Good luck totalyfloaty. Hope it all goes well for you. Im sure all will be fine. Could be worse I dreamt my middle ds went on a school trip and they rang to tell me hed died!. Last night this was............

Sunshine78 · 30/03/2006 10:11

Hi I've changed my nickname from Annlouise (don't ask)

Having a really bad day today am nearly 14 weeks but still wanting to throw up and having to deal with a boss who is being extremly grumpy! Just want to sit and cry but that doesn't look too professional so thought I'd have a little break and a catch up on here!

whiffy · 30/03/2006 10:22

OMG Gingme, hope you don't get those nightmares very often. I am getting lots of dreams but of the very bizzare erotic variety (in my dreams I am in lust with a bald guy from work .....am having to try not to blush when I talk to him in real life. And he isn't remotely fanciable. But I should have know my hormones would go haywire in this direction, given my horny flush during brokeback mountain a few weeks back...)

Mmmmchocolate - you made me laugh this morning. I can scarcely believe that my mates & colleagues don't know yet, the idea of not realising myself just beyond belief. You must be so so lucky not having the nausea/boob & other stuff so far. I so wish the same could have happened to me. Just imaging not having all those worries of the last few weeks.

All the best, twinkle. Wish it could have turned out differently for you.

Many thanks Marthahm for Seraphine reccomendation - am currently wandering round in the floaty top stuff from M&S which is working a treat but once the bump gets out I'll check it out.

The twinges in the gym are apparantly the ligaments - they stretch really quickly right from the start of pg and you are at risk of damaging them if you do anything 'too' actively though I think the warnings are generally for stuff like kick boxing and the like which apparantly are a no-no. I don't think normal excercise is a problem though one MW mentioned best not to get too out of breath as this means blood supply to baby might be compromised. But not sure if this was good advice or rubbish. Given that carrying my DS up the stairs to bed is currently making me feel faint Blush I am unlikely to find out either Grin

I haven't had talc in the house since I was about 15 but am going out tomorrow to buy some - my boobs are huge again and it never even occurred to me to put talc under them to keep them fresh. Big thumb sup for that advice.

wuzzlefraggle · 30/03/2006 10:24

welcome mmmmchocolate, is this your first?

Totally, hope that the scan goes well today :)

Jamiesam, im afraid that the hair thing had just confused me lol

sunshine, i hope that you start feeling better soon and that your day starts to go more smoothly...is there anyway you could go home and take it easy?

wuzzlefraggle · 30/03/2006 10:26

lol @ whiffy and her lusty bald dreams

SKYTVADICT · 30/03/2006 10:45

Welcome mmmchocolate & congrats and lucky you. I have known since i was 5 weeks and it seems like a life time already. We also told the DDs at 6 weeks so everyone has such a long time to wait.

Feeling really sorry for you Sunshine. I'm at work today too and haven't told the boss yet. Feeling slightly sick (just having eaten a hot cross bun) but finding it very hard to be cheerful and normal.

Can't really go into my dreams but they are of the erotic kind which is strange because completely gone off the idea of sex at the mo.

Gingeme · 30/03/2006 10:45

Whiffy I get realy bizare dreams all the time pg or not. I often wake up sobbing or laughing. Nearly gave dh a black eye once from havin a row in my dream. The worst one was when I had my 2nd ds and I dreamed I was running along a long coridoor with lots of doors and could hear him crying but if I picked the wrong door id never see him again! I have 3 different dream books and find the dreams I have totaly fascinating. Yes Ive always sworn by talc in the summer. I tell my dss to put it round their 'bits' after a bath now its getting warmer. Well if its good for babys its good enough for us grown ups eh?

Gingeme · 30/03/2006 10:52

Lol know exactly what you mean SKYTVADICT. Think the weirdest erotic dream I had was having sex with George Micheal! That may go back to my Wham days though. Anyway off to get some bits for our blinds now. Bought some black out blinds for my boys room. So ttfn ladies xx

Gemmitygem · 30/03/2006 11:00

having exactly same as you all: very dodgy dreams, some erotic involving London taxis and piles of lingerie (don't ask!) (not that you were going to), and some just weird, about dying or anxiously trying to get to some event or other...

I'm planning to tell work when I come back from hols on 3 May. I'll be 17 weeks by then so it will probably be a teeny bit obvious (trying to hide it till 15 weeks as just signed new contract)

SKYTVADICT · 30/03/2006 11:19

I've decided to tell work next Friday afternoon after the scan in the morning (if all is well). I have booked the day off but will bring DP in with me to work as it may stop me crying when I tell them. I work in such a small office it will have such a huge effect on everyone and I'm feeling a little guilty and as I'm emotional at the mo anyway!!

MumtoLaura · 30/03/2006 13:28

Hi Everyone,
I'm afraid I had a miscarriage on monday. Good luck to you all, nearly at the 12 week stage now, so hopefully I'll be the last one.

chick · 30/03/2006 14:29

Sad for you mumto laura... thinking of you!

Gingeme · 30/03/2006 14:40

So sorry Mumtolaura to hear your news. Take care :(

paow · 30/03/2006 15:16

I'm sorry to hear your news MumtoLaura, I understand how you feel.

I also want to tell work and people straight after my scan, my bump is getting really obvious now.
My best friend here at work knows and everytime I go to his office, he's like OMG the size of it! hahaha
I hope everyone else is thinking I've had too much beer.
Take care

PS: Anyone having mayo? I've been having some, but I know fresh ones contain raw egg, does the supermarket ones do as well or is it all pasteurised?

totallyfloaty35 · 30/03/2006 15:29

hi all,had scan and i feel much better,i now have the same risk as a 15yr old for downs. It was super lively and i heard the heart beat and got loads of pics so im relieved.

Mumtolaura - really sorry to hear your news x

Totallyfloaty - good news for you and what a relief. I can't wait til next Friday to find out one way or the other.

Paow - I think supermarket mayo is made from dried egg so it is pasteurised and ok to eat. At least I have been doing anyway!

Sunshine78 · 30/03/2006 15:59

Have also been eating supermarket mayo - last time I didn't and it was a real pain when out getting a sandwhich as nearly all shop ones have it in. This time feeling a bit more relaxed.

wuzzlefraggle · 30/03/2006 16:25

mumtolaura - so sorry to hear your news, my thoughts are with you.

totally - glad that the scan went well :) i bet its a huge weight off your mind...cant wait to get mine done, but alas...it aint for another 3 bloddy weeks lol.

hope that every1 else is ok and taking it easy xoxox

Gingeme · 30/03/2006 16:42

Good on you totalyfloaty what a relief. Cant wait to have mine. Love it when you hear the little heart beat sounds abit like aspace invader machine. Went to Mothercare today bought some support bras. Ah the relief of a decent non wire bra! Asked about buggy boards. Their not gettign them in till end of April. Still got a little while yet till I got to get one.Think supermarket mayo is ok.

marthahm · 30/03/2006 18:54

very sorry to hear your news mumtolaura

totallyfloaty35 · 30/03/2006 19:51

majormoo · 30/03/2006 20:42

aah thanks for thinking of me totally floaty.
Just got a chance to log on. Scan went well. Absolutely terrifying though-not helped by the 'is this your first pregnancy questions.'
Anyway waited 1.5 hours to be seen which seemed like a lifetime and scan seemed to go on forever. However all seems fine. With the blood tests, nasal bone check plus the nuchal scan the Downs risk is 1 in 9500. Trisomy 13, which we started off with a 1 in 100 risk for, because of our history, was 1 in 2800. The consultant who saw us advised against a CVS because of these results and the risk of miscarriage with invasive testing. She said it was up to us, as they can only be certain with the CVS that there is not a problem, whereas the nuchal just gives a risk assessment. We decided against CVS.

Had a counselling session in the morning before scan (I can see one throughout pregnancy if I want-Harris Birthright is brilliant in this way) and that brought up all sorts of worries etc about the pregnancy though was worthwhile.

So what with the scan and the counselling session I am shattered now. What a day! Sorry to go on but had to get it off my chest.

Will now catch up on the posts as haven't read them yet today

majormoo · 30/03/2006 20:52

sorry to hear your new mumtoLaura. Take care of yourself.

Glad your scan went well Totallyfloaty.

Gemmitygem · 31/03/2006 04:22

Very sorry to hear your sad news, mum to laura. hope you are getting lots of support. We're here if you need us!

totallyfloaty and majormoo, well done on your scans; you must be very relieved!

I'm 12 weeks today, so feeling tentatively more relaxed. Now can only wear ironed shirts at work, no stretchy tops, otherwise definitely look preg.

Off to Kyrgyzstan by car for work on Sunday; (only 3 hours from the south of Kazakhstan). they seem to be having some riots so hope it is ok. Anyway will only be in a boring conference, so would be good if something broke it up!

paow · 31/03/2006 10:58

Great news about your scans! I'm so jelous, can't wait to have mine!

Gingme: The sell the buggy boards on Ebay, i saw them while having a look at the lovely prams!

Take care all and have a lovely weekend.
