HI SALAMANDER HERE... THE REAL ONE!!!!!

I hope there is no-one out there filing a paternity suit against me!?!?!?! Shock

I can categorically state that this would be an impossibility.

I still don't have my log-in at home (duh!) but wanted to come on here and state for the record:
I have one wife
She is pregnant with my child
I work for the NHS...

hang on...
it's becoming clearer now...

maybe they've stolen some of my DNA for their laboratories!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grin Grin

Eeny has been in bed all BH weekend with the flu. Sad

MISTY - WELCOME TO THE BOARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Salamander (the real one)

eenywifemum · 29/05/2006 17:15

Misty seriously though I am really sorry you are having a hard time. That sounds so upsetting. You can always come on here to talk if you need to! I know you are going to worry loads but (I would too) but I'm sure your baby will be lovely and fine! Do you know what you are having?

Misty10 · 29/05/2006 17:22

:)
Hi guys ...
Sorry to have confused you all !

My hubby and I work for the nhs ... in lurve .. and having our first kiddie together ... a boy ... (although he doesnt know the sex). You lot are into gals I see ... obviously there will be plenty of choice out there for 'charlie' when he is old enough for that sort of stuff ! Go fella !!!

I know they will take care of me in hospital however the unit did frighten me witless ....

And on the mums thread ... my dear mum died only 12 months ago .. the really sad thing is she was 'waiting for me to have my first baby' before she died, she so much wanted to be involved .... but didnt live to see this special day .. sad for both me and mum and young 'charlie' ... mother in law not so bothered tho .... typical !

Hubby away until Thursday now so I may be on during the week (had last week off work, back again tomorrow) .... thing is I have got used to a nap mid afternoon ....

Nice to meet you all.
Misty

eenywifemum · 29/05/2006 17:27

Misty we are having a boy too! What is your due date? How can your husband stand you knowing the sex and him not? Dont you give it away all the time by lingering over blue clothes?

Misty10 · 29/05/2006 17:32

Hubby didnt ask me if I asked for the sex ... he knows I wanted to know but has refrained from asking me if I actually know or not ... He has said 'charlie boy' on the odd occaision ... but that was before I even know. I only found out last wednesday at my 30 week scan so has been ok so far. My sister will buy boy things and keep at her place (she is the only other one that knows) and if I see anything I will send it home with her ! Hubby has a girl who will be 13 1st August ... my due date is 9th August, but consultant says I will be induced at 29 weeks ... ie 2nd August ... hubby says its NOT to be the same birthday as his girlie .... of course I'll see what I can do, there must be some allowances for 'when' you are induced ?
When are you due ?
Misty

Misty10 · 29/05/2006 17:34

I mean induced at 39 weeks (and that is if all keeps going to plan with my diabetes) I have 2 more scans so if babes starts getting big I could be induced anytime from 36 weeks on !

YELLOW FEATHERS!!!!!!

Grin HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! Grin

olivo · 29/05/2006 17:40

Ah, it all falls into place!

sorry to hear you've been freaked by the hospital visit Misty, it must be difficult to have extra things to worry about. We are going next weekend to see the maternity ward here - best to be prepared I guess.

I'm amazed at your self discipline with your dh not knowing what the baby is - my dh wanted to know and i didnt but he'd never have had the self control to keep it to himself so we didnt find out. have you still bought everything really neutral?
Salamander - hope eeny is feeling a bit better.

luna / yellow - i used to do that sponge thing when i was younger - maybe i need to buy a couple in now....Wink

olivo · 29/05/2006 17:41

oh and yellow - happy birthday!!

eenywifemum · 29/05/2006 17:41

Misty - I'm due on 1 Sept but scans have indicated he will be born mid Aug. You and your DH have a restraint me and Salamander dont have - I am TERRIBLE at keeping secrets from him! Well done!

dressedupnowheretogo · 29/05/2006 17:42

by the way does my link work ? otherwise its under the memeber profiles as my lil girl at 27 weeks 6 days

didnt tell my mum i was upset cant be arsed her loss

hi misty btw hope your well nice to meet you

Misty10 · 29/05/2006 17:44

Everything I have got is neutral, hubbys sister has given me a pile of boys stuff (she is not having anymore and said IF I have a boy I could have em .... so they have been put away in a drawer (washed and ready tho !) for the time being.

I think because no one came with me to the unit didnt help me, and coz I dont have mum and still missing her terrible that probably makes me slightly more hormonal anyhow, I am sure you will be fine Olivio, is this your first too ?

Misty

olivo · 29/05/2006 17:47

yes it is my first - its so scary isnt it? you'll find mumsnet really helpful though hopfully (i have and i'm now addicted!)- and its nice to be able to give help and reassurance in return when you can.

booby - couldnt work your link but will have a look on member profiles
eeny - you're here! thought it was your dh posting!

olivo · 29/05/2006 17:49

omg booby -that is an amazing picture!!she's gorgeous!

dressedupnowheretogo · 29/05/2006 17:51

yellow feathers/ nbg happy birthday

misty how have you not told your dh it would kill me we are telling and in rl the name and that is doing me in never mind not telling anyone the sex you are sooooooooooo good

bought more pink today again have decided to start on reds and teals and purples but not together spent 38 quid in toys r us on two dummies door catches socket covers infacol gripe water germolene sudacreme kamoline nipple cream an oral thermometer cottonbuds teething gel gum massager spensive this baby lark

Misty10 · 29/05/2006 17:56

We do 'monthly' shops at Tesco's ... each month I have been buying up nappies, sudocrem, babybath, nappy sacks, talc, grip water ... etc etc ... that should help me by the time babes arrives ... probably only get one more of those shops in now, babes will arrive July I rekon, so the end of June shop will have to consist of lots of babes things ....

Can anyone advise the sort of dummy to get, I see cherry ends, and then the flatter ones too ...

Thanks
Misty

eenywifemum · 29/05/2006 17:58

Hi Olivo - Salamder posted the once under my name because he still cant remember his password and its on his work computer! But this is me! I am still really ill, been in bed all weekend basically and am so disapointed over that because I was so looking forward to the long weekend with DH. I couldnt sleep AT ALL last night and was so miserable I really lost it!

Booby - I love your pic!!!! That is so lovely!!! I am really wishing now we had booked a 3d or 4d scan!! Your DD is beautiful!

eenywifemum · 29/05/2006 18:01

Misty - all I can say on the dummy front is that you should have a couple of different brands of them handy. My friend whose baby is 8 weeks now found when he was born that he totally rejected some and loved others (happened to love the ones me and Salamander got him! (orthodontic ones) :)) So if you are keen to use them I would have a few different types just in case.

Did you all see the study in a P & B a few months ago that said if you put your baby to sleep with a dummy it reduces the risk of SIDS by an amazing 92%!?!?

eenywifemum · 29/05/2006 18:04

well ladies it's been fun! Am signing off now to either go back to bed or watch fake masterchef (great british menu)

speak to you later!

Misty10 · 29/05/2006 18:08

Thanks eeny.

Hope you soon feel better !

I am off to walk my mad springer spaniel now before it rains .. its been lovely all day here in Cornwall.

I am not poorly but do have something going on with a ligament which keeps me awake or tossing and turning all night .... would massage help from a professional or do you think that that sort of thing only benefits you while it is going on ?

Speak a bit later.
Misty

PinkTulips · 29/05/2006 18:17

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FEATHERS Grin

booby, she's gorgeous, i'm so Envy you get to see your baba before august

hi again misty, snap on the due date btw, although i have my doubts about the accuracy of mine! if your going to be breastfeeding you need to get orthodontic dummies that are shaped like nipples, avent and nuk are the most popular, get both because like eeny said babies are picky little sods, dd hated the nuk and loves avent.

sorry your still feeling rough eeny, sending you big {{{hugs}}}

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXHAPPY BIRTHDAY YELLOWFEATHERS xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Hope you get yuor wish of moving very very soon.

Hope you feel better by tommorow eeny , flu is nasty at best of times. Anyone made you jewish chicken soup , ill have to send you some if not!

Hi Misty , should have said hi this morning , but I was half asleep on sofa with laptop this morn. Massage would be benficial , if anything to help relaxation , but better would be acupuncture or if scared of needles , then a couple of sessions of Bowen technique (non invasive gentle pressure techinque), would help with ligaments. Im looking into this myself , as have physio starting in the next week for my poor weak back , as this is 2nd pregnacy and my back was terrible last time, its come back to haunt me.

Eeny that statistic is very high wityh SIDS , my word wow, need to look into that further, I must say Ive never used dummies at all, just not ever been used in any of our families. I suppose its what you get used to.

melsy · 29/05/2006 18:30

Do you reckon this is the largest ante natal grp on here !!!????

Misty10 · 29/05/2006 18:56

Hi ya ... back again ...

Think I may book a massage middle of the month ... I have 4 weeks left at work and my back kills me just driving to work (20 mins) let alone sitting at a desk all day ... I do get up and make frequent cups a tea and I feel my microwave cherry stones (heated) do help too ... as will having the whole bed to myself for the next few days ... hubby was slightly put out that I was excited by that prospect, and not sad that he was going !! OOOpppsss
More boys than gals on that list I see.
Am I old at 34 to be having my first ?
