Morning Ladies!

Big Hugs and congrats to spub and little Charlie!!! It is so exciting that things are definatly moving on this thread.

My due date is still 3 1/2 weeks away but seeing my MW on Monday and I am ok for my homebirth anytime from then so will be trying all the tricks...Well not all dH is still working away at the moment!!

Of out shopping today to get the last few items I need for baby and me. And then we are off to Brixham for the weekend. I promised the girls I'd take them to Paignton Zoo, bit of a treat for them b4 LO arrives.

So If this is the last chance I get to post b4 Monday. I hope everything goes well with people having c/s or being induced. Lets get some more babies moving. Good luck everybody!!!

maewest · 30/06/2006 07:24

Congrats spub, spubs hub and charlie matthew

Last day at work today - woohoo! Feel a bit demob happy, but nervous at the same time - time to let go!

AggiePanther · 30/06/2006 07:44

Congrats spub and spubs hub

I'm off to the hospital in about an hour- am quite nervous now - after saying I can't wait for this baby to arrive I'm now nervous that they'll keep me in and induce me - not sure if I'm ready now - eek!
Plus DD woke up this morning and cricked her neck - it hurts when she tries to move it so it looks like no school for her - frantic rearranging going on !!

Congrats Spub and Hub and Welcome baby Charlie!! . Oh we are all on a roll now!!
Was it a very fast delivery, or was it still a section? I'm so thick...

I wonder how Twirl is today...

Good luck tomorrow Koshka, and Aggie, good luck today at the hospital

Annie 38+1

usandbump · 30/06/2006 09:23

Congrats to the spub's and hello Charlie There is news everytime I log on it's so exciting!

Fingers crossed for you Aggie will be thinking of you x

Thinking of getting a birthing ball today, meant to get one weeeks ago but for some reason didn't, now with due date monday I want everything possible on hand to help with the pain!!

kay1981 · 30/06/2006 10:02

Hi and congratulations to all the new mummmies and welcome to their new ones!!

Think about all us who are just about hanging on!!

Is anyone going to use re-usable nappies? If so, which ones and what do you need? I'm slowly being converted to them, but need to know what I need and which are (considered to be) the best?

Please help someone.

Leaving work today - yey but also a bit sad, making it all seem incredible real.

Take care to everyone
xxxxxxxx

entropy · 30/06/2006 10:46

Congratulations Spub, HC bamboozle and Jane!

I can't believe so many babies have appeared already, seems like I have ages left...

Need to ask a quick question to anyone who is around this morning, did you get a visit from the health visitor yet? I have 4 weeks til D-day and she wants to come round this morning! I am having a frantic clean but I just got paranoid that this isn't usual and its cos I am being checked because I'm going to be a disabled mum.

I think I should change my name to paranoia....

Entropy

Straightforward · 30/06/2006 10:46

Congrats to spub, hub and Charlie xxxx

Kay - I'm doing the cloth nappy thing this time round, but starting with a laundry service (DH a bit of an eco-warrior who reckons that's best) - at least I can stop if it doesn't suit me without having shelled out for loads. Failing that, there's always ebay or similar for cheap/second hand ones to try out. Contact your local council, as they've often got a nappy advisor to keep the rubbish down, and some do incentive schemes too.

Good luck twirl and everyone else who's popping!

Straightforward · 30/06/2006 10:52

Hi entropy - no, I haven't had a visit from my HV, neither did I with DD. Your hunch might be right but I would guess you have no reason to be paranoid - most HVs I've come across have been really helpful and bent over backwards to help with whatever I might need, which is probably what yours will do, disability or no disability. Don't worry - they're not checking out whether you're fit to be a mum .

Good luck, and remember - they're supposed to be on our side, and if you feel she's not, there are people you can complain to!

entropy · 30/06/2006 11:01

oh great - that cat has just thrown up everywhere! for a small cat she can make an impressive amount.

just what I needed........

entropy · 30/06/2006 11:13

and it gets better.... I can't find the puke!!!!

I chased her downstairs as we have a new cream stair carpet and laminate flooring downstairs, I heard her puke so I know its out there but she went further than I could see her (only has to be a couple of feet) and its not in any of her usual spots.....

HV due here in 20 mins and no friends that local enough who I could ask to puke hunt at short notice.

so much for the "1 can cope fine thanks" image I wanted to present

IamBlossom · 30/06/2006 11:17

morning girls. Congrats Spub and hub!! GORGEOUS name.

I have just come back from midwife and she said the baby's heart rate is slow, compared to how it has measured previously. So I have to go into hospital this afternoon for a CTG (?) She said that it is most likely that the baby was just sleepy and the heart rate will have returned to normal by the time they monitor it again but to be on the safe side...........am worried, but trying not to panic.

Talk later.

Bloss

entropy · 30/06/2006 12:18

found the site of the accident (down the side of the doormat) with minutes to spare... would have been a lovely site for the HV as I opened the door She asked lots of what seem to me like silly questions, I've never had a baby before so how do I know which parts of looking after him/her I will find difficult! Thought it best not to mention the sweepstake that our friends have as to how long it will be before I put him/her down and not be able to see/remember where....

Blossom, I know this is rich comeing from panic girl but, really try not to worry... I'm sure everything will be fine. Will keep my fingers crossed for you and bump this afternoon.

lilianna · 30/06/2006 12:33

hi, if the heart rate is still showing it is slow they will prob induce you as it can be a sign that baby is distressed.

I wish you all the luck.

puddytat99 · 30/06/2006 12:36

Huge congrats Spud and hub, welcome little Charlie Matthew (gorgeous name)

Bloss - hope everything goes ok at hospital this afternoon

Kay - We're going to give cloth nappies ago this time. Using prefolds, liners and cover, heard they're better than the all in one systems. Bought a birth to potty set (brand new) of eBay.

Went to see consultant this morning and everything ok, so can have mw led birth rather than consultant led She did worry me a bit talking about sweeps and arranging an induction, edd next Thursday. Wants me to have a sweep next Friday if still not popped I'll only be 1 day over by then. Anyone had one before? What's it like? All this is strange to me, DH came 2 weeks early.

Plan to spend the afternoon bouncing on my ball in front of the fan. Take care of all those bumps and babies.

puddytat99 · 30/06/2006 12:38

Entropy - Forgot to say, good luck with HV. See you found the sick. My cats just won't leave me alone at the moment, following me all over the house.

AggiePanther · 30/06/2006 12:57

Entropy - no I've not had HV visit either.
Re cloth nappies - yes I'm doing that this time - I've gone for totsbots (bamboozles and fluffles) although there's a wait for fluffles at the mo. I've got a selection of wraps too - some PU ones and some fleece as well ass some liners and some boosters. For newborns apparently you can jsut use a liner and booster inside a fleece wrap (as they poo little and often)so I'll be doing a bit of that. Have a look at thenappylady.co.uk and kittikins.co.uk - they offer loads of advice (kittikins has free delivery too) or search the archives here, there's loads on nappies HTH

Well I saw the consultant this morning and they're going to induce me tomorrow!!! 2weeks early [nervous emoticon]
She says it could be quick or take a couple of days though - so to be prepared for a wait - but reckons its a better option than leaving me to get more knackered and have chest pain.
So wish me luck ..eek!!!!
DP, DD and I are off to the cinema together this evening as it's going to be our last chance for a while...DP is worried that the baby will arrive during the England game tomorrow - hopefully we'll be able to watch it on the ward and it'll take our mind off the contractions!

AggiePanther · 30/06/2006 12:58

Forgot to say good luck Bloss xx

usandbump · 30/06/2006 14:00

Wow Aggie!!

LOL at footie, we have been joking that I'm going to be in labour during the final. I hope you have a lovely evening together tonight and wish you all the very best tomorrow. Another baby -Yippee!!

usandbump · 30/06/2006 14:02

Sorry Bloss, hope everything is ok this afternoon and hope to see you online later x
