Yellow I'm glad you've had a good hard kick!! Hope the doctor can tell you what is going on. Good luck!! I know when I had the flu really bad last week Alex didnt move much at all and I got concerned. After doing all the things Salamander mentioned on his list below I finally got him going!

I am 28 weeks on Friday so still have a little ways to go before I need a hosp bag but we are going to have it ready at 30 weeks so next weekend I think I will have to do a big shopping thing for it! I think it sounds like such fun!! I've heard flip flops are better to take than slippers because whatever is on your feet will get wet from you dripping, walking in the bathroom etc. Anybody know if that is true?

Micku5 · 07/06/2006 13:31

Hi all,
Eeny I'm taking flip flops with me because I have take them into the shower if I have to and as it will be summertime, I find I tend to wear them more then my slippers.

YellowFeathers · 07/06/2006 13:33

Ah well
Dr been, said nothing. BP is fine. She has told me to take immodium for the diarreah (gave me a prescription) and drink lots of water.

I just can't be left on my own in case I pass out so I have to stop at my MILs tonight as dh has to go and teach a course tomorrow in Watford so she can look after me. Its so frustrating and horrible.
She did say that bloods are repeated at 32 weeks Shock!
Needless to say I'm ringing the MW to come out and do them.

Eeny, I would say flip flops would be good. I was told to buy mule type slippers so that you can just slip them on when you get out of your bed but since its summer flip flops would be good.

Micku5 · 07/06/2006 13:34

Hi all,
Eeny I'm taking flip flops with me because I can take them into the shower if I have to and as it will be summertime, I find I tend to wear them more then my slippers.

Went for my midwife appt today and all seems well. Am 28 weeks today so have at least 10 weeks left before I have my section. Have started buying a few bits and pieces for my bag and rummaging around in boxes and crates (still in the garage) for things I know I had from last time.

Have my GTT on Friday at 9.00 and am not looking forward to it... from what I hear I have to plan to be there for at least 3 hours Sad will have to find a decent book to take with me.

olivo · 07/06/2006 13:40

thanks Sal - anything I can do in my classroom without my students thinking I've REALLY lost it?!?!?!Wink Grin

And Jersey is lovely!! just a bit claustrophobic from time to time!

PinkTulips · 07/06/2006 13:49

olivo, try doing you're pelvic floor excercises, always annoys mine! somebody suggested a good poke though and i have to say thats what i usually do.... lay your hand on the bump and sorta push from side to side IYKWIM? a bit like kneading dough but with your hand flatter. you'll usualy get a good whack after a minute

Yellow you poor thing! You've been struggling with feeling faint for a long time now, havent you?

Thanks all for the feedback about flip flops, they will be on my shopping list!!

I am so annoyed. I tried to pick up my birth to potty nappy pack last weekend and it wasnt in stock so they said they would be in this week. I just spoke to the store to check it would be in by Saturday and they have changed it now to NEXT week. It's not as if I need them now, baby is obviously a long way off, but I wanted some retail therapy and to have a play with my nappies. And the reason they gave me is so stupid. Ugh. All I wanted is to spend some money on some baby things and have some fun and every time I try to do that something silly goes wrong. Sorry for the bitch I just had to blow off some steam. I know its a stupid thing to be annoyed about but you know what its like when you are looking forward to something and it keeps getting put back. I have been really good and not spent much at all on the baby so I was looking forward to this & I am seeing some friends on Saturday and wanted to show them the nappies.

olivo · 07/06/2006 14:02

cheers PT - will give it a go!

SnowBoo · 07/06/2006 14:16

Micku, when i had my GTT i spent the three hours sleeping at hosp and then when dh got me home went back to sleep for a while! Make the most of it. For the best part of said three hours i didn't actually see any nurses or anyone so it was very peaceful!

Will pack my bag this weekend. BUT i've got nowhere to put it as the house is upside down.

Hot and bothered today. Not wearing much either, just a linen skirt (H&M mat wear, lovely!) and a vest top but still like a pig in summer....

Salamander · 07/06/2006 14:18

"Well I've just been kicked that hard that my boobs have almost hit me in the face"

HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAH - YELLOW!!!

Well done!!!!

Salamander · 07/06/2006 14:21

Eeny!!!!!!

I'm really sorry about that!!!!!

Pick something fun from 'The List' and you can retail-therapise the hell out of that on Sat AM.

Alternatively - peruse some more mummy outfits on ebay!!!!

Your Salamander

eenywifemum · 07/06/2006 14:50

its ok sorry everyone for my rant about a relatively silly problem!! Ugh I just really wanted to go baby shopping this weekend!! Over it!

sarahlou1uk · 07/06/2006 15:35

Yellow.... just read your other thread on pregnancy and feeling crap in mornings. Somebody else mentioned taking the iron supplement - Spatone. Well, I've got a box of this that I was sent FOC so if you want me to send you a couple of sachets for you to try before you go and buy a full box, email me; sarahlou1uk at hotmail dot com

sarahlou1uk · 07/06/2006 15:37

By the way everyone, flip flops are definately better for hospital instead of slippers! You will need them in the shower unless you have your own room and own shower facilities! I'm 30 weeks today and have decided that I am going for a home birth with a pool. Have just ordered my pool - now got to wait until it arrives and I can time how long it will take to set up!! Eeny - I will be using Tots Bots nappies which I have had for a while now. I have even been practising on a large teddy to make sure I can do them up!!!! Grin

eenywifemum · 07/06/2006 17:21

sarahlou - glad I'm not the only one who wants to practise on fluffy toys!! :) My cats are lucky I can restrain myself against trying nappies out on them!

YellowFeathers · 07/06/2006 17:31

Sarahlou, thank you for that. Can I let you know as the MW wants to see me either tomorrow or next week. They have said they will come to me to take my bloods so if they come back low then I would love to try some of the Spatone.
Thank you Smile

Had to roll my eyes at the Gp though. She didn't know what Spatone was!

Eeny, I totally understand you wanting to play with the nappies. (Don't tell anyone but I keep secretly folding and unfolding all the baby grows Blush God knows why?!)

Have started the latest Harry Potter book so that I have something to take my mind off things. Dh has read a whole Dan Brown book today, in the sun and now looks like a lobster lol!

pucca · 07/06/2006 17:36

Hello everyone Smile

YF...Sorry to hear you not feeling so good, hopefully all ok soon for you, and you will start to feel better Smile the weather probably isn't helping either, it is so HOT today!!

I am suffering as with my dd she was a winter baby (born Jan), but i am fed up already with this weather! have just got a cool bath and feel much much better.

Hope everyone else ok?

sarahlou1uk · 07/06/2006 19:05

Eeny - I used disposables with my first so I thought I'd better practise with cloth! Have found they are more or less the same!

sarahlou1uk · 07/06/2006 19:05

Yellow - no problem. If you want some just email me your postal address after you have seen mw. Grin

eenywifemum · 07/06/2006 22:15

Pucca - sorry you are suffering with the heat! Glad your cool bath helped! Keep lots of fans pointed at you as well. I was suffering quite badly on Saturday but I still love the hotter weather. I'm from a hotter climate, although everywhere is air conditioned in St. Louis so it's easy to escape from the heat when you need to. When my sister was pregnant about 15 years ago she didnt have air conditioning and it was 100+ and she used to fill the bathtub up with ice and cold water!!

Salamander and I went to the GP today to request a blood test for him, to find out his Rhesus status. The GP was annoyed about it and not very friendly but he agreed to test him so Sal is getting his blood test tomorrow morning!

PinkTulips · 07/06/2006 22:19

pucca, snap! my dd was a jan baby too Smile how old is your little girl? mines one.

olivo · 08/06/2006 08:10

Morning everyone! Just wanted to ask - if you are doing a kick chart, do you look out for 10 kicks in 10 hours? my baby was very quiet yesterday and I am quite worried Sad so am going to make a note today and then phone if he/she still isnt playing.

pucca · 08/06/2006 08:17

Olivio...It is 10 individual kicks per day, so i guess every 12 hours, sorry you feeling worried, my baby has done this to me a few times and it drives you mad! Try either having a very cold drink, or getting in the bath, these always seem to work for me...or if you are really worried give your MW a ring i am sure she will let you pop down to have a listen.Let us know, but i bet you if you go to MW as soon as you sit in the waiting room the baby will start jumping around Wink they always do! drive us mad with worry from even in the womb!!

PT..My dd was 2 in Jan, which was fab as could wrap up in bigfluffy jumpers lol Smile

Eeny...Thanks for the advice, god help me when we get to Aug lol.Smile

sarahlou1uk · 08/06/2006 08:48

Olivo - babies can sleep for upto 4 hours at a time in your tummy so don't get too upset if you don't feel anything for a couple of hours! Grin

Arabica · 08/06/2006 09:50

Olivo, I do empathise as my baby goes really quiet depending on the position s/he is in and how anxious I am. On Saturday I couldn't get any kicks at all no matter what I did, then in the evening had a few feeble little flutters. That was after a couple of glasses of sparkling wine! On Monday when I went for my scan I could see the baby flipping its legs over its face and flinging its arms around, yet I could feel absolutely nothing! Re kick chart my midwife told me that they often tend to make women more anxious, so not to bother--just to contact them if I felt there had been a change. Here's a \link{http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/fetaldevelopment/31weeks\an article} I found reassuring last week.
