Morning all

So had acupuncture yesterday - made me feel v tired and had quite a few cramps and aches but then nothing :( My practitioner did say it can take between 2 and 36 hours to take effect and works best at one week overdue so we'll see what happens. I have a consultant appointment this afternoon so I guess I'll find out what the options are. My hospital doesn't like to let ladies go more than 10 days overdue so I'm looking at induction on Sunday/Monday. Hoping and praying baby comes before then.

Allchik, hope you are ok - your birth story sounds very traumatic but hopefully it will soon become a distant memory as you enjoy your time with Eleni

Allchik, sounds like it was a difficult birth, be kind to yourself and rest when you can for the next few weeks. I can't imagine how you felt when epidural suddenly failed

Love the title, although baby doesn't seemed to have received the eviction notice I served!!
Just had my 2nd sweep at midwife, jeeezzzz it was a little more than uncomfortable this time!!

My mum and sister are coming to stay on Saturday so I'm hoping this baby will be out before then! I'm going for a walk today so maybe that will persuade her.

Those of you with children already, are you still doing the school run? I just can't face the mornings so have been gettin DH to do it and sleeping in a bit!

Gosh Allchik you have been through the wars, and sounds like you are very understandably a bit traumatised. I'm really scared of ending up in a similar situation (induction booked for tomorrow) but it is strangely comforting to read the experiences of others and see that you are alive and (relatively) well at the end of it. Hopefully the memories of it all will fade in time, especially now you have got little Eleni to keep you busy

Tugs good luck with the consultant appt. I had one yesterday (only because I didn't go through with the induction at 3 days overdue). Induction now booked for tomorrow. Had sweep yesterday and have had various pains come and go (including a most spectacular one a few minutes ago where I couldn't breathe but was probably indigestion). The pressure to give birth is horrid isn't it!

I'm still waiting! 40+11 now and having second sweep today and booked for induction tomorrow. Disappointing as was planning a water birth at home DS was born at 40+6 so I wasn't expecting this one to go further! Have tried clary sage, lots of walking, bouncing on the gym ball.... To no avail.... Frustrating! And I'm sleeping so badly. Not long to wait now at least

Sorry Cejay - in same boat as you in that I was planning HB with pool too, and now have induction booked for tomorrow (am 40+5). I would certainly be expecting to have a second baby soon - how frustrating for you

cejay8 i can really empathise with your disappointment regarding having to change birth plans. i was very excited about my planned water birth at the birthing centre but now looks likely i will be needing to go to the labour suite due to high blood pressure. i realise a safe birth is the only priority but is has taken a couple of days to adjust my mind.

also i have bought some soft toys new, and a mamas and papas conforter - do you think i should was these? (sorry if stupid question - sometimes i really know nothing!!)

Second sweep done but didn't go that well, apparently cervix is fully effaced but high and baby is back to back so she couldn't do such a good sweep

I am disappointed to not get my home birth and the pool is here haunting me! I'm hoping that I'll only need one intervention so that I can use the birthing centre rather than labour ward - but who knows...

Feeling a bit anxious re induction tomorrow now.

I personally wouldn't bother washing soft toys but I would probably wash the comforter - DS has 3 the same and one is always in the wash!

40+5, and NOTHING. I feel like I'm going to be pregnant for ever. Sigh...

djvesi I feel exactly the same, this pregnancy is going on forever.

Just back from consultant - doc attempted a sweep, wasn't painful but she was quite 'rough' and I now feel like I've been punched in the fanjo. She said cervix is quite far back so she couldn't do a proper sweep but said it feels v soft which I guess is a good sign. Seeing midwife tomorrow and will get her to have a go as well.

Now 41+3, sweep cancelled last Friday due to us being snowed in, unable to have sweep on Monday as cervix unfavourable, was just about able to have a sweep this morning, but nothing doing. Booked in for induction on Friday...

Hello ladies, our beautiful little princess Darcie Rose was born at 8.10pm weighing 7lb 7oz xxx

Hello everyone, we had our baby girl at 8.30pm after a lovely (but v painful!) waterbirth at MLU. Fully dilated on arrival! Unfortunately had heavy bleeding afterwards and second degree tear and had to be transferred to delivery suite for syntocinon drip and just avoided being taken into theatre

I also feel like this baby is never coming... Late pregnancy is not good for planning freaks is it?!

Hi all - accidentally posted on the old thread! Baby boy Callum born Tuesday at 3.35pm, weighing 7lb 15oz. Ended up having to go to the big city hospital as his hearbeat was dropping, but all OK in the end. Home now and trying to get to grips with feeding...
