NJ – I understood that, but at the same time if the sonographer doesn’t tell you what it is you might think you know but it could just be that she can’t tell! Then you could be disappointed, also they might just say no to your request. But yes understand completely. I also only knows girls, I have 3, bro has 2 so would be weird to have a boy I don’t think I’d know how to clean his nappy area etc!
Saralou – my hosp where I had my 20 wk scan with the first 3 babies wouldn’t tell you the sex at first, but by the time I had the third they’d changed policy and told me, now I have to have a separate scan and pay to find out! Ridiculous. I don’t mind giving a donation at every scan as I have done in the past but come on!
On the friends kids businsss I was like that when I was expecting DD3, DH’s nephew was a little git to put it nicely and I was worrying about how I’d cope again because it had been so long since I’d had a little baby (well DD2 was 4 so not exactly long!). But it all fell into place when she was born. I am worrying now though because this will be the smallest age gap (19months). Please someone tell me I can cope! Thanks for the tip FB.
DHW – posted for you on pg after MC. So sorry.

NatalieJane · 23/05/2006 09:17

I had seen DHW's thread, it is unbelievable, I could never imagine how she and her family are feeling right now.

I also hope she is getting some strength or comfort from all of our good wishes and sympathies.

NatalieJane · 23/05/2006 09:23

LOL Mygirl cleaning a boys nappy area is easy!! You just have to watch when you take their nappy off, it is normally the time they go for a wee, and since they have a bit of a water cannon it can get everywhere. My DS always used to pee when I took him to the health visitor to get him weighed, as soon as he was in the scales he went, and because of the angle you could garentee it would shoot all over me... how many times I had to go and buy new clothes to wear home, oh well, any excuse to buy new clothes I suppose!! :o

mygirllolipop · 23/05/2006 09:30

DD3 was no better, for some reason all my girls wee's have gone upwards when there's no nappy on! and yes every time she got weighted until recently!

NatalieJane · 23/05/2006 11:42

Oh, we do have some lovely conversations on here!! Wink

HopingCat · 23/05/2006 12:44

Hi everyone.
I now know where to come to ask questions about nappy changing!

I've got a midwife appointment today and I'm hoping to heat heartbeat. I'm over 16 weeks so think it should be ok to find. Hope they can find it because I had horrible nightmare last night about miscarrying and stillbirth. Has anyone else had dreams like this, in this or previous pregnancies? It really scared me.

saralou100 · 23/05/2006 12:51

morning all... had my scan this morning.... all is well!! and they've moved my dates forward by a week!! this has concerned me in that i had my original date given to me at prevoius scan which made me 7 wks, so i am now convinced it's growing at an alarmingly fast rate and it'll be big baby - dp was over 12lbs when born, althouh ds was only 7lbs 8oz - they do say 2nd baby's are bigger!! still it was lovely to see it moving around and waving away, it even stuck it's thumb up at one point!! got some lovely pictures to show off aswell!!

i found out about a private sexing scan, £250! not gonna happen, shall just have to wait until november i guess to know!!

lol at the peeing conversation, i didn't realise girls could spray upwards too... that quite a talent mygirl, you should be proud of them for their abilities :o

saralou100 · 23/05/2006 12:57

hoping cat, i had a really vivid dream about miscarrying just the other night, i woke up crying!!! just remember dreams are your subconcious playing tricks, it's something your worrying about in the back of your mind!!

when pregnant with ds i had this horrible nightmare about finding my dp drowned in the bath... i banned him from having baths for the rest of my pg!!! unsympathetic arse though, when i told him about the dream he replied with, that must have been a big bath - i'd like to try that bath!! (he's 6ft 5inch) x

NatalieJane · 23/05/2006 13:13

Have had wierd dreams, but not really about miscarage but about when the baby is here, and in fact over the weekend I had a dream that upset me, I was on a bus and had the baby in a plastic bag, not doing anything bad, but using the bag as a sort of sling, which I left on the seat and got off the bus, when the bus pulled away I went running and screaming after it that the baby was on the bus, but the bus kept going, next thing I woke up crying, but once I had calmed down I realised that I used to have a dream when I was little that my mum had accidently left me on a bus and I would run to front of the bus trying to get the driver to stop and he wouldn't and I could see my mum walking off not realising I was trapped on the bus, which at the time used to scare the life out of me! It is very strange what your subconcious does to you!

Just to add, I would never put a baby in a plastic bag for anything!! I was just pointing out that in my dream I wasn't trying to suffocate the baby or whatever, and in my dream it seemed quite fine to have a baby on a plastic bag!!

saralou100 · 23/05/2006 13:37

just remembered another dream i had, took baby into work to show off but when i got their they were really busy so i offered to help out for a bit..... i didn't want new bubs getting in the way so i tokk it out to the car and left it sleeping in the car, went back and finished the shift, when i went back to the car the baby was gone.... found it in a police station, but when i asked for the baby back they wouldn't give it to me cause i was obviously a bad mother!!! as if i would!!

fatbetty · 23/05/2006 15:42

I had a dream with first pregnancy that when once I gave birth the baby started talking back to me....like some sort of teenager!! I just wanted them to put it back!! lol

MeAndMyBoy · 23/05/2006 15:48

I know we are a LOOOOONG way of this but if I don't put it up now I will forget.

Esmummy · 23/05/2006 15:55

I had a dream on Saturday that we had another girl this time but somehow i managed not to be there and I went and collected DP and new DD from hosiptal the next day and we had a whole wierd convo about how the labour was etc etc
Very Odd!

saralou100 · 23/05/2006 17:51

liked the mat leave calender thingy!! it was nice to see how much time off work i'll get!!! off for christmas is the best feeling in the world as i would have had to work it this year!! when do people plan on starting their leave? i'm gonna start mine the week before due date in order to get the maximum amount of time off after, all going well!! i am lucky in that i do get a lot of annual leave entitlement so will be taking 4 or 5 weeks holiday before that so i have time to prepeare!! then i can also add 4 or 5weeks onto the end.. with ds i had nearly 9 months off work!!! best reason to have a baby!!!

mygirllolipop · 23/05/2006 18:26

I too get unusual/disturbing dreams when pg. With DD2 I dreamt the baby came out of DD1 like a Russian doll thing, and the idea came back to me when I was having DD3, funny cos DD3 is like DD2 and DD2 is like DD1. DD1 is a lot like me!

As for mat leave I get no break from being a SAHM but wouldn't want it any other way (for a while!).

Mummy2Toby · 24/05/2006 00:25

Hi everyone - I had a weird dream when I was expecting ds, I dreamt that I had twins and went out but left the twins on the radiator in doors???
Very strange but I think pregnancy does funny things to your mindSmile I can't really say it was my subconcious, because leaving the baby on the radiator was not something I was worried about Grin

MeAndMyBoy · 24/05/2006 08:52

Morning.

I have weird dreams too, all very vivid and I remember them when I wake up which is unusual for me.

I'm having a debate with DH about when I am going to start my maternity leave. DS starts school 5 mornings a week in September so I need to be off work by then. I left 2 weeks before DS was born last time and then he was early and I had assumed he would be late and than I'd have time on my own at home so I'd like a bit more time to myself this time.

But seeing as I am trying to get a home business of the ground can't see me getting much time to myself lol.

staceym11 · 24/05/2006 09:12

hi everyone, i am back and now officially own my own home! its quite odd as id lived in the same house my whole life but we'r getting used to it, theres so much more room for all our stuff!!!! dd thinks the flat is great but misses her nanny and grandad!

pg going well, think im just over 14 weeks or something cant even remember anymore i seem to be going crazy. getting more uncomfortable now, cant have dd sitting across me if im laying down coz the baby hates it and starts somersaulting!!! hope everyone else is ok, sorry but there is way to much to try and catch up on!

gotta go got some washing to do, never had to say that before, quite odd really!!!!!
