So far two people have had a feel of my 'bump' one occasion was when I was about 10 weeks ! then on new years eve and they rubbed just below my ribs so I told him he was rubbing my fat ! I hope customers at work don't start doing it some of them feel like they know me too well already !

redwelly sorry you're having a hard time. Sending sympathy x

dontmind I enjoyed the car park story!

Can't bear it if people touch my bump - why does pregnancy make you public property?

Am not feeling well - headache, throwing up - and bump seems massive, so just hoping it's nothing to worry about. And still no amnio results.

DontmindifIdo · 05/01/2013 10:56

I've already started saying "I hated people touching my bump last time round" in an attempt to make it clear that I'm not the world's lucky budha.

Welcome to the new faces (?names...?), more the merrier.

I swear my bump is getting harder/firmer and it's def feeling heavier, not so comfy.

We took our first tentative steps into gear shopping this morning, taking a look at buggies. Insane range, but overwhelming. What have you all got, if anything? We want small and light as possible, shame you can't just get a stroller from the outset!

I've still not put on a pound and it seems to be a fair way along for that still to be the case, albeit I was a bit chub at the start. Should I be worried, do you reckon?

Olimoss - if you were a little overweight before, it could be you are balancing out if you are now eating healthier and losing some of the excess fat but gaining baby weight IYSWIM. Mention it to your midwife if you're concerned, but even though I've expanded, I don't think Ive gained much.

Went shopping today with the rents oh my god everything is so expensive bought a bed set as my dad wanted to buy us something £230 for bumper quilt pillow blanket mobile teddy and sheet!!! Then looked at prams think we're going to get a mamas and papas urbo not 100% yet but I'm quite short so don't want massive heavy thing and its really light and steers well (dad and hubby having races around the shop)

Feeling big but fat big not baby big I think that's just me tho as everyone says they can tell now. Still chub tho I think Grin 2 weeks to scan will mAYBE relax if alls ok so fingers crossed no feeling as such yet but there are twinges that I guess could be put down to baby as they can't really be anything else who knows I'm just guessing

Olimoss I'm the same - I have a bump but haven't gained weight. I was a little overweight before conceiving. This is even despite eating like a champion and not throwing up for the whole first trimester. Hoping it means when I get big weight gain it will balance out!

Thanks Forget and Dontmind - good to hear...!

Yes it's weird - pretty sure clothes are looser than ever across back and legs but mad-tight on gut and boobs. Now not really sick anymore (apart from bloody migraines) am back to normal swimming and gym regime with the personal trainer.

Never in my life have I been able to eat so many carbs (wonderful, wonderful carbs) without a massive chubbing up!

I have just got out of bed! I can't wait to have the energy to go shopping! I wasn't sleeping but physically did not have the energy to get up. I really need to start eating but something keeps stopping me, I'm either sick or nausea comes over me
Has anyone started decorating baby's rooms yet ( for those with dc already probably not relevant)?

I have a bump and have also gained LOADS of weight. My breasts must account for 1kg though as they are so big and heavy! I don't seem to be expanding quite so much now, but I have stopped eating as much now the hideous nausea has passed.

My bump is still way ahead of where it should be! May be massive by the end...still all front though.

I just woke from a surprise nap! One minute watching TV, the next waking up about 40 minutes later. Lovely stuff!

Wow... Back sooner than I thought! Well for the last two weeks i have been mostly sleeping, so its fab to catch up on mn and read that you are all asking and worrying about the same things as me! Still a month until
my scan so feel in pregnancy limbo atm, not a lot happening!

Bump is expanding, finally admitted defeat and bought some maternity gear!

Sat down with dp and finally worked out some kind of finance plan (we have been putting this off for a while!) and it looks like part time is a viable option for me! Woop! However, this means pretty much giving up my hard-earned management role, so many nights have been spent tossing and turning trying to decide what is the right thing to do!

And then I realised I couldn't give a crap about work or sliding back to the bottom of the ladder and so the maternity countdown begins... 18 working weeks and counting! Grin

I hope those of you who are house hunting get settled soon! The keys to our new house were handed over to us the week i found out about baby. To picture my house then walk down the road and take a left turn at 1972. Hmm
To picture my house now, imagine a pile of bricks and floorboards arranged to form some kind of wall and floor like structures (not even that in some cases) sucking money out of your bank account, holding your dp hostage at weekends and evenings and insisting you spend 3 months (and counting) living with your mother in law. Confused

Just out of interest, anyone else here in the coventry/warwickshire area? Xx

You must finish when I do, I think, or maybe the week before. I'm finishing on 17th May, I think. 3 weeks' leave, then ML starting 10th June, 2 weeks prior.

I'm considering part time return too if possible. I've had the same thought about my career. See how I feel afterwards though, and the money situation.

My scan is a month today too...what's your due date?

3 months with the in laws? Brave! When do you move in?

Hopefully I'll get good news this week and I can start planning :-)

Kind of exciting, isn't it?!

Just introducing myself....

Pleased to see many of you are still exhausted, I don't remember this from previous pregnancies, must be my age ;)
I am due on 25 June with baby number 3. We are also emigrating to Australia in about 2 months which is causing me a certain amount of panic - any advice welcome!
I am just researching prams and don't want to spend a fortune so at the moment it's between the mountain buggy swift and the babystyle oyster - any recommendations?
So, I have an appointment with midwife on Monday then scan start of Feb and Consultant appointment a week later - is that fairly typical?

I find random people rubbing the bump VERY irritating as am a bit funny about personal space. With DC1, I got so annoyed, I used to pat their tummy back, smiling indulgently, but without comment. Very funny watching the dawning realization on people's faces that I was taking the piss... ;-)

Well, here's a new one for you ladies - today I have received an anonymous parcel in the post, containing a tshirt which reads 'I'm not fat, I'm PREGNANT!'

No idea who sent it, pretty pissed off, would rather be rubbed like a lucky Buddha! Thread in Chat if you can try and help me solve the mystery.

On a separate note, been for my regular waxing today and ow!! I do seem to recall someone saying you shouldn't have a bikini wax pre going into hospital, does anyone know if this is true? Due to infection or something? I realise I'm thinking way too far in advance here!

Collector, your post reminded me of something I wanted to ask - is anyone else growing lots more hair than usual?? I seem to be, and not on my head! Hormones, I guess!

Report
Littlemissexpecting · 05/01/2013 22:40

collector I had a bikini wax in June with previous pg and remember it hurt more! Not had one in this pg yet. my hair is overdue a cut but I had to cancel my hairdresser appt in dec due to sickness.
I've just booked my nct classes, feels more real now some how

Welcome muttley! We have the same due date! I have midwife appt on tues, scan 11th feb and then consultant appt wk after that. I didn't have any consultant appts with DS though.
As for hair- not noticed any changes there yet but my chin is covered in spots! Everyday a new one arrives. This wouldn't be so bad if one of the others disappeared to make room but no, of course not! I don't really get spots in normal life but last pregnancy I was the same around this time too!

Good to know, MrsBri! I seem to have more facial hair - nice!! Does this mean its a boy?!

I haven't been sent a consultant appointment, but have scan date of 1 Feb. Should I have one?

Sunbeam and MrsBri - I will join the yeti club. Belly in particular and the line down the middle is thick hairs (like eyebrow hair!!)
I'm dark anyway and have hairy-ish arms and legs at best of times, but at the moment I can't keep on top of it! Read somewhere that I should use creams which is what I normally do, so, er... It's been a bit au naturel. Poor DH, it's not pretty, but at least I am warm in winter :)

Oooh sunbeam yes, facial hair too. Wondered about gender as thought it may be testosterone?
