Hooray for cupcakes. Sorry about the transfer, that must have been scary. But glad you are both ok

sorry about that eagle. I don't have anything to say to make it better but DH did say to me this morning that every day is a day closer to meeting our baby and that helped me a bit.

Congratulations to fellow due daters lolli, silver and cupcakes. Fantastic news that your babies have arrived safely.

Totally agree with glorious and bunny. I'm struggling to keep my control freak tendencies at bay.... I'm now getting contractions most nights which are enough to keep me awake but are not getting regular or closer together and they head off for most of the day. I had a sweep on Tues and got a bishop score of 4 which means my cervix is still 'unfavourable'....grrr come on cervix!

I'm just back from CTG monitoring at the hospital - all is inching forward (baby now at 1/5th palpable). There's another sweep planned for Mon and further monitoring in the week but if no action they want to induce on Fri when I'm almost 42weeks. Poor DH is on a nightly 'performance' schedule - anything to encourage things forward naturally.....

Nothing to report here really. Midwife says baby's head is as engaged as can be and I've been having pretty uncomfortable period-esque pains but nothing to show for them. Persuaded DH to have sex yesterday in a bid to get things going but man it hurt afterwards! Will not be trying that again in a hurry!

woody, it sounds like we are at a similar stage. The contractions that I'm experiencing are like period-esque pains and the hospital told me this morning that they should develop into proper labour in time.

Hi girls. Midwife wouldnt do sweep as blood pressure has shot up and I am swollen, so now sat at hosp waiting for them to do blood tests etc to rule out or confirm pre eclampsia. Eck. She said they may induce while im here if theyre worried. Bump is jumping about loads, am hoping that he'll sense were at the hospital and get himselfstarted!

hi bunny i was in exact same position last week. after much talk of induction was sent home with medication and to wait for things to happen naturally. best of luck x

41 weeks today and nothing happening here either.
I'm booked in for a sweep on Tuesday when I'll be 12 days over but hopefully by then i will already have baby in my arms.

bunny hope you're ok, keep us posted.

I too am at the hospital after community midwife sent me here because baby's heart rate is low so being monitored...

Home after a few hours on the CTG. Baby's heart rate was gradually going lower and lower and after much panicking and faffing about whether they were picking up my pulse or the baby's they did a quick scan and then put me on a saline drip and then baby's heart rate picked up and was fine again. Senior obstetric consultant was happy with the last trace and told me all was ok and sent me home. I was a bit because of how panicked the first lot of doctors were and consequently how panicked I became, and couldn't believe they'd send me home - thought they would induce me there and then. But after much reassuring the consultant convinced me all was ok... Baby is moving lots so guess I have to just believe it. I'm seeing midwife again tomorrow who will attempt another sweep and book me for induction on Monday if nothing happens.

For god's sake baby just COME OUT ALREADY! This stress is doing my nut.

Sophie Juliette was born today at 2.43pm weighing 9lbs! I had my waters broken at 10.30am and managed to have her in super quick time in the birthing centre - so induction was actually all fine and we're all very happy.

Am back home after having a sweep, all ok with bloods test etc which is great, was hoping maybe they wud induce, as I am term, we were there with all our stuff etc, but back home to be patient. Totally know how you feel tugs - glad youre back home ok tho.
Second sweep planned for monday, no induction date yet tho...

I'm not even overdue yet and I feel like I'm going mad so god knows how all you are coping. Friend due day after me just had her waters break a few minutes ago. eats pineapple

Had docs appointment yesterday, am 41wks today , they say I'm fine, 2cm, soft cervix, just need a kick off, they will try catheter induction next Friday!!! A whole week more !!! Can't believe it. I came home after, walked up stairs 20x, bounced on ball for an hour while playing with nipples and then jumped DH when he walked in the door and still nothing. I give up!

Bit more of a lurker than a poster, but have been reading. Baby Liam arrived early 17/01/13 after induced forceps labour and 2 epidurals (first failed). Sorry for not updating sooner, was pretty traumatic! Hope everyone else has had a better experience. Congrats to all new mums and good luck to all those still waiting. All the pain was worth it. :)

Hi all. Getting fed up a bit, expecting midwife to have contacted me about an induction date, but nothing. Boo! :-( nothing seems to have happened since the sweep, guess its going to be a long weekend :-(

Hope those who are overdue are having some progress!

It's my birthday today :) Really wanted a special present in the form of my baby but it's not going to happen. Saw my lovely midwife who attempted another sweep but couldn't get anywhere near my cervix, said it's not likely to happen without help. She was pretty pissed off on my behalf that they let me go home last night and has booked me in for Sunday, couldn't get me in any sooner. I am feeling really quite stressed and teary after hardly sleeping a wink last night and don't know how I'll make it to Sunday. I'm half tempted to go to the labour ward tonight and set up camp.

I've decided on a name - Ada Ngaio.

I love the various strong women throughout history associated with the name Ada and the second name, Ngaio, is a Maori name (pronounced Ny-Oh), chosen by my partner who is from New Zealand.

Will post up my birth story when I get a thoughtful moment to write it up!
