Gosh and i thought mine was confusing! And i actually work fro dh and his business partners but he can't get involved. Office politics and all that.
Well good luck with it.

I'm off for a bath and bed as feel woozy and sick and want to sleep.

Night night all x

olivo · 30/05/2006 21:28

yeah, think i'll give up for now too and wait for someone to explain it all properly to me!

goodnight all!

PinkTulips · 30/05/2006 22:32

well i've totally depressed myself by going shopping when i've no money to buy anything. why is everything on sale when you're broke but not when you have money Angry

my mom annoyed the crap out of me today (again). she posted me a dress that she now seems to presume i'll be wearing to dd's christening. it's hideous! it's a weird flouncy bright red shift dress that doesn't fit right and even if it did isn't something i'd ever wear. looks more like something you'd wear to the beach (if you can pull off all over lurid red when preg) than to a formal event. and guaranteed i'll be called and ungratful spoilt brat when i say i'm not wearing it even though i didn't ask for it Angry

can't wait til dd and bump are older so i can do the exact opposite of everything my mother has done to me! i mean for fucks sake if she wanted to buy me something why not bring me to the shops with her to pick something?

o dear, honestly didn't mean to rant that long Blush sorry.

OP posts:
olivo · 31/05/2006 08:39

dont mean to laugh at your misfortune pinktulips but pmsl at the red dress! you'll have to tell her it didnt fit or accidentally spill something on it the morning of the christening!

i know what you mean about sales and things - i wish i'd bought a bit more earlier on when the sales were on.

hope you have a better day today x

melsy · 31/05/2006 08:55

Talking of shopping I bought loads of stuff in hennes, skirts, crops, shorts , and I look like an umpaloomp in all of them, big fat and round. All I have to wear on the bottom is cargos and jeans with over the bump elasticated things from dd's pregnancy, which I find SOOOOOOOOOOO uncomfortable.

I quite like red PT , not sure as a whole dress with bump!!!. Isnt it a mare when MIL buy revolting things.

Salamander · 31/05/2006 10:13

Just wanted to have a morning midweek moan.

Hope you all don't mind....

So I went to give blood last night after work - in the hope that I could find out my blood-group/Rhesus Factor and do my bit to ascertain whether little Alexander is Negative or Positive...

Now, I had a childhood illness that means I have always lived with a condition called Diabetes Insipidus (it's not Diabetes) - never causes me problems, but i do take medication daily.

Well, they looked that up and it says OBLIGATORY - MUST NOT DONATE. Not because there is anything wrong with my blood, but for 'my own benefit'... the Blood Donation nurse didn't know why, her doctor on-call didn't know why, and I limped out of there none-the wiser and full of blood.

Sad Sad Sad Sad

I know it's probably for the best, but fluey/coldy Eeny is phoning the GP today to see if I can beg again to have a normal blood test.

Ugh!

Oh, and poor Eeny is still completely unwell and very upset because she wants to be healthy for our 5th Anniversary on Friday 2nd June.

Phew!!! OK - MOAN OVER....
Angry

How annoying, Salamander! If it's any help, I used to get refused, because I use asthma medication. However, they do have a medical team you can contact via the website and you could ask them why you can't donate. I did this and they said it was fine--although just before I was due to donate I discovered I was pg, so I never went.
And before anyone asks--I have called hosp again and still waiting for that elusive telephone call.

dressedupnowheretogo · 31/05/2006 11:53

Salamander · 31/05/2006 11:55

Hi Arabica,

Well they told me that they were going to check to see what the deal was. They checked with the medical team and no-one knew why - there was No Reason Given in the notes!!??

They are contacting my GP and pushing it higher for some answers.

It'll all be a moot point really in a while anyhow as Wifey Eeny will have her Anti-D appt!

We can only try can't we?

Salamander · 31/05/2006 12:14

Miriam Stoppard knows her stuff Booby!

We're having the day together and plan to drive out to Lavenham on the Essex Suffolk border - supposed to be lovely.
We have NO CASH AT ALL so unfortunately cannot do all the things we'd want to do Sad but we'll have what's important - each other.

And after all, that's what it's all about, ain't it? Smile

Salamander · 31/05/2006 12:19

Thanks Tulips!

That sounds like WONDERFUL organisation!
Sounds like you have the chance to make it whenevr you fancy then!! :o

dressedupnowheretogo · 31/05/2006 12:35

my mw does that too tulips and she has had three weeks off and the surgery have not provided a releif and there is no doctor in on the day she is supposed to be nhs for you

olivo · 31/05/2006 12:39

booby - my anti-d tomorrow too -and i'd been invited out to lunch and have had to cancel as imy apt is at 1.30 Angry. my gp told me not to worry, just like normal injection........

off to meet dh on his lunch break so at least we can sit in the sun together!

Salamander · 31/05/2006 12:42

That's crap about the MW.
Do you just have one assigned to you?

We are lucky enough to have a team here - so doesn't matter if one isn't around. All you have to put up with is differing ways and amounts of professionalism.

dressedupnowheretogo · 31/05/2006 12:52

im in at 1 40 and off to meet my hubby in abit as we are going to pick carpet for baba's room

Salamander · 31/05/2006 12:56

Good Luck Booby & Olivo.
Look forward to hearing what it was like.

Hopefully you will be able to enlighten the rest of us and put us out of our misery.

Are you the first two in this group??

eenywifemum · 31/05/2006 13:56

hi there everybody!!

well apparently I slept through an attempted delivery this morning of THE CAR SEAT! It's being redelivered tomorrow & I am so excited I cant wait to see it and hope I like it lots!

Pinktulips I am sorry about the mum/red dress thing. I am SOOOO NOT close to my mother. Luckily she lives in America but she wants to come over and meet the baby next April and I am in turmoil over it. I know how disapointing it is when you have a less than ideal relationship with THE MOTHER. I think Olivo's advice is good - dont wear it if it isnt right you will always be annoyed about it!

booby & olivo - good luck to both of you for your anti-d! I am looking forward to hearing about it!

Booby I saw that thread re: hosp bag - its great!

dressedupnowheretogo · 31/05/2006 14:02

i stupidly have asked for advice on spelling charlie or charley for our lil girl and they are all being horrid Angry but to be honest they are saying the stuff i know the family is gonna say which is why we are not telling them til we have her

Salamander · 31/05/2006 14:02

Hi There Eeny!!!!
