Think I have put on a stone since the start. Don't really want to look anymore! I suspect the jar or white chocolate spread that lives in my desk drawer with a spoon may have something to do with it!

I have teenagers saying silly things all the time (I'm an upper school teacher), but mostly they are really sweet and keep complimenting me on my new maternity dresses from asos. If you haven't looked already, they are great!

Omg, forgot to add... scarier than stepping on the scales was measuring my arse and bump with a tape measure in the staff room the other day, (yep, we are very mature) and discovering that they are THE SAME SIZE!!!! My bump is pretty big, so that was ridiculous!

Hello Ladies! RE weight gain! AAAHhhhhh I am due to be a bridesmaid for my (will be) Sister in Law in August. She is unbelievably organised and bought the bridesmaid dress about 6 months ago. I have no idea what will happen if i dont fit in the dress. i will probably be demoted!
It's bad that i am already thinking about how i will loose weight, and i know its really that i should be eating healthily now - but I LOVE CHOCOLATE, and CAKE! i never used to have a sweet tooth, but now i have one massive one! mawg i would hate to measure myself! not sure there are tape measure long enough!
I have started to just wear my wedding ring, as my engagement is slightly tight, i dont want to end up with sausage fingers! and hate the thought of my feet swelling!

Maisie I'm a bridesmaid around the same time as you. The dress is very tight, very short, very unforgiving. Bloody dreading it! Slimming world as soon as I'm allowed, not really additional pressure we'll need with new borns!

Aw redwelly- sound like you're having the day from hell poor you. I have no idea how to do those flower pictures but am attempting to send you flowers and a biscuit here... ????

I also feel for those of you with bridesmaid dresses to get into so soon after birth. Although on the positive side maybe the motivation will be a good thing as I just put it off and off after DS was born and then eventually joined weight watchers having lots more to lose!

Ah it appears the flowers and biscuits did not work! At least the thought was there though get- if not the technical ability! Smile

Thank you AmI it has been a very rubbish day. Heading to bed at half nine to start afresh tomorrow.

Night redwelly and sorry for the crappy day. People do think they can say anything when you're pregnant. I remember leaving a shop crying last pregnancy as I heard the cashiers laughing when they asked if I was nearly due and I still had six weeks to go. The ludicrous thing was I was supposedly under the recommended weight gain. Try and ignore the ignorant people.

Good luck bridesmaids to be. Hopefully you'll be bf-ing very hungry babies, then the pounds will fall off!

I saw my consultant today who is absolutely amazing - unfortunately I am leaving her now to emigrate and it is one of the saddest things about leaving is that she won't deliver my baby. She reassured me about the kidney issue on my scan and flying and having another ELCS. I also saw baby again as she scans at most appointments so that was an unexpected bonus!

Re- 30 wk private scan - I would probably book one! I have had regular scans throughout my 2 previous pregnancies - and looks like it will be the same with this one - due to various complications so I suppose have taken it for granted that I see baby between 20 and 40 weeks but I can see it would be a LONG time to wait if not!

I'm a bridesmaid for my best friend a couple of years after baby arrives (long engagement) and she has already asked of I will have lost my baby weight by march 2014 cus she'll want to start dress shopping and I though THAT was a lot of pressure!!

OK back on the chocolate thread. Husband has just phoned me to inform me that my dog has eaten half a box of chocolates. Whilst I am a little concerned for my pooch (chocolate is poisonous to dogs) I'm also mightily pissed off that she ate my posh Christmas chocolates. I was so proud that I'd made it to February without opening these chocolates and now the little beep has eaten them.

Never come between a pregnant woman and her chocolate!!

Sunny they always eat the posh ones don't they!!
I'm struggling with work this week, I'm very tired. I've not weighed myself for a while, I lost loads if weight with the sickness but once I got back to my pre pregnancy weight I've stopped looking. I thought mw would check it at every appt but so far only first appt.

Well I am also shattered this week- no let up! Thank goodness for a week off next week!

Your poor dog and poor you- I can't cope without my daily dose of chocolate at the moment!

Poor dog, has he had to go to the vet?

AmI Enjoy your week off, are you doing anything nice?

I got my clothes delivery today, the Jojomamanbebe jeans are flipping fantastic, beautiful fit and so comfy. Also got jojo leggings but the bump bands were horrendously tight and made bump so sore they're going back. The vertbaudet jeans are also going back as they are frumpy even though I got a size below what I thought id need.

I never had maternity trousers last time, but wish I had, make me look pg not fat! Might get a second pair.

I'm shattered this week too. I keep hearing how the second trimester is when you get a surge of energy, but I think mine has been delivered to the wrong person, it certainly hasn't arrived here! I've done 3 days temp work this which just feels like too much Confused!

I had my booking in appointment last night. Everything seems to be fine, so that's good. There was a tour of the labour ward just as we finished, so the MW asked if we'd like to do it, whilst she did the notes. We did, despite being the least pregnant on the tour by about 10 weeks Grin. It was really nice - if you have a straightforward pregnancy and deliver at term, there is a really gorgeous MW led birthing unit with a pool in every room and showers and birthing balls and stuff, but the normal labour ward is the other end of the same corridor so on hand for emergencies. The staff were all lovely, and it was nice to see everything. It doesn't have the view that you get in St.Thomas's labour ward mind you! (Houses of Parliament, River Thames and Wesminster Bridge!), but it was nice and peaceful, which was good.

Cycle that sounds lovely. Our local hospital only has 1 birthing pool so I'm not going to get too excited. I definitely need to think of a back up plan if its in use. Better start looking at types of pain relief! My heart is really set on a water birth though all going well. Think I'm going to call it a night I'm exhausted too. Night all Smile

Our unit lets you take your own (birth pool in a box) as long as the pump has been safety tested. Don't forget the liner!

Tens machine is worth hiring littlemiss, even if you wear it right up until you get in the pool. Hoping for another home water birth here but will also be getting an Tens.
Shattered here too Hmm

Evening everyone glad it's not just me feeling tired - decided to indulge in a while on the sofa with my yoga relaxation cd this afternoon then woke up a.couple of hours later! Also, is anyone else suffering from baby brain? Tried to boil broccoli without any water tonight! just hoping I'm not doing anything stupid at work without noticing...Shock

Littlemissexpecting · 09/02/2013 08:23

Morning all. Yep baby brain here too I but not sure if its just down to tiredness?
I had thought of a tens machine? Did anyone buy one or just hire it? Did you use it for braxton hicks as well as actually contractions to get used to it?
Anyone got an exciting day planned? I plan to box up all the clothes that no longer fit me such as work suits and dresses that are taking up room in my wardrobe!!

Morning!

Thanks redwelly! Best thing about my week off is that I finally have my scan on mon! Then just little day trips I think with hopefully some time to relax but we'll see!

Our plan for today is to turn ds's cot bed into a bed and to get a rail for it and possibly a pillow as he hasn't used one yet. Plan is to have him sleep in there for a month or so then buy him a proper single.

Also have little birthday parties today and tomrw which is usually very nice but today I'm a little disappointed with the times as I'm a big rugby fan! No matter- they'll be great and it'll be fab to see DS having a good run around!

As for tens I didn't get round to one last time even tho I fully intended to. Those who have used them, which do you recommend and hiring or buying from where?

Happy Saturday everyone! Smile

I'm going to a Sikh wedding at kew gardens in London. I'm quite excited, even if I have nothing to wear that will fit me properly!

Packed away all my too small clothes a couple of weeks ago. Felt nice to not look in the wardrobe and be depressed about not fitting in any of my clothes anymore.

Thank god it's the weekend!

Hi everyone Smile

I'm back from my trip which went well, DD was an angel on both flights and it was lovely to have a family reunion (admittedly not under the best circumstances).

Had my scan yesterday and I will be staying in team pink! So happy that DD will have a little sister Grin

Will now attempt to catch up with this thread...
