Thanks everyone for your messages - I think you are probably right about the doctor not having as much practice as the midwife Smile I am sure that I can feel bubs, so have decided to wait until my next hospital appt on Thursday and then ask them to check for the HB.

MeAndMyBoy · 16/05/2006 22:50

Tinasan, I'm the same height as you and have put on a stone and am now 9 which is quite a shock. This is my second and I did pretty much the same with DS as well. I'm currently 15 weeks but look much further on. A colleague at work made me laugh when I told them I was pg last week, he told me that it didnt show and he was serious - so I turned sideways - his face was a picture!!!!

Right off to bed, night all.

PS NatalieJane I am very impressed with your engery levels today, may I borrow some please? :)

YummyMummy87 · 16/05/2006 22:58

aw I have my first scan this month... I have been given the DD 2nd dec but it will be born 2 weeks earlier by section. They arent going to give me a section date until 37 weeks so you can make a due date up for mr lol! I have a baby girl Bethany born october last year
Lets give the pics another go...

Morning all how is everyone today? I have a very grouchy DH currently. He has handed his notice in and his bosses are being very difficult about it.

megglevache · 17/05/2006 08:57

Hi everyone.
I hope you don't mind me crashing Smile

I look forward to reading this thread and finding out how everyone is doing.

All the best
Megg

fatbetty · 17/05/2006 09:19

NatalieJane · 17/05/2006 10:06

Morning :o

Well it seems I have bags full energy, at last!! Have already done more house work this morning than I was managing to do in a whole week before!!

DH is going to love being able to relax at night instead of doing all of my jobs!!!

Those pictures are gorgeous!! I really want a pink one this time!!

NatalieJane · 17/05/2006 10:13

Meant to say thanks for the new thread Spinach :) How are you feeling now?

MeAndMyBoy · 17/05/2006 10:13

Hi Megg how's things with you?

I've finally realised where all our energy has gone NJ has nicked it!!!! lol don't do too much otherwise your DH will get out of the habit of helping.

Have a good day all.

H x

NatalieJane · 17/05/2006 10:15

No he is very good, he does all the cooking and sorts out what goes in the dryer, and the rubbish/recycling, and helps me out at the weekend with general tidying, he is a good'un!! :o :o :o

Did wonder if I should keep my energy to myself for a while longer but, it is pretty obvious I am feeling better, even managing to keep my eyes open for more than 2 minutes at a time! :)

Sorry don't mean to rub it in Wink :)

MeAndMyBoy · 17/05/2006 11:42

Hi Debbsy, Yes i am feeling better today, but still forcing myself to drink as much as poss.

I'm going to the Baby show - I keep forgetting lol and making other plans for the day.

MeAndMyBoy · 17/05/2006 12:25

I've got to show you this. I've just found this web site for baby stuff and they have some really cool things on there - I love this travel cot.

\link{http://www.babytrader.co.uk/baby trader}
search for Deryan Travel Cot Baby

I quite like the musty spider push chair too and have had my eye on the Stokke Xplory since I saw it at last years baby show. But think it's just far too expensive. DS pushchair cost 80 quid and I gasped at that!

Tell me what you think.

MeAndMyBoy · 17/05/2006 12:29

Damn link didn't work try again!!

\link{http://www.babytrader.co.uk/\baby trader}

HopingCat · 17/05/2006 13:15

Love the travel cots. I've never owned a travel cot so have no idea what is practical, but these look great - like mini tents!

How are first time mothers meant to know what is good to buy? There seems to be so much you could spend your money on, so I know I should probably buy very little until I have a need for it, but then once I need it how do I pick what is best brand/price/type?! At this rate my baby will be sleeping in the Moses basket my friend got me forever!

NatalieJane · 17/05/2006 13:23

HC I would just realise that as a first time mum, you will buy things that you don't really need, and then you won't buy things that you struggle without.

It isn't really easy for me to sit here and say you will need this, or you won't need that, because it all depends on your lifestyle and what else is going on.

I know this time I won't be buying one of those baby manicure sets, but I will buy a door bouncer earlier, also last time we didn't get a moses basket, and now looking back we could have really done with it, but others manage with out - we did!

I think you just need to use a bit of common sense, and so what if you buy something that isn't essential? That is what baby shopping is all about :o

Jen1209 · 17/05/2006 14:42

Hi All - pleased there is a new thread, makes life much easier!

I don't think I am going to have a lot of choice in what I do and don't have in the line of baby equipment. We are being given nearly everything I can think of and DP's dad has already bought the pram / playpen / moses basket & bouncy chair!!! He found the pram I wanted (the Loola) on the boot fair at the weekend, 1 year old, with all the accessories etc for about £50 (he won't tell us exactly how much) where it is in the shops for £400 :o I am worried about the car seat, incase it has been in an accident, but we already have a Mamas and Papas one from my mum's best friend. She is giving us a load of stuff as well and my best friend is saving 1 of everything from her DT's who are only 2 months old! So we have been really lucky. At the moment, I am thinking about cots / bedding etc.

NJ - Glad your energy levels have returned, please can I have some!

Hi Debbsey - glad you are starting to feel a bit better hun - about time you poor thing!

Need to update the stats with my new date of 18/11

Hope everyone else is ok,

Esmummy · 17/05/2006 14:47

Afternoon All,
Had my scan this morning. There is one very happy and active baby in there, was moving around so much the sonographer really struggled with taking the measurements. Dates are perfect so still on for 21st November. Sonographer said it was a beautiful baby to scan as features were very clear Grin [gloat].
Measuring 6.2cm crown to rump. Am so so so happy :)

Tinasan · 17/05/2006 16:26

Congrats Esmummy!!!!!
It's the best feeling ever isn't it? I've got my next scan which is a 4D one on the 16th June and I absolutely can't wait!

Tinasan

Oh and thanks to everybody who reassured me about my fat tummy - I'm just going to have to get used to being a well-endowed pregnant lady I think :0

NatalieJane · 17/05/2006 16:41

Glad it went so well Esmummy :)

Can't believe I still have 2 weeks till my scan, feeling left behind!! LOL
