Hi Snowboo,

Well if there is one parent + and the other - you could have bubba being either.

But the + is dominant so there are far more + people of all blood groups running around.
It's approx
85%+
to
15%-
across all groups.

!

SnowBoo · 30/05/2006 12:05

Christenings. Don't. Haven't even had this baby and MIL is trying to organise it all for me! I'm not the most religious person i'm afraid but have had ds Christened. She now thinks its her right to put him down for Sunday School which i've said no to as its the one day myself, ds and dh are together. And she is very Catholic and keeps ramming down my throat so i then get even more adamant i don't want it her way!
So, when baby is born i will plan it in secret....Shhhhhh

SnowBoo · 30/05/2006 12:07

Thanks for that Salamander.

Will get them both checked to be on the safe side.
Dh is going to start giving his rare blood. About time IMO.

Opps, ds is breaking dh's pepperami shouty rubber sausage.....must dash!

PinkTulips · 30/05/2006 12:09

lol, thats our plan for the new baby Snow, sneaky trip to the priest when no-ones lookingWink unfortuately dd is the first grandchild on both sides and i'm an only child so the grandparents are all VERY interested and wild horses couldn't keep the mothers away!

Keep a track of how rare you are, if you know your Group!

SnowBoo · 30/05/2006 12:13

Oh i feel sorry for you Pink. Dh is now the only child after his sis died a few years ago and his dad died 18months before her so MIL is a bit of a clinger. She feels i'm her replacement daughter and we are her new family to take over. Doesn't understand i have a mind of my own....
Hence why she has no interest in my third boy. She wanted a girl so i've let her down! Cheek.

PinkTulips · 30/05/2006 13:06

Shock lovely! thankfully no-one could care less what i'm having this time, for some reason they only get interested once the babies born. then they get to parade the poor child around like a fashion item.

hi everybody!

Arabica you must have the patience of a saint! I really really hope you get some answers today & if not you should threaten a complaint or something.

Snow, this is the only baby we are planning. I know things could change later on but I doubt it, but I would still have the anti-d (if I needed it because Salamander was +) just in case we ever changed our minds.

Yellow - glad you had a lovely birthday!

I am still really ill and trying desperately to get better as Friday is our 5th anniversary and I want to be able to enjoy it!! I feel like I always get sick at really inconvenient times!

Arabica · 30/05/2006 14:33

Am definitely supposed to get a call this afternoon, and when it's all over I will be writing them a letter to explain just how extra-stressful all the waiting has been.
This is my 2nd baby, DS is 5. Am v luckyno Christenings in my family (we're Jewish) and DH's family too far away to have any influencethey're not religious anyway.

YellowFeathers · 30/05/2006 14:36

Good for you Arabica!

BigHotMama · 30/05/2006 16:34

Afternoon ladies, hope you everyone is feeling ok!Smile

Happy berfday Yellow! Hope you get your move soon. This is the last thing you need at the moment.

Arabica, I cant believe your still waiting hun, do they not realise what they are putting you through? Hope you get the results soon x

Lol Snowboo about your surname 'Miles Long'. Guess that wouldnt be fair on the poor kid ha!
Booby your lil gal is lovely and looks all nice n snug on the scan pic. Sounds like you got a really good deal on the package too. And you can see she resembles you already, how mad is that?

Welcome Misty, your not too old ya daft sod! I'm 30 and having my 1st, and I want 3 or 4 altogether nicely spaced out if possible.

LMAO at the sponge-loving laydeez! WTF? Grin

How do I get a bounty pack then? I dont wanna be missing out on any freebies?

Me n DH went shopping yesterday and spent £350 in Mothercare world and Gap. Bought the Avent breastfeeding kit, comes with a free breastfeeding dvd too which I've already watched 10 times since yesterday. Bought a really cute summer outfit from Gap with little suede sandals to match...ahhhhh...so cute! Also got blankets for cot and moses basket, some teddy's for the nursery, bath stuff and towels, and of course just had to treat myself to some summery mat clobber from H&M, nice n cheap too. Also got 2 books, the Jools Oliver 'minus 9 to 1' and a guide to 1st year of baby's life/parenting tips with some yummy recipes for mom and baby. Am off to mama's n papas this weekend to check out their pramette and then off to Kiddisave to get some bargains. Hopefully I'll have nearly everthing sorted in the next few weeks. I feel the need to get organised now! The spare room needs massive sort out though and painting so thats next on my 'to-do' list. Its actually taken me nearly an hour to write this post so I think I should go, sorry its bit long and boring!

30+1 yipee

YellowFeathers · 30/05/2006 16:39

God, you do sound organised BHM!

The Jools Oliver book is quite good. It has some fab recipies in the back so when you get to the weaning stage they'll come in handy.

I've started a couple of threads if anyones interested. I couldn't decide wether to pack my hospital bag yet and write my birth plan just in case we're in between houses but I've decided I will.

666mummy · 30/05/2006 16:47

jools oliver is a great women, anybody got any tips how to start labour???

sarahlou1uk · 30/05/2006 17:43

BHM - you should have got a pack when you had your first scan. In there was a booklet from Bounty and a reply card which you fill in and return. You get another Bounty pack when you go in hospital to have your little one. You can always request one at www.bounty.com when you register or ask your midwife for one. No use to you now, but there is a money off coupon for Mothercare if you spend over £100! Don't forget to join boots parenting club as well. They send you lots of offers and if you are going to be using disposables, you get triple points each time you buy huggies plus a free changing bag when you purchase your first pack of huggies. Smile

Arabica · 30/05/2006 18:53

No phone call from hospital aaaaaaaaaaaargh.... BHM you are SO organised!

YellowFeathers · 30/05/2006 19:03

I've posted on your other thread Arabica.

So so Angry for you.

lunavix · 30/05/2006 19:05

Happy belated birthday YF, You're not much ahead of me :) (was 23 on the 20th)

Maybe we should try and get together for a mini meet after babies are all due, would be lovely as we're such a big group!

Whoever's talking about Bounty packs (sorry to lazy to scroll Blush at your booking in with midwife they're meant to give you a pregnancy leaflet pack, you get a card, go to boots and get a pack. My midwife has decided she can't be bothered with this! Lazy doo dah!

Another one is www.emmasdiary.co.uk you can get a pack of samples from them if you sign up too. More freebies!

olivo · 30/05/2006 19:11

evening!

luna - trekked around to get my emma's diary pack today and as a staunch freebie collector, was mightily narked that it only had a packet of all bran, a tiny tube of stretch mark ceam and a packet of fruit flakes as well as some coupons and leaflets and stuff. hmmmph! have been spoilt by the boots thing obviously!!

arabica - sorry you havent heard still, hopefully tomorrow you'll get some answers.

hope everyone is well.

lunavix · 30/05/2006 19:12

all bran????

Grin
SnowBoo · 30/05/2006 20:34

Well i have now joined up with just about any and every club that promises some sort of freebie! Hey, if i can collect enough free newborn nappies i won't have to buy them for a while! Have also got my mum signing up so she has a limited supply at her house....

All bran? Thats a p take surely?? Why oh why would you want that when pg? How about some nice mummy massage cream or bar of Dove.

(As she sneaks off to register)

olivo · 30/05/2006 20:50

hmmmph, they were bran flakes now that i look, but honestly?!?!?!
could at least have had the decency to slip in something chocolaty....a chunky kitkat for exampleGrin

SnowBoo · 30/05/2006 20:53

Bran flakes? That makes the difference then Wink. Well have sent off for my freebies.

Oh, will go to Bounty, haven't been there yet!

Dh watching football yawn yawn zzzzzzzzzz so i am collecting goodies!

olivo · 30/05/2006 20:59

let me know if you find any good ones (ie - without the bran flakes!)have done tesco, bounty, boots, huggies, pampers and emmas diary.

am currently battling with a maternity allowance application form - looks like i'll have to go and see someone as there doesnt seem to be a place to explain that i am actually hoping to start my maternity leave 2 weeks after my due date. i hate confusing things like this!especially with my current state of baby brainWink

SnowBoo · 30/05/2006 21:05

Don't even go there with the mat allowance! Due to someone elses cock up i'm having to try and apply for it but its a bloody nightmare! I'm sure SMP is easier to deal with.

So why mat pay AFTER baby born? Can you do that? Might be worth thinking about, make my life easier.

olivo · 30/05/2006 21:15

don't be fooled by mine snowboo - i'm in the channel islands so different setup here. i'm hoping to work up to the end of term so that i can claim normal pay from work till start of sept term, then my 12 weeks mat pay from then. the pay roll people have given me a print out thing showing mat benefit deducted from what work will give me,so if i dont get the benefit, i'll be very short of cash!
why do they have to make everything difficult? I'm doing it that way also as it gives me more time off with the baby, wont have to go back till easter.
