep us all posted on EVERY development. I'm off to sit still and do very little.

Afternoon all...

Bought two fans yesterday and I am now living next to them... one upstairs and one down. Dh assembled the pushchair/pram thing this afternoon and i feel a bit more in control of things! Next on the hit list is to see if the steriliser works!

Mummytotoby, when i saw the midwife she said that i was 3/5ths... does it have to be 2/5ths before they say its engaged? I think i've got another fifth to go til its engaged! Will be pleased when things move on to the next stage. I think i'd prefer a blast of hard core pain and to get it out of the way than weeks of niggling period pains!

Kayzed.. its wierd how you can feel the hard lumps on your tummy when having the bh's isnt it! i was convinced i could tell what was head/bum before, but have given up trying to work it out now as it all goes so hard!

Kbaby.. why dont you go for a swim or get a friend to take you to see a funny film. DH can hold the fort for a while. It sounds like you need some time to de stress. I've been swimming (well floating really) and its made me much more chilled! Hope you feel better soon. Smile

God i so cant wait to be able to lie on my tummy... and on my back for that matter. And to be able to go for a run, and not feel like a whale!

Right, going to shove my big puffy hooves on a load of cushions!

HumphreysCorner · 11/06/2006 20:27

Girls-I am dying in this heat. Have just had bath no 2 today and am wet through again. I can't get cool-considering sitting in the car with the air con on. Absolutely no breeze today.

agalch-hun, although I have no idea what you must be going through with DS1 I send you my hugs. ((xx))

DD has been a nightmare today and did get shouted at. She keeps telling me not to be horrible Blush

MIL turned up this afternoon with her mother and mother's 'during the war' brother. He even brought his album of black and white photos with him! MIL called me a lobster-huh, just because she doesn't ever sit out and is lily white-at least I look well! She even complained that next door shouldn't be cutting the hedge while we have guests! Honestly-ggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! We also had her round on Friday night bringing DH's birthday present round. I carried on watching BB so she soon left Grin.

DH is being grumpy as he has a B reg wreck of a car sat in the garage and has finally realised it has to go and it is all my fault!?!?!?!

Anyway, must go as the heat is unbearable upstairs so off downstairs to try and cool down before bed. I'll catch up properly tomorrow if I haven't spontaneouly combusted before then!

Love to all

koshka1984 · 11/06/2006 20:59

Hey ladies
I live on a hill and there is no breeze (and they call it windy hill - pah!!)

HC - your car has air con...grr Envy!!

Im with you on unsympathetic DHs, when i got back from the hospital yesterday my DP asked for me to make his tea (i hate cooking it stresses me) and to iron his work clothes!!

If that didnt send my blood pressure up, god only knows but i know i did break the ironing board and it fell on my bump, i was horrified and hid in the living room trying to calm down while he fixed it using a lot of language!

Feet are the size of large pies and the swelling is up to and around my knees - i am the most attractive i have been in years. DP is very impressed with my massive granny pants and granny bra!!

Anyway, moan over, must go lie in bed with flannel over face!!

Morning ladies

Now, how many years would I get for bumping off DH? As you are well aware of the Baby Jungle border saga I worked out 4 rolls but DH said no, we only need 3 so when I ended up with 1 too many from Ebay I sold one on again. Guess what-we do need 4 so will have to bid again and at a loss as they are out of stock again on the Mothercare site. When I sold mine the stock was in so didn't get much for it but now they are out of stock I will pay over the odds again. GGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Onto his car saga-have put it on Ebay and at 11-15pm we had a message from someone who wanted to come from Leeds last night to buy it! I don't think so-what, at 3am in the morning!

Have hoovered the car out this morning, too much bending though.

koshka-when we bought our Astra in April 03 before DD was born in the July the salesman asked what we wanted from a car and having never had air con I said a sunroof. Then he announced that a car had 'just' come in and it had air con fitted for some reason as it is a basic model (no electric windows). Well, I have never been so pleased of anything in my life especially as that year was so hot. Will never buy a car without it again. Poor DD freezes in the back while I blast the cool air out. Blush I did my ironing last night as far too hot during the day. Hope bump and the ironing board are OK. Cooking tea last night was a nightmare due to the intense heat.

bumpy-DH got the sterilser out and I have bought some cleaning sachets from Boots to give it a clean. I asked him to get the car seat out and he said not at the moment as he can always pop home for it after the baby is born. Honestly, any excuse to escape staying in!

Still have a sore throat from hell, I wish it would turn into something or go away.

Have a good day girls.

Bye for now and love to all.

kay1981 · 12/06/2006 09:50

Hi peeps,

Not been on for ages, finishing work soon and as I have no internet connection at home, work is the only place I get to "log on", but been really busy.

Thank god it's raining - hopefully it should all cool down now, sitting in the car with the air-con on was the only way to get some relief yesterday - roll on winter!!!!

Can I ask.... Is it better to pack one hospital bag for me (for during and after labour) and another one for baby, or to pack two seperate bags for me and another one for baby? Keep reading conflicting advice, so thought I'd ask the opinion of people who have actually done it?

Anyhoo hope you all well and cooling down

Chat2Ali · 12/06/2006 10:03

Hello everyone. My Mum and stepdad arrived from Australia on Thursday, and we all went to my cousin's wedding in York this past weekend. It has been busy and hectic and stressful. Since the oldies are out right now am enjoying some blissful peace and quiet and an update from MN. I am still catching up on your posts from last Wednesday, so have a lot of reading to do. Just wanted to say Hi for now, and hope everyone is well, and coping with the heat.
Moan to follow
I am already having difficulty with my parents. Was complaining to Mum about swelling feet, and having to cope with feeling like an unattractive blimp all day at wedding (including nasty looking shoe overhang - just like a muffin top for feet), and my reassuring Mum reminded me for the 3rd or 4th time that when she was pg and telling some of her symptoms to her Dr he said to her that she shouldn't complain and that pregnancy is a sign of "good health". Having had Mum quote me that platitiude before, I said to her this time that she had been unlucky to have such an insensitive Dr, and since he had never been pg himself he had no idea. Then I said it was insensitive of her to keep telling me the same thing, and that shut her up for a while, but GAWD, if you can't complain to your mother, WHO can you complain to? I would rather my MIL was here any day.

Sorry to whinge. Will post again when feeling more positive and when I've caught up on all your news.

Ali ((xx))

AggiePanther · 12/06/2006 10:53

Morning ladies :)
Phew!! Thank heavens it's a bit cooler today, my feet have been like balloons - lol at the 'muffin tops for feet' Ali.(you have a good moan btw...nothing but empathy here :))
Koshka and kbaby you sound like you've both had an exciting few days...glad everything's settled down now.
HC I think you might get off on 'diminished responsibility' (preghead) or I'm sure it could somehow be classed as self-defence Wink

Annie29 · 12/06/2006 11:45

Morning girls.

Still sweltering here in London. I'm actually dripping here, nice haw? Got very little sleep as well last night, DS couldn't seem to settle in the heat, he was up half the night. Lucky for me DH took care of him, but I still didn't sleep. The three of us were sprawled starkers on the bed, and at one point, at around 2am we all went out into the garden to cool down!
Still have some sharp pains on my right side, I think they're stretching pains, they tend to go away when I sit back down. They certainly don't feel like contractions! Or engaging baby head...

Good luck to all of you with engaging heads, and pains, it's getting so close now, we really can't ignore it much longer! Koshka did you go back to the doctor after the football with your wee sample? Hope all is well now.
KZ LOL at laying around like a walrus!! Exactly how I feel, only it's not really appropriate here at work.

Nine loo rolls this morning, almost!
Take it easy everyone

KZ, i feel for you in the heat. I'm not even going outside today, I just can't handle it. There's something about the heat in this country, it's not like abroad, it's much more muggy and close. Still the Brits wouldn't be happy whatever happens, they just love to moan! NO OFFENCE anyone!!! Just going by DH!!!
Hope your contractions are sorting themselves out. People will probably say to ring your midwife just for reassurance. How many weeks are you now? I think everyone is getting some kind of pains this last month or so...

Would anyone grass on me if I skive off early???

IamBlossom · 12/06/2006 14:21

Annie go for it, I'll cover you...

Kay, last time I took one small(ish)bag for labour with my stuff and one outfit and a nappy for LO including hat, and then one bigger bag with all the rest of my stuff and more clothes for bambino. HTH.

MUSt get DH to get the fan down from the loft tonight, when he gets all the baby clothes down, need it NOW. I can't face going outside either, too hot to lie in the sun and get a one sided tan as we can't lie on our fronts, and would generally overheat.

HC - how annoying that you were right all along about the ruddy wallpaper, I'd be LIVID!! It truly has become a saga hasn't it?

Just dropped DS off at nursery, what bliss to have this afternoon to potter, especially as he slept for two hours this morning when I did all my jobs. Got 3 loads of washing on the line, cleaned the kitchen and have just done Tescos, so it's Mumsnet all the way.

TMI alert - anyone else suffering with the old Farmer Giles? The cream I got from the Docs is not working anymore really and it's so uncomfortable.

Right, take care everyone, I think I'm going to go and have a first pass at my hospital bag.

Lots of love,

Bloss

Fan has been going strong Chez Maewest for several nights now, also plenty of lolly ices consumed. Bub was kicking like crazy as huuuuge thunder storm about 5am this morning. Got some good news today - my blood test result for glucose came back 'normal', so don't have to dread seeing the mw on Friday. DH is coming with me so we can talk about homebirth (will be 34 wks). Can't wait to give up work, but hey ho, less than 3 weeks to go. Everytime I sit at my desk it feels like a conger eel in my belly :). Had my baby shower yesterday, which was lovely, also my mum came and it was really nice to see her. Looks like some of you are really getting ready for action - take care (but natch keep us posted of developments). DH is cooking dinner, so better go and do some praise for good behaviour ;)

janeOT · 12/06/2006 20:16

deblaca · 12/06/2006 22:52

boy its hot hot hot (where are you maewest - send that thunder storm down london way please) .... i;ve got feet and legs Shrek would be pround of .... they're HUGE! Had yoga tonight and the slightest movement makes you break out in sweat!

Have 36 wk scan tomorrow, last chance to see wee fella before D Day ..... DH and I have had to come to the decision that we won't be able to have our homebirth (due to building site) so its the hospital for us - trying to remain positive about it all, will aim to stay at home for as long as possible but we'll see

hope you're all keeping cool
xx

pinkdolly · 13/06/2006 09:08

Morning Gals!

How is everyone today? Sorry to hear about those of you suffering in the heat. I dont seem to be doing too bad in that department at the moment.

HC- DH's! who'd ave em! Why cant they just get it into their heads that we are right Wink.

Am currently falling out with my DH as he is annoying me so much. He keeps forgetting that we are going to have a baby soon. Makes all sorts of commitments and then when I say about LO he is like "oh yeah I forgot". I just feel like we are way down on his list at the moment. He is working away and only back at the weekends so his excuse is that it's not real to him yet as he is not here most of the time. Well, it's funny how he remembers all the other things he wants to do! Am very Angry with him at the moment.

I brought myself some raspberry leaf tea at the weekend but am only 34 weeks so holding on for a minute. Not relishing the thought of it anyway as supposed to be minging!

Kay- When I went into hospital I had 2 bags, One for me and one for the girls, found it much easier to locate what I needed when I was there.

I haven't packed my bag yet. Am having a homebirth anyway but need one on standby just in case. Must get on with that.

Well, have a good day, hope it's not too hot for people, definatly looks like it wont be here!

jersey · 13/06/2006 11:14

Morning, just nipping on here before DS arrives back from the in laws. So hot last few days, sat trying to concentrate on my essay notes yesterday in undies! Think I have all the notes together now so can start actually writing the essay now. Trying to do my ironing at 7:30am before it gets unbearable.

Had a lot of aches, pains and generally very uncomfortable at the moment but so far no labour signs. Although not sure if I will know actual labour as was induced last time which I'm told is different, and had lots of strong B Hicks!

Try to keep cool everyone and hope everything has settled down for the early labours!!!

Morning ladies

Have had my boiler serviced this morning Wink, this nice man does it once a year. £45 for 10 minutes!

Decided to defrost the freezer which was heaven but then had a cup of tea so now sweating cobs. DD's 1st bed has just been delivered, perhaps we will get some improved sleep.

LOL at the muffin feet-yesterday I developed ring doughnuts round my ankles and the wedding and engagement ring finally had to come off. Thought I'd got away with doing that this time but no so birth must be imminent!

Anyone else struggling to heave themselves out of the bath? I need baths to soak my poor feet.

pinkdolly-I'm with you on the DH front-although we already have one DD I think DH has forgotten how our world will be turned upside down again. He thinks he is going to take time off work to catch up on sleep and work on his bike. Er, think he is going to have to learn to cook first and clean as I'm putting my foot down! Stand your ground girl-like I'm trying to.

Have only packed one bag like last time. The MW's moaned what a messy bag it was when I had DD-tough, it's my bag not theirs so I'll do what I like with it! So there!!!!

deblaca and jane-good luck with those scans girls.

Hugs to everyone.

Off to chill.
