Hooray I don't have GD!

Am I talking to myself here?!

bluer how are you doing?

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 29/01/2013 14:54

Oh dear. I dropped my car at the garage and walked the 20 mins to the hospital for my abdo scan (re the pain they admitted me with). Checked the letter when I got there - fast for 4 hours beforehand. I could swear it said 'no prep' first time I read it. So I had to rearrange it. Then I got back to the garage (reverse lights aren't working). Isn't the bulbs. Isn't the switch (like they thought). Got to take it to an electrical specialist. Not the best afternoon but off to take DNephew swimming now so hopefully it'll improve :)

snowqueenrollo · 29/01/2013 17:54

i'm around. feeling just floored by the last week and a half. A is just scrummy though.

faith i will be at LCH weekly for a few weeks.....next week i'll have the MIL/SIL along but after that I'll let you know what times my appts are and we can maybe try and grab a coffee? I have to take A to the fracture clinic to have a fresh cast put on every week for about 8 weeks....
Waiting now on the results of the latest blood test on A for bilirubin. I am seriously going to melt down if I have to go back in with him. I can't cope with it. I mainly can't cope with the crappy method of getting blood from him. It is so distressing.
They wanted us to sit in a side room and wait for two hours!! but we came home....we only live ten mins away....they are phoning us.
I have very little confidence in them....we get there and have to explain to the Dr the course of events and treatment so far. Can't he read the sodding file?

I am really scared this is going to push into PND......I can cope with one or the other, but both at the same time is too much. Weekly appts at Linc, screening test on Friday, HV wants to come same day can't get hold of her to change it....m/w still visiting.....I just want everyone to sod off and leave me to enjoy my baby.

bluer · 29/01/2013 20:03

Hey faith! Hey queenie!
Sorry I've been remiss in my peshing...good news on the test and on the baby...you two have been busy.
I'm just soldiering on...got my twelve week scan on thurs, weirdly excited and nervous if that makes sense. Can't wait to see the wee one again but scared in case there's a problem

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 29/01/2013 20:24

Ah I remember that feeling well bluer. I blubbed when I saw Pickle wriggling!

Queenie yes would be luffly to see/meet you! After next week I am going on to short shifts so I should be able to meet you one end of the day when you're over! Lates I start at 11.30, earlies I finish by 3 :)

What was the outcome of the tests today? I hope things are settling down so you get time to just bond with your boy.

bluer · 29/01/2013 20:41

Even Mr df has admitted to excitement! He's usually quite reserved but I think the worry about not getting pregnant has made him much keener and more on board. I very much pushed the ttc and he wasn't into it but I think the fact it took longer has got him into Daddy mode Grin

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 29/01/2013 20:47

I think it takes most blokes a while...my MW was asking if MSB is excited this morning...excited doesn't cover it! He reads his books and looks at his "Pregnancy for blokes" app and tells me details about Pickle's development :) don't tell anyone but I'm sure I saw him wipe a tear at the 12 week scan too

bluer · 29/01/2013 21:04

Hey keeps rubbing my tummy...feel like a Buddha Grin
Annoyingly he's not prepared to discuss names yet...I worry about his taste too haha...he has expressed an interest in some very dull names but since them nothing. I on the other hand can't stop thinking of names but they're to of for him.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 29/01/2013 21:42

I jokingly said to MSB a few minutes ago, hmm..my boobs feel really heavy...maybe I'm pregnant?! He laughed, looked at my big belly and asked me when I last saw my fanjo! Grin

I don't think we really started talking names til after the 20 week scan. We had very flippant 'What about x?' but after we got an idea of what sex it was it was easier to start fine tuning choices. Somehow after 20 weeks it felt more real to us?

bluer · 29/01/2013 21:49

Maybe that's what he's waiting for! As a teacher I have some very specific names feelings...basically a bad experience is enough to put you off ! I'm thinking we'll find out the sex...our parents are against out and think it should be a surprise...won't be telling then!

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 29/01/2013 21:55

I've found it really frustrating with people dictating that you musn't find out! Hmm Fortunately out families have been alright. But yes, no need to tell them eh?!

Being a teacher must make it tougher. Most of my patients have names you'd never go for. MSB's Nan wants us to call Pickle 'Winnie' - her middle name and NN. It's also my Grandma's name. But still, no! :)

bluer · 29/01/2013 22:17

MN....his names are just not my cup of tea...he likes kayleigh which is not my style at all...

bluer · 29/01/2013 22:19

MN....his names are just not my cup of tea...he likes kayleigh which is not my style at all!

snowqueenrollo · 30/01/2013 10:13

well it's a good thing we didn't wait at the hospital. it was 9pm!! by the time the results got back to the ward from the lab......anyway, his level is low enough that he doesn't need any more treatment Smile

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 30/01/2013 10:20

Hooray! Grin Really glad you went home then and delighted that he doesn't need more treatment.

I am now vaccinated against whopping cough. Seriously, that jab stung! The nurse said its the same as they'll give my PFB at 8 weeks?! Shock made the controversial decision to have it in my right (dominant) arm because I can only get comfy to sleep on my left. Dunno if I'll live to regret it. It aches! Ah well, all for baybees benefit.

blue I quite like Kayleigh...don't think MSB would go for it though.

snowqueenrollo · 30/01/2013 11:25

faif i'm really confused by this....ALL the literature i read said it was the one they give as the school booster (Repevax)....it's not the same as the 8 week one.....

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 30/01/2013 11:28

That's what she told me...but then again she said it was the same as the one they give 3 year olds....it's got typhoid in it too?! Ah well, either way, it stung like mad and now my arm hurts but at least I'm vaccinated, eh?!

bluer · 30/01/2013 18:29

Glad it went well queenie
I have nothing against Kayleigh other than teaching a nightmare one who actually kicked a hole in the classroom door...Mr df just can't get how a year of wailing 'Kayleigh don't.....' Gets to you!

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 30/01/2013 18:57

It's all about association!

bluer · 31/01/2013 17:50

Well i'm eleven Weeks
The wee one was very camera shy and my picture was so bad the woman said i'm sorry you've got a crap photo! But I don't care...I saw the heart fluttering! Out was face on the while time hence the poor photo ops but we saw it waving at us and jumping about! Blooming marvellous! !

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 31/01/2013 18:15

Oh fantastic! 11 weeks already? Did you think you were so far along?

We had the opposite at the first scan - great pictures but unable to measure because if positioning! I know what you mean, all you want to see is a wriggly baby and a beating heart :)

We are now visiting MSB's family in Devon. The journey really took its toll on me - when we stopped about 2 hours in I threw up! Confused We had planned to see his grandparents then travel another hour and a half but have chosen to stay here tonight and travel tomorrow. Will be better for me and give MSB a rest from driving. We went for a nice walk by the sea with their dogs this afternoon. I am a bit slow but it was nice to get some fresh air and some time to chat :)

bluer · 31/01/2013 18:45

Sounds lovely. We had our honeymoon in Devon and Cornwall and I love it! !

The dating is a bit further than I thought and a bit less than the doc thought! I'm glad it's still August due date as my sister gets married in September!

FriendofDorothy · 31/01/2013 21:39

We went to Cornwall for our honeymoon too. It was lovely :)

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 01/02/2013 23:59

We went to the Lakes for ours. Twas beautiful.

So I've met everyone now....including the MIL. Only been married 4.5 years....she is...fascinating. Not quite what I imagined but clearly on her best behaviour. She is very excited about being a Grandma though and offering us stuff so can't knock her for that. Pleased to say his grandparents like me though :) and getting on well with his cousin and wife who we're staying with.

blue it's good that the baybee is due at a good time. I am August burfday and it was pretty good. Always on holibobs for it :)

bluer · 02/02/2013 08:03

It's ideal time....we finish for hols on last day of June and term starts the 18th August .....so I get my six Weeks hols and can start maternity first day of term! Also means i'm not tempted to try to work as near to due date as possible to stretch maternity pay! I will then head back the following June for the quiet and easy last few Weeks of term and get my six Weeks summer hold paid again! Couldn't really have timed it any better considering....bit worried about the bridesmaid thing though.
That's great the inlaws are nice. .makes it so much easier. mine are lovely but as they live far away I only see them a few times a year...best of both world!
