OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
thebecster · 15/03/2006 11:37

Thanks hockeymum! OMG - it really is just 11 weeks to go for me! Blimey... I'm still wilting slightly rather than blooming, but feeling quite happy about it all today. Hope everyone else is doing okay.

crumpet · 15/03/2006 11:43

Hi all. I'm not so sure about blooming, but feel absolutely vast and no idea where the room for any extra growth will come from! Something seems to have happened in the last couple of weeks though, in that I feel tons better - still knackered come 8.30, but the stiffness is much more intermittent (still agonising when it does kick in, and I move like a 90 year old). Blood pressure back to normal too.

I stop work at the end of the month (yay!) which will give me about 5 weeks to get myself organised. Not even started getting the old stuff from the attic to see what is resuable, but I'm banking on the baby not being early!

Hope you're all well, and that things are easing a bit for those who have been suffering.

fenny1 · 15/03/2006 12:13

19 days left at work - yippeeeeee
Feeling a bit better for a change. SPD easing up a bit at the mo.
DP came into kitchen last night, told me to stop what I was doing, went into dining room where he turned down lights, put on romantic song and danced with me. Made me cry it was so sweet.
Counting down to 15th May.
Hope everyone can see the end of the tunnel x

cori · 15/03/2006 13:22

Hello everyone, the countdown is on now. I am 33 weeks pregnant, I have started sorting out the baby clothes and washing everything. Trying to work out what I need to buy.I know we have ages, but starting to worry not every thing will be done. I have ordered a new baby sheepskin today. DS slept like a dream most of the time, so hope it will help this one too. I need to buy some washable nappies too. Seems like a million things to do.

runtus · 15/03/2006 13:35

God, just worked out I have 10 weeks to go today, if I go bang on my due date. If I am 13 days late though (which, lets face it is more than possible) the baby will be born on 06.06.06.........ooooeeeeerrrrrrShock He will have to be called Damien at that point, it's fate!Grin

Don't finish work until 3 days before due date, so got everything sorted really early. About 80% there now and only the last few things to get organised. Trying not to buy stuff too as I know I will get given lots of lovely things closer to the day anyway.

Enid · 15/03/2006 13:43

7 weeks to go for me. Signed off by the consultant today to have a homebirth, he said 'I can tell by looking at you that it will be fine' Do you think I can sue him if it isn't? Wink

Baby not breech anymore hurrah.

Would feel fine if it wasn't for a lingering cough. Very tired but I think that is down to being 33 wks pg with 2 other children. Apparently I look great Grin according to dh and friends. Making the most of it as I will look like death approx 2 weeks after the birth Wink

hockeymum · 15/03/2006 14:21

FENNY1 - How lovely of your dh. I'll tell my dh about that give him a kick up the jacksy! I'm angling for a decent mothers day present, my friends dh phoned me yesterday to find out what magazine subscription I thought she would like for mothers day, she'll be so impressed he even remembered. So I told DH the stakes were high this time!!

I've got 5 weeks and 2 days left to go, cant wait. I'm beginning to see an end to it now and I feel huge (walking to dd's nursery school today left me with really achy pelvis pains, so have just had a nice lie down with Neighbours and a jammie wagon wheel! (maternity leave will start soon for the rest of you too!)

Anyone heard from Mandymoo lately - she hasn't posted for ages and I wondered if everything was ok.

OP posts:
tortoiseshell · 15/03/2006 14:31

5 and a half weeks left to go for me (until due date at least, I will be at least 2 weeks late), feeling ok but HUGE. Starting to really notice the baby now when I'm walking, and pushing my heffalump 2 year old in the buggy is becoming a bit much really! Having had 2 pregnancies in ridiculously hot summers, am enjoying the cold weather, though my family are freezing!

Sorry you've still got the cough enid, but good news about baby's position!

lovecloud · 15/03/2006 15:46

Good idea to start a new thread!

7 weeks to go and baby is breech but has turned a few times, felt rib pain last night but mw said today that the baby is breech???

The heartbeat sounded much faster than my 28 week app which started me back then thinking it was a boy but after today I am back to thinking there is another little girl in there! The mw said the heart beat was about 155bpm but said she thinks its a load of rubbish - you never know!

Other than feeling incredibly tired my food cravings have finally stopped and i dont feel as hungry as I have been plus my nesting feeling is taking its toil on my dh - he thinks i have gone bonkers waking up in the earlyt hours to tell him what else we need and to clean or throw out!

I am worried that I am going to go early.

How is everyone else, anyone else got the nesting feeling?

sniff · 15/03/2006 15:48

I was very much into tidying things now much more into buying things I have suddenly realied I wont be walking round shops much longer much rather have a rest!!!

hope this sorting stuff out feeling stays with me till after the birth I will have a lovely tidy house

Mandymoo · 16/03/2006 11:24

Hi - not been on here for ages - had house extension done and been living with in laws for last 6 weeks !!!!!!

7 weeks to go and have the nesting urge! Baby is head down, finish work in 2 weeks, nursery is nowhere near ready but from prevoius experience i'm not stressing cos he will probably be in our room for first few weeks. DD (3yrs) is conveniently going through the terrible threes atm - so all in all life is good, busy and never dull!!

Will catch up on rest of thread later but hope you are all ok and will post again later!

BTW - any chance of an update on the may mummies?? May have already been one but not had chance to look yet so sorry if being lazy! Grin

Update as requested. Let me know if I've missed you or am wrong - it's not as easy as it seems!!
Not long to go now girls! Wondering if anyone will be early and beat me to it! It's exciting waiting to see.

Didnt realise there was so many of us on this thread. I wonder who will be the first to go.
I have bought some raspberry leaf tabs today. Instructions say not to take before 28 weeks, I thought it was 36 weeks. Any one else planning on taking them?

runtus · 16/03/2006 14:26

Blimey look at us all! I'm well down the list so don't think I'll be the first to go by any stretch.........hope not anyway.

What does the tea do?

sniff · 16/03/2006 15:52

I took them last time and drank the tea but I was also under the impression you couldnt take them till 36 weeks

oh beware makes braxton Hicks quite strong!

cori · 16/03/2006 16:11

I have never had Braxton hicks contrction. SO did you take tea and tabs at same time?

Raspberry leaf, is meant to strengthen and tone the uterus so when contractions starts, they are more efficent. Is also meant to promote a shorter second stage.

runtus · 16/03/2006 16:15

ooh think I'll leave it well alone for now then......

Mandymoo · 16/03/2006 20:08

Thanks for the update Hockeymum - there are loads of us!

I'm 33 weeks and getting loads of braxtons - some quite painful. Also loads of kicking (typical male!). Now getting to be quite uncomfortable in bed at night but will try and find my V cushion which will hopefully help!

Take care everyone X

squidgeymiller · 17/03/2006 08:44

Hi everyone, new thread v good idea!

I've got a question - If (like me) you've only had one scan at 12 weeks, how do the dr's know if there's anything wrong with the baby or what to look for (or do they do a full assessment when it's born?)???

Also, how do I know if I'm having BH contractions? I've had what feels like cramps a few times but my mw + books say BH is a hardening of the uterus (for some reason can't remember how to spell it today and can't be bothered to check!!) and starts at the top and travels down the belly. I've been feeling slight cramps in the lower part of my belly but it's still relatively squidgey. What does that mean?

Sorry, I'm an inexperienced 1st timer and don't seem to have a clue!!

Nesting urge is kicking in as nursery still nowhere near ready + only 6 weeks to go. V frustrating as DH keeps saying we'll do it next week. He also reckons I'm going to go early though so don't know when he thinks he's going to get everything done! he's also dragging me all over the place at the weekends to parties and see friends and gets p'd off when I want to leave at midnight. I keep having to remind him that I'm normally in bed by 9.30!

Other than that looking forward to Mat leave starting in 3 weeks - the countdown has begun!

Hope you're all well and that this crappy weather eases soon (we've had quite a lot of snow up here in Scotland over the last couple of weeks, and it's v cold - luckily I don't feel it as much as usual!)

AbiGilby · 17/03/2006 09:11

Hi, I’m new to this thread. Our first baby is due on 4th May, so 48 days ‘til due date! Don’t know the gender, I wanted to wait until we meet baby to find out. Cookie is kicking loads, and doing all manner of full body rolls, I’m sure of it, so I know s/he’s well.

Do people live locally? I should look through the last thread, but it seems quite daunting, with 862 messages!

Hi squidgeymiller, I’m a first-timer too, but I know I’ve had a couple of BH contractions now. It felt to me like my whole inside was squeezing in, and it was quite painful. My midwife said ‘you’ll just know’. Seemed like a bit of a cop-out to me, but I guess it’s true. I’m going go with instinct. Do you feel anything is wrong with baby, or is it just a worry? If you’re worried, why don’t you call up your hospital/midwife and ask them if they can monitor your baby. They will here if you’re worried.

Our nursery is also nowhere near ready, but have convinced DH to stop the gallivanting now. We spent loads of weekends travelling here and yonder visiting friends and family; Ipswich, Hull, London, Norwich etc. because we probably wont do so for a while.

I’m also looking forward to starting maternity leave! I have a stinking cold at the mo’ and am off work for the day. I have only 11 working days (including today) left until my maternity leave starts!!

Imafairy · 17/03/2006 14:08

Only 5 weeks left at work - yippee!!! am so totally unorganaised - nursery IS ready (well I've kicked DS out of it into his new room) but all baby clothes etc are still packed away somewhere!!
Am feeling pretty good, although that was helped by the fact DH, DS and I spent last week in a 5* hotel in the Canaries soaking up the sun - it was blissful!
Have started getting huge nesting and cleaning urges, but I am sure they will pass Grin - it's still 8 weeks till due date, and given that DS was 13 days late I'm not holding out too much for this one being on time!
Work is v v busy, but I am getting through it by thinking of long lazy summer afternoons spent walking in the park, pushing little one, sipping one of those mango ice thingies from Coffee Republic (and totally ignoring the sleepless nights, no peace, tiredness, sore boobs and bits etc!!!) Wink

lovecloud · 17/03/2006 15:20

Hello and welcome AbiGilby!!! :)

We are from all over the place and have one thing in common that we are all due around May Grin

My little one is in a transverse position, I can make out the head one side of my belly and all the bony feet and legs the other.

I just hope h/she turns soon - doing what I can to make them go head down. I am terrified of having a c-section and I really want to give birth like last time which I found an amazing but painfuk experience.

I notice alot of people are talking about getting the nursery ready. Are none of you planning to keep your baby next to your bed for the first 6 months at least as recommeded? My dd was next in my room for her first year. A year I guess is quite long but I could never of put her in another room younger than 8 months. I would of been in and out all night checking her of I had especially when they are a few months old.

Plus if you plan to breastfeed its so much easier in the first few months to get them out of the cot next to you, stick them on for a feed and pop them back. You can even keep your eyes closed the whole time Wink.

My baby moved my belly around so much, sometimes its quite uncomfortable but it can be fun especially when I push in twice and h/she pushes back twice... I swear they are more intelligent inside the womb!

I have cleaned and cleaned today so much that my hands are cracked from all the scrubbing - need to calm down. Even changed two rooms around. Dh will kill me when he comes in to find I have been moving furniture.

Hope everyone is feeling ok!

lovecloud · 17/03/2006 15:22

Please excuse the terrible spelling, grammar and typing!

ladyoracle · 17/03/2006 15:37

Hello. Am I too late for this one??

EDD May 25, girl, fingers crossed for hba2c (yikes)
Have done no preparation at all for this poor baby, just waiting for nesting urges to kick in. V worried about what life will be like with a new baby and 2 dd's (1.4 and 3, double yikes)

thebecster · 17/03/2006 16:26

Hello all
Utterly knackered today - only got 1 hour of sleep last night and work has been full on all day. I actually got off to sleep really easily for once at 10:30 and think I would have slept through until the morning sickness kicked in (usually 4am for me). But my MIL phoned at 11:30pm to ask me a bunch of dumb questions (my MIL drives me mad - I must admit she did a great job of bringing up my DH, but she treats me like a rival for his affections...). So she woke me up and I was seething Angry so couldn't get back to sleep, then the sickness kicked in early, I guess 'cos I was tired. So I was being sick from 1am until 5am, then lay in bed feeling sorry for myself. Sad But I've only got 3 weeks left to work after today. And my maternity cover started today and I'm already noticing the difference. So must try to keep smiling! And TGIF - so I can have a long sleep tomorrow Grin!

Hope everyone else is okay. have good weekends!
