For some reason here everyone has the diabetes test. And no mentioned snickers bars at my appointment, just that disgusting glucose drink, then sitting at the doctors for an hour....I want to go where pink apples goes, sounds much better!

peardrop2 · 04/02/2013 20:17

AmIgoingmad I've suggested M&S as they have a large selection of non-wired bras

Mutley77 · 04/02/2013 20:24

Thanks red - the growth and level of amniotic fluid were both normal (she did check and mention both) - and she said she wasn't worried about blockages as the bladder was also visible and full. I am guessing they aren't worried about placenta as another 14 weeks is a long time to leave that to chance. I have a Consultant clinic appointment this week so will see if whoever I see can shed any more light.

Thanks also SunnyL - is a good point. She did say that many things get picked up now that wouldn't have done before (and often the things that are now picked up wouldn't have caused a problem) - but you are right that anything to minimise potential future suffering for baby is a good thing.

AmIGoingMad · 04/02/2013 21:45

Sorry- my brain's like mush at the moment! I completely forgot that I'd had some great bra suggestions here last night! Thanks ladies! Smile

learnermummy · 04/02/2013 22:22

I'm having to go for GTT as DS2 was on the large side (9lb 7) but then he was 16 days late! No chocolate for me either - fast from 10pm, drive to hospital next morning on empty then drink lucozade and sit around for 3 hrs without food Hmm doesn't sound much fun! Plenty of time to get on with my cross stitch I suppose !!

AlohaMama · 05/02/2013 04:17

Redwelly and AmI keep us updated on progress with your ds/dd. So far my ds knows there is a girl baby in mummy's belly (although if you ask him he says boy baby) and that's about it. My mum bought him a doll for when the baby is born so he can look after that and put nappies on when I do dd. We'll see how that goes. Figured I'd get a book but I think now it would be so far away for him to be meaningless.

Sams4lo · 05/02/2013 07:52

Hi just checking in :) got an emergency gtt tomorrow as blood sugars r through the roof, been told I have to have someone with me all the time in case of a hypo :( oh the joys! And to top it off my bp is still too high so had bp meds doubled! But got an extra scan tomorrow for a Doppler so get to see him again :)

forgetmenots · 05/02/2013 08:11

Good luck for today MrsBri and any others! :)

peardrop2 · 05/02/2013 08:24

Yes, enjoy your scans today ladies Grin look forward to hearing how it goes MrsBri

I feel like I've hit a bit of a milestone. 25w today Smile Does anyone know what week is the start of third tri? All my sources tell me different things.

suzyrut · 05/02/2013 09:08

Morning ladies.

On the changing bags I really liked the Cath Kidston ones (I actually have a cowboy print wash bag myself I am such a child) but decision was taken out of my hands because we got one with the pram/buggy we bought.

Pear I thought 3rd trimester started at 28 weeks but I might be wrong

Good luck mrsBri really glad the big scan day has finally arrived for you, waiting is agony! Are you definitely staying team yellow??

Also good luck Sam hope everything goes well with your tests.

xxx

peardrop2 · 05/02/2013 09:13

Suzy oh I hope you're right! Then I only have 3 weeks left!

peardrop2 · 05/02/2013 09:14

Forgot to say I also like the Cath k bags, especially the spotty ones Grin

forgetmenots · 05/02/2013 09:45

I love spotty cath K too - I swore I wasn't a fan of hers (not the floral type, me)... Until a friend introduced me to her other prints! Now I'm an unashamed fan!

MrsBri · 05/02/2013 10:45

Hello :-)

Scan was great. Baby is perfect. And yes, we are still team yellow. Oddly was even less inclined to find out when I was being scanned than before!

Such a cute little baby. He was covering his face with his hands for a while and waving at us a bit. Rather excited now.

Got my MATB1 too. Moved officially forward to 20th June. :-) Biologically impossible, but I'll take it!

learnermummy · 05/02/2013 11:11

Glad to hear the scan went well mrsbri. Hope your tests all ok sams4lo.
As for younger siblings, my youngest is 3.5 and he totally gets it and is very excited, talking to baby, picking out things in shops for her etc. He's always called it a 'she' too, even before we knew. When pregnant last time my other son was 2.5 and didn't get it at all, so there's clearly a big difference in understanding in that year. Will look out what books we got before, there was definitely one I had which involved breastfeeding which was good - most seemed to be bottle feeding at the time.

Luckily my 6 year old hasn't yet asked how baby got there or how it's coming out.....Blush

suzyrut · 05/02/2013 11:50

Great news mrsbri waving at you so cute!

learner my daughter (9) has been asking constant questions about EXACTLY how babies are made and where they come out. I didn't realise till the other day when I looked in her homework planning book that she'd been taking notes (fortunately this is not a book that goes into school that often), in big letters it says "baby's come from SEX, Mum and (DP) had SEX!!!!" my 13 year old son fell off his chair laughing. In my family it was never mentioned so I was determined to be a bit more open but it really is proving to be quite a trial. I wish I'd just said the stork brought them and nipped it in the bud, once the questions start there seems to be no end to them so good luck!!

learnermummy · 05/02/2013 12:25

Blimey suzyrut think I will stick to the stork Grin!

MrsBri · 05/02/2013 12:44

My scan picture is in my profile now if you want to guess the sex!

forgetmenots · 05/02/2013 13:07

Awwww mrsbri so pleased all went well! Your wee one sounds like it is still in our acrobatic troupe :)
I'm the same, a definite team yellow but like playing the guessing games!

AlohaMama · 05/02/2013 15:17

Congrats mrsbri on the scan
Good luck with those questions suzyrut!

MrsBri · 05/02/2013 18:24

That is a very funny story, Suzy :-) I can imagine it is a difficult conversation to have. But that is brilliant!

Forget...Baby B started on his head, then turned back round and put his hands on his face so the scanning lady couldn't check him for a bit. Such a funny baby! :-)

Is it just AmI to go now? Bet you're really impatient now!

pinkapples · 05/02/2013 18:31

Been the zoo and am absolutely knackered! Home to a bath and a nice sausage casserole the jar does say red wine 2% but I figured in food it can't mean much Grin yummy anyway x

Withalittlesparkle · 05/02/2013 20:17

pink what a fun day!

I've finally decided to go off at 36 weeks!! So 15 weeks and counting Grin just need to confirm with HR!!
I've had a awful day at work and I've decided I don't want the stress when I'm due!!

MrsBri · 05/02/2013 20:26

Sparkle, I love counting down...13 1/2 weeks for me due to annual leave being taken prior, which means I finish at 34 weeks. Can't wait!

It's good when you can come to a decision, isn't it? :-)

peardrop2 · 05/02/2013 20:52

Ooooo I'll be 33+3 on my last day at work due to also taking annual leave beforehand Grin

Love the sibling stories. V cute!
