My mum and her boyfriend have moved everything in my house and they have also cleaned, as every time i move i get massive pain in my bits...
so i oew them massively!!

OH MY GOD!!! im going to be induced tomorrow!!!
I went to hospital today for last check and i was having tightenings and the m/w said if i wasnt being induce LO would be here soon anyway.

Am i the only one who is really scared about the birth??

Afternoon all...

Oooh massive congrats HC and Spub... hadnt logged on for about five days and felt quite emotional reading that there had been a flurry of births! Post some piccies! Hope Jane and Bamboozle doing well too.

Blossom... I too had to go into hosp on Tues and then on Wed because of slow heart beat. It really panicked me. The MW kept saying.. 'its just to be on the safe side' but i heard her ringing the hosp and saying ' slow heart rate and lack of movement' I was a wreck by the time i got there and had visions of the cord strangling the baby. MW also stated that she wasnt 100 percent that baby wasnt breech... what a time to say that!!!

Anyway... went into hosp and spent 1 1/2 hours on the ctg thing and it all seemed fine. It showed up loads of tightenings too. Went back in on Wed for them to do the same and it was all ok... still lots of contractions... but the braxton hicks ones. Hope everything went ok with you. I was told that it could be a bit slower for a number of reasons, as a one off. Keep us posted.x

Kayzed.. how many BH contractions are you getting now? I seem to have them permanently. They dont hurt but feel so bloody hard and heavy. I am walking like a pensioner!

Tues is my due date but i think i am still going to be pregnant at 42 weeks!

Love to all... any more birth news?

Koshka...
Good luck for tomorrow... I'm nervous about the birth part too, but also want to get it out of the way.. feels like the last couple of weeks have gone on forever!

And is anyone else getting really sick of texts and phone calls from friends/family asking if theres any news?!! It's doing my head in!!!

usandbump · 30/06/2006 16:05

So glad you said that Bumpy thought it was just me, I have been ignoring the phone ]blush] but that makes it worse coz when I call them back they say "we thought you might be on your way!"

bumpybel · 30/06/2006 16:06

Kayzed.. I feel them practically all the time when i walk and when i sit up straight! At first I thought it was a novelty and good sign that things were happening but they just dont stop do they!!!

When I wnet on the monitor on tues they were up to 40 and on wed they were up to 80, which got my hopes up, but the midwife said the real ones might be much lower and that it was a different machine!!!

bumpybel · 30/06/2006 16:14

Usandbump!! Ive been call screening for days now!!!! I feel like a right old victor meldrew, but its been getting so much on my nerves with the phone ringing or texts buzzing, asking for news... you think people would know that they'd be told if there had been some news!!!

....And people who want to 'pop over' and see the big pregnant woman before it happens!!! No thankyou... I'm tired and irritable and dont want to have to make an effort!!! God i sound really anti social! I am a nice person normally... honest!

Annie29 · 30/06/2006 17:00

Evening everyone!

Good luck tomorrow, Aggie, and Koshka!

Had midwife appt this morning, and head is engaged, so she seems to think I'm ready to go any minute, and that it'll all be really quick as it's my second. No panic then! So since then I've been having imaginary twinges, backache and emotional outbursts! Whoops!
Trouble is we're packing everything up to move tomorrow (I say 'we', I mean DH!) so I don't know what's going on really... Anyways, just wait and see I suppose...

Good luck to all...

IamBlossom · 30/06/2006 18:53

Evening all.

Sounds like I have had exactly what you had Bumpy - got hooked up to the monitor for 45 minutes and all seems ok, apart from still measuring a bit lower than they would like (113 - "normal" is 110-160) so I have to go back in tomorrow for another go. I am not worried though, baby moved the entire time I was on the monitor and I have felt it since then and am living in Braxton Hicksville.

Spent the afternoon on the sofa at my Mum and Dad's while they ran around after DS and my equaly pregnant sister and I sat there and read the paper and watched the tennis and ate chocolate hobnobs. My dad said we made quite a sight! I can think of worst ways to spend an afternoon!

I'l post after my second sesh at the ossy tomorrow, good luck all being induced tomorrow and those having sections!

Love Bloss

hi girls just to let you know i'm just about to go back to hospital as i haven't had enough movements again and keep getting cramps in my stomache. Will keep you all updated.

Lilianna

nixnoo · 30/06/2006 20:30

hi all,

Lilianna, hope everything is OK? It seems a lot of people are experiencing similar things, so it should be fine.

I went for my growth scan today, fearing a monster baby after my MW's concerns.
Baby's current estimated weight only 6lbs 7!!!!!
So much for the 9 pounder I was told I was carrying.

Saw LO's face, definitely has my lips! It had it's hand up by it's face too, naughty baby. Hope that comes down before the birth.

Feeling pretty good at the moment, even planning a day trip to the seaside tomorrow, just me and DH. Can't walk for long, but as long as we have many breaks (ice cream? food?) it will be fine!

Good luck for tomorrow, Koshka! I am also nervous, but am trying to remain calm about it all... much calmer now that I know my baby isn't going tobreak any records in the weight department!

Can't wait for all your arrival announcements!

Congratulatons to Spub and hub and little Charlie Matthew

Good luck Lilianna, hope all is well with you.

Hope everyone else who is having twinges is hanging in there and that we all cope with the heat thats coming our way over the next few days.

What is it with DHs and the bl**dy football!! Mine is convinced that our LO will arrive during a big England game and even said yesterday that he'd been to a birth before but never seen England win the World Cup

HC god hun im so sorry i missed all the excitement hope things are going good, well done you! big hugs and kisses to you and your family xxxxxxxxxx

Annie29 · 01/07/2006 08:09

Morning everyone,

Lilianna, good luck I hope things are ok with you. You might even have your little un by now...

Well my backache is continuing, but it's not getting any worse, so I guess it's just decided to annoy me for the last two weeks. I even stuck my TENS machine on yesterday for a little while, but it didn't do much else than convince me I was in labour. Nothing doing though. Had a great sleep last night, despite everything.

Getting all packed up and moved today... No time for popping...

Thinking of you two today, Aggie and Koshka, and you Lilianna.

Have a good day, hope the match doesn't get in the way for anyone!!!

Hi everyone

Cloudfish, here it depends on your surgery some see you weekly some fortnightly. If I were you I would make an appointment with my GP in between just to have wee and blood pressure checked.

Have been awake half the night with lots of funny movement from LO and cramps and tightenings thought it could be the beginning of something but last time I looked at the clock was about half three and slept through from then. So think it must have been my body having a practice.

Even dp snapped at his mum last night when she phoned "any news?"
to which he replied " don't you think we would have called you?"
My sister is now taking bets!

I think we should time it to be smack bang in the middle of the final, I think it would have its perks at least everyone will be occupied, family will have had a drink so won't be able to visit and we will be left in glorious peace and quiet hee hee

Have a lovely day all

kbaby · 01/07/2006 08:50

Congrats Spud.

iamblosom- I hope everything is ok now and the CTG showed a good heartbeat.

my blood results came back that I was low in iron so need some supplememnts. Whats everyone else taking?

Have a good weekend.

maewest · 01/07/2006 09:03

Morning all - good luck to all those having twinges and tightenings, babies seem to be coming thick and fast now

Was my last day at work yesterday, they gave me a huge bunch of flowers and some really nice messages from people I've worked with. DH came and picked me up, I got a little bit teary, sounds daft I know, only a job, but it's a small company and I've been there pretty much since the start.

DH was on the phone to his mum last night (his family is about 4 hr drive away) and am bit concerned that ILs are going to come and land on us as soon as the baby is born! DH has assured me that they will be staying elsewhere, but then went on to say that they will be staying in Bristol for about a week... surely this means that they will be in our house ALL THE TIME, not sure I will be able to deal with that, as I have told DH. I know that they are just excited about the baby but don't want to get smothered. Particularly irritating as I have planned with my mum that she will come and stay around due date (she's around 3 hrs away) be around for the birth etc. The plan after the birth is then that my dad and brothers will come and pick her up (pausing briefly to awkwardly jiggle the baby)and take her home, leaving me & DH to get some rest. No doubt she'll come and stay a few times in the first few months, but it will be lovely having her around (and I really do mean that I know not everyone feels that way).

sorry this has turned into a bit of a long one...

maewest · 01/07/2006 09:07

kbaby - I take pregnacare, has multivitamins and iron. Iron that you get prescribed is pretty horrible, bungs you up and you poo little black pellets if anything (sorry TMI). Think there's also some health foody supplement made from seaweed that I've seen mentioned on pregnancy threads which is a bit kinder to your body, but I don't have any personal experience.

Annie29 · 01/07/2006 10:31

kbaby i took fluoridix tablets, they're herbal so they're much easier on the system than the ones prescribed by the doctors. You can get them from any health food shop, and I think in some chemists. about 7 squid for a month's supply. also comes in liquid form but I've never tried that.

Maewest, I'm also dreading my IL's landing on the doorstep as soon as the baby arrives, they did last time round, despite me specifically saying I didn't want to see anyone for a few days. but what can you do, after they've driven four hours to 'surprise' you... [lots of swear words].

Well DH has gone to collect the van, so it looks like we're on the move. Still getting funny feelings but it still doesn't feel like last time, so say nothing for a while!!

Good luck to everyone today. We've finally reached JULY!! So we're all about to pop!!!

Take it easy
