Yellow - WOW!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Salamander and I are both really happy for you!! You can finally get settled in and stop worrying about giving birth in the moving van!!! Hope you arent away from MN for long! YAY!! :)

Ok Sal got home and we got to open the presents!! EEEEEEEEEEE!!! I LOVE BABY PRESENTS!!! Besides the beautiful blanet I mentioned earlier there were some really adorable baby clothes that I just adore!! Proper little man outfits! :) And some really cute tiny shoes!! oooh ok is there anything better than baby presents???

Luna I'm sorry you are feeling so poorly!! God its not easy being pregnant is it?? If your eyes are feeling raw and sore try putting a cool wet flannel on them & see if that takes the edge off. I have to add my voice to the chorus saying your appointments shouldnt be that far apart - I havent got to that stage yet but I thought they were every 2 weeks towards the end.

Salamander wishes me to tell you all that he is very cross Angry with you for encouraging me to open the presents without him! Grin

PinkTulips · 08/06/2006 23:27

Sad luna, no helpful advice i'm afraid. hope the hayfever eases a little, pray for some rain!

congratulations feathers! you must be so relieved to finally get things moving. you'll be well settled in for baby now at least.

i'm having such a mental block about my hospital bag, really don't want to be going into hospital at all and planning on leaving after the 6 hour limit so it feels wrong to have to pack a bag just for that. really don't want to have to buy maternity pads either as i can't face the thought of all that bleeding again! it went on for 5 weeks last time Sad

are all of you having the heatwave too? it's insanely hot over here, even our usual lovely sea breeze seems to have been burned alive.

Another sneezer here! Am using Nasonex which my asthma clinic prescribed for me, it's really helping although symptoms are still around.
You can get pg-friendly eye drops from chemist, but I use cooled chamomile tea to bathe mine when they're itchy.
Re appts, local policy is first-time mums get appts every 2 weeks after 30 weeks, but the rest of us get 30wks, 34, and 38, plus 41 if you go overdue.
My BP was 110/67 last time.

eenywifemum · 09/06/2006 09:28

PT - not to sound negative but its probably a good idea to pack a full hosp bag just in case something goes wrong and you need a stay. Even though that is totally unlikely it would stop any last minute scrambling around. And we are having a heatwave here, it's luuuvly!

Ok I know most of you work and or have kids so you are going to think I am really dreadfully lazy but as I have been signed off work I just sleep until I feel like getting up. As I usually have terrible insomnia all night long I dont go to sleep properly until about 4 or 5 a.m. so I usually sleep until 11:30. Well I didnt sleep as usual last night but I had to get up at 8:30 because today is an NCT coffee morning I go to... and I just want to crawl back in bed!! A good cup of tea and mumsnet is slowly waking me up...

lunavix · 09/06/2006 09:33

Ahh that probably explains it, and they've just shoved my 34 weeks to 36 and fobbed it onto the doctor lol!!! It still beats the amount of apts I had with ds (2 midwife and 1 consultant, under consultant care!)

Thank you all for sympathy, managed to sleep last night with the aid of some eyedrops and the homeopathic remedy... thankfully.

YF - CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!! You must be sooooo chuffed.

Eeny and Salamander - so cmon whatcha get whatcha get? Grin

purpleturtle - not just me low then, mw was very surprised and said I should be feeling ill??? lol I said just itchy!

Arabica · 09/06/2006 10:51

Congrats on the move YF!
I'd also recommend packing full bag. I was supposed to have a home birth and when the midwives were too understaffed to come out to me at home, went into hospital assuming I'd have my water birth there. Got out 5 days later having had C/s! Luckily I had packed a few extras but not enough clothes for me or DS, toiletries, sanitary towels etc, and kept having to send DH off with shopping lists when I would have preferred that he just stay at the hospital with me.

Salamander · 09/06/2006 12:02

Hi EVERYONE!

Congrats on the moving date Yellow!!!! Wonderful news. Eeny's sister just moved and although (OBVIOUSLY) moving is stressful - the relief afterwards is such an amazing thing.
Sinking into whatever furniture you have available that first night - just the best! And then enjoying your new home that you've fought for!!!!!! :):):)

Glad the info I found has been useful - keep us posted about your Nan.

RIGHT OK - PREZZIES!!!!! I'm sure Eeny will want to boast until the end of time about the excellent bounty we received from the ex-colonies.

But I Will Just Tell You that Rachel included an outfit that blew me away. It looks like soemthing Alexander would wear walking off a yacht in St.Tropez! Grin

It's these blue kind of sailing trousers, a stipey starched shirt with button down collar and a light blue sleevless woollen pullover with pipping and ribbing!
It is hilariously fabulous.
He will look like the smarmy playboy killers off Columbo who live in those houses up in the LA hills!

FABULOUS RACHEL - WELL DONE!!!!!!!

Salamander · 09/06/2006 12:06

Apologies for my spelling by the way - as you can see I am clearly still over-excited!
Wink

YellowFeathers · 09/06/2006 12:57

Thanks for the well wishes everyone Grin

Tbh I've just gone into stress/panic overload. It got a bit much this morning and I ended up having a massive crying session. Just the thought of packing everything in 6 days and everything else to do with moving and feeling crap on top of it. It gets a bit much at times.

But I've spent the morning ringing round relevent people cancelling and setting up stuff which seems to have taken my mind off things and spoke to some lovely call centre people Grin

Sarahlou, had to pay full amount for removal with it being so close to date. We're using Pickfords though, so a well known national company. At least we should be able to rely on them.

Only thing is that we have to wait for them to deliver the boxes for us to pack. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Eeny and Sal, what a lovely friend you have. Those presents sound fab!

Salamander · 09/06/2006 13:10

Hopefully you will get those boxes quickly and can get started. Once you get a few things in boxes the place will really start to look different and you'll know it isn't far away.

then it'll all be over before you know it!

eenywifemum · 09/06/2006 13:42

Yellow sorry about how you are feeling. I dont blame you - I would totally help you pack if I could!! :)

Ok is anyone else still throwing up??? I had/have hyperemesis so I know that is different to morning sickness but it's such a drag to be throwing up still in your 3rd trimester!! Where was my easy trimester??? Arent you supposed to get one of those? Envy

olivo · 09/06/2006 14:01

hi everyone!

eeny - I have started getting very nauseous and being sick again, although i did have a good 10 week break in the middle so i cant complain too much. I think the heat doesnt help much either.

cannot wait to get out of here and into the sun for the weekend - would willingly hurl myself into the sea right now, i'm so flippin hot!

abuot bp - mine has gone from 135/80 at pwks to 120/60 last wekk - does this sound normal? i guess so as no one has said otherwise!

olivo · 09/06/2006 14:02

oh, and guess what? they might be getting abirthing pool here so I might get to have a wtaer birth - i'm soooo excited!Grin

eenywifemum · 09/06/2006 14:33

Olivo I would LOVE to go jump in the sea, god that sounds so great in this gorgeous weather!! I really hope you get a water birth - as long as it all goes to plan that's what we are having and I am really looking forward to it. And just think how much more appreciated it will be when its nice & hot!

katylou25 · 09/06/2006 16:11

Hi everyone

Well like YF we finally got our moving date too - a week monday - and contracts and everything finally exchanged so we're definately moving this time! Am up to my eyeballs in boxes wihich ds is 'helping' me pack - have just removed a squidgy bit of banana from one of them - so glad I found that now instead fo in a week and a hlfs time!!

Am just waiting for DH to come in from work and then we're off for a picnic on the beach - can't wait to jump into that sea with DS - will leave the serious business of building sandcastles to DH though!

preparingfor2 · 09/06/2006 17:01

ALl this talk of the sea is making me homesick for Australia - I am v Envy of those of you with water nearby.

Had full GTT this morning (my third!) and BP check at GP this afernoon. Olivo, my BP has been up around yours the whole time so far, hence weekly checks. Did they say why it had dropped? Can't be a bad thing tho can it?

purpleturtle · 09/06/2006 17:28

Olivo, to my (albeit medically untrained) mind, your BP sounds perfectly within the realms of normal. I'm a freak. Wink

Also, for those of us who are going to go 2 weeks over, starting to pack a hospital bag at only 30 weeks+ seems a bit premature. I guess I'll get round to it eventually. I think last time I just gathered everything I wanted together, so it was ready for my planned homebirth, but could be shoved into a bag to take to hospital if necessary.

YellowFeathers · 09/06/2006 18:09

Katylou, am really pleased for you. Good luck with all the packing Grin

Olivo, 120/60 is totally normal BP. Mine is always 120/60 70 regardless of wether I'm pg or not.

Eeny and Olivo, I don't know if this will help you or not with your sickness but I have been given some great advice and tips on here, to help with how I'm feeling.
I've started eating little bits but more often again and things that are have a low GI value. So lots of fruit, salad and wholewheat foods.
I've been snacking on all sorts of fruit all day, eating wholemeal bread and using ryvita and humous as another snack. I think its helping already as I've been doing a few bits and not felt crap!
Just tucking into a lasagne with spinach and rocket salad!

olivo · 09/06/2006 19:50

thanks folks - (i was meant to write 9wks not p weeks!!), had never been told what normal bp was!

yellow- will try the low GI thing (she says, stuffing her face with lemoncakeGrin)- I know if I have fruit after about 6pm i just get really bad heartburn. it would all be alright if I could just have my favourite wholemeal toast and peanut butter!!

hope everyone has a great weekend x

Arabica · 09/06/2006 23:45

I'm doing low GI too to see if it would help with the swollen ankles. It hasn't, but I feel less bloated amd generally slightly more energetic.

sarahlou1uk · 10/06/2006 08:36

Morning everyone. DS was up at 7am this morning - he came in my room to tell me that the sun had got up so he wanted to get up! Have done 3 machine loads of washing and pegged them out. Am now grabbing a bit of peace and quiet while he watches cbeebies for 1/2 hour. I wouldn't mind but he didn't go to sleep until 11pm last night because he was full of energy! Oh well, hope I get a lie in tomorrow but I doubt it! Grin

sarahlou1uk · 10/06/2006 17:57

Where has everyone gone? Is everyone out enjoying the sun? Grin

eenywifemum · 10/06/2006 21:00

Hi Sarahlou!! Me & Salamander have indeed been enjoying the weather - although I stayed in the shade!! At a friends BBQ today.

Katylou - congrats on your moving date!!! Isnt it a relief?!

Thanks for the advice Yellow - I am so annoyed with myself, I was late taking my anti-sickness pills today and I feel rotton now. Ugh!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!!

sarahlou1uk · 11/06/2006 14:42

Think everybody is out again today or recoving from yesterday!!!

eenywifemum · 11/06/2006 19:41

Hi sarahlous, yes I think the weather has captured our fellow mumsnetters!! We went out for a bit today but the heat REALLY bothered me and I just couldnt take it. I felt hotter than I could imagine feeling!! So the rest of my day has been spent sitting in front of a fan trying to keep cool!
