Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
momamia · 27/05/2006 09:59

Hi everyone, yes i'm still here, 4 days overdue now. I was having a tightenings yesterday all day about every 15 mins, but they wasn't painful. This morning i have had a few tightenings but nothing significant, lets see what today and tomorrow bring, if nothings happenings i've got an Induction booked for Thursday which means it would be a June baby instead. I really want it to be a May baby so i will have to try everything possible to bring it on.

I hope the rest of you ladies are ok, speak to you all later :)

momamia · 28/05/2006 09:20

Morning ladies, this thread seems awfully quiet is evereyone having their babies now, am i the only one left?

I'm 5 days over now, had a show last night and this morning, i've been having regular tightneningsall morning, but they are still not painful, i'm really hoping my waters break. Please Baby Girl hurry up:)

sniff · 28/05/2006 10:49

I am having tightenings too and the dreaded diarrhea again but nothing else

Capes · 28/05/2006 19:02

Hi guys,
Just thought I'd join in on the waiting thread.
The first of my many due dates came and went yesterday. This thread has kept me sane over the last week, I'm going really crazy now. The longer I wait it seems like the more problems I find that need solving once the baby is born. Momamia don't you have a toddler as well? How r u finding it my DD1 is exhausting me at the mo? I don't know how I'd cope if DH was at work!!
:(

squidgeymiller · 28/05/2006 20:15

sorry have been absent lately - good luck to those still expecting and congrats to all the new arrivals.

Would never have believed how time consuming a new baby is!!!

DH back at work Tuesday and my Mum on the way to help out as we speak (not sure if this is a good thing or not!!)

Niamh is doing well, although I'm a little concerned at how much she's sleeping during the night. If I feed her at about 8pm I usually have to wake her up to feed her again through the night. I have tried to leave her to see how long she'll sleep without intervention but bottled it after 7.5 hrs. I know I should be glad of the rest but all the midwives in hospital said a new baby shouldn't go longer than 6 hours without a feed. Does anyone know why this is and how long this applies for?? Niamh is now 2 weeks old and was 2 weeks late, so I'm not sure if it's normal for her to want to sleep so much.

Am beginning to go crazy thinking about this, any advice would be fab!!

Capes · 28/05/2006 20:43

Squidgy
Don't know if this is any help but at 2 weeks I was told to stop waking my daughter 4 feeds. Advice is definately different though because we were told she shouldn't go more than 4 hours before that!!

She would never have gone 7.5 hours and I think I probably would have started to worry around then too!!

Are you still being visited by a midwife because they should tell you, if not contact your health visitor because even if they haven't contacted you yet they are suppossed to be there to help.
No question should be too small.

Hope that helps and hasn't just confused you more, when we had DD1 we refered to the first few months as pin the tail on the donkey!! Close your eyes and let your baby guide you!!
:)

momamia · 29/05/2006 12:05

Hi ladies, sill here, am now 6 days overdue, my tightneings have been and gone, i'm going round the twist, what can i do, i've had pineapple, sex, done the housework????????

capes - i do have a 2 year old, and yes i'm finding it really difficult but lucky my partner has finished work now until the 12th June so i'm hoping this baby will arrive very soon. I know i won't go any longer than Thursday cos thats my induction day, but it means it won't be a May baby :(. I suppose as long as she is healthy thats all that matters. :)

Lets hope there will be some more arrivals very soon!!! Speak to you later...

Dunnyjo · 29/05/2006 13:57

Hello all, been away this week due to a new arrival last sunday. Had my baby 10 days early (so all those going on's couple of weeks before hand were things progressing!)
Waters broke at 1045pm/contractions started 11:15pm and was born vbac at 2:38am. All happened very quick. Tore though Grin managed to survive on only gas and air and forgot to use it for the last 40 min of pushin (far too busy lol) Got home the same day and all was well till tues ended up with bladder infection. So with that pain and after pains it was not nice at all Shock But today i feel great, love looking at him all the time. His name is Andrew Johnathan. He weighed 6Ib 7oz, lovely little bundle. Ds1 loves him to bits. Have to watch him closely with new baby as he gets a bit too excited lol Shock
With all the running to the loo for clear outs and intence nesting and contractions was sure signs things were on its way so ladies it will not be long before we have all done it Smile Hoping wont be too long now, the wait is well worth it in the end Smile x x x x x

fenny1 · 29/05/2006 17:11

Just popped in quickly, so little time to do anything normal now!
Keep your chins (!) up those of you that haven't started yet, not long to go. My only useless words of advice are REST!! while you can. xx

thebecster · 30/05/2006 09:32

Congratulations Dunnyjo! Nice to hear from everyone from the 'other side' - can't wait to join you! Today's my due date but there is no sign at all of anything happening... Definitely no nesting instinct or surge of energy - quite the opposite in fact Grin

I'm going to the midwife tomorrow afternoon & am likely to get a sweep if nothing's happened by then. Hope that will kick things off!
Good luck everyone!

HandbagAddiction · 30/05/2006 11:19

Still here with you all at 40+2 and this baby is showing no signs whatsoever that it's coming out in the near future. No tightening and in fact I'm feeling the bes I've felt all pregnancy - how mad is that! REally want something to happen this week though and avoid induction.

Think dd is also getting bored of the baby in mummy's tummy too - she keeps asking if it wants to come out and watch 'charlie and lola' with her!!

Hope everyone else is OK. Congratulations to those who hare already Mums and hope those still waiting aren't climbing the walls just yet! Grin

sniff · 30/05/2006 13:48

I have resigned myself to the fact I will be induced on Friday after many pains still nothing doing why are my kids always late!!!!!!

runtus · 31/05/2006 09:35

TheIncubator · 31/05/2006 20:32

I hope everyone is well. Good luck to those of you who are still waiting for their little bundles of joy. Not too long to wait now...

Seeing as I'm no longer 'incubating' I thought I'd change my log in name to MontysMum. :)

TheIncubator · 31/05/2006 20:38

If I can figure out how to do it!

Congratulation montysmum and runtus!
Are we all going to keep in touch on the postnatal thread?

thebecster · 02/06/2006 09:38

So sick of waiting! Who else is still here? Can't wait to join the postnatal thread, but this baby is quite comfy and there's no sign of him being ready to come out!

mrsbabookaloo · 02/06/2006 18:04

Hi, I'm crashing in from the June thread, inviting the becster and any ladies left on the May thread to join us. I've been lurking on here a little bit through my pregnancy, as mine is due 05/06, so I've been at the same stage as a lot of the late May babies.

becster: I read your earlier posts about your sickness with sympathy and disbelief about how long you were sick for and how often. i don't know how you carried on. Have you at least stopped being sick now? I was very sick for the first 19 weeks and it was awful, awful, awful. You've been really brave.

We've had 4 or 5 babies already on the June thread, and the rest of us are waiting....

hockeymum · 03/06/2006 11:47

Just popping back to check up on you all, it won't be long now and you can all come and join us on the May Postnatal or should that be april/may/june postnatal as we have babies in all 3 months. Well get more chatty in there soon when we get past the first 6 weeks of newborn chaos and have more time.

Thinking of all those of you with a couple more days to wait. Watch a dvd, eat chocolate and relax - it'll all be worth it very soon when you have your new little ones

Hi Everyone, Congratulations to all who have had their babies.

Macey Louise was born on wednesday 31st May at 8.02am by C section (in the end) weighing 7lb 14oz and she is absolutely the most perfect and beautiful little girl i've ever seen (a little biast) sorry. Will post birth details a little later, thanks to all of you who kept me sane throughout the last weeks of my pregnancy. :) :)
Speak to you all later.

WinkyGirl · 04/06/2006 10:46

Sorry I havent been on sooner. Madeleine Ann Florence was born Saturday 27 May at 10.44am after 33 hours of contractions. I had an epidural about 8 hours before she was born which was the most amazing thing!

Madeleine weighed 9lb 10oz!

Congrats on all the other babies
