Woke up in the night to BIG stomache pain and vivid images of chasing out of the tardis with Dr Who. Sadly, was indigestion but luckily no nasty aliens in sight ('cept me that is, ha ha). My mum came round with castor oil yesterday (EDD is tomorrow) and orderd me take it !!!! had to bite my lip and stop self flinging the bloomin' bottle across the room I am over sensitive right now, but coupled with a few other overly bossy acts, am quite cross with her.
Why does a pregnant woman become the property of everyone but herself? Oh dear, I feel an excuse for another chocolate splurge!

Schmoo - i'm with you, when will it be our turn. All i want is a little sign that somethings gonna happen soon, anyway lets see what this evening will bring. Fingers Crossed XX

Oh yes runtus you are a bit quiet!!! and TheBecster hope you are busy pushing and not so busy with the puking still (I bet you are fed up with it after 9 months of it - if you are like me you will do one final vomit after the birth and then be right as rain after that - fingers crossed)

Just to let you all know that us postnatal May mums have not forgotten you all and are thinking of you and sending positive pain free vibes! We look forward to lots more birth announcements and lots more babies!!

apologies for the number of times last msg was posted, having a few problems with pc at the moment :)

Hello Ladies..... When is our Baby going to be born????? Today is our EDD, have just had some Pineapple (!!) so far nothing is happening, in fact Bump is extremely still, am starting to feel quite impatient especially as I don't feel it's sensible to go too far away from Home on my own now, even a little waddle around ASDA was too much on Saturday, at least Big Brother has started..... however ridiculous it is it might provide a slight distraction from wondering about very twinge.....

Amusing incident yesterday as I felt a bit funny in the afternoon and suddenly had really strong tightening accompanied by increasing lower abdominal pain..... which became very painful and then 'tailed away', we both felt that things were starting,especially when it happened again alittle while later and then..... NOTHING!!!!! I suspect that it was trapped wind which my gorgeous partner was dutifully beginning to time !!!!! Oh well, it gave us a little excitement and managed to pass some time.....

bubbles28 - what is pineapple supposed to do, cos i've not had any?

momamia.... re:Pineapple..... not sure exactly, maybe there's something in it that triggers contractions to start.... worth atry isn't it and it won't do any harm..... unless that's what caused the 'trapped wind' incident !!??

How are you feeling today? Any 'signs'?

Baby seems to be very still today..... is this a good sign (My Mum seems to think so....) or should I be concerned ??

My baby is still as active as ever and I've had no twinges, no show, no contractions etc so I reckon I've got awhile to wait.

Am 2 days late and its my first. Am preparing myself for being induced at the end of next week. At least then I'll be happy if it comes earlier...

Hope at least one of us have a productive night...

bubbles28 - i think ill try the pineapple, they do say that when the baby goes quite its ready to happen so fingers crossed for you. :) I've had tightenings on and off all day, with back ache aswell, and loads and loads of pressure. I've had no show and the tightenings are not painful they just take my breathe a little. I'll have to wait and see if anything happens this evening.

Winkygirl - ask you midwife for a membrance sweep before your induced cos this normally brings on labour, it did me with my first baby. I hope things start happening soon. :)

Not long now ladies, i'll keep you posted.

Thanks Momamia. The midwife mentioned she could do a stretch and sweep on Sunday...Glad to hear it could get things going.
I'll make sure I ask about that when I see her on Friday.

Thanks for that momamia. Baby still pretty quiet, but no real 'tightenings', bit of a funny tummy earlier though..... maybe Baby is resting and is too comfy to move!!!!
Just felt a bit cross as I went to the Supermarket..... (too much effort) and the checkout woman asked when Baby was due, so I said 'today'.... her response was 'Oh well it looks quite high and then started to go about how she was 2 weeks late and had to be induced etc etc' . I'm sure she meant well, but don't people realise how emotional and overly sensitive our hormones make us!!!!! So am happy to be back in our 'nest'.

Hello everybody.
Just to let you know that we had our baby last night. A little girl. Born just before 7pm (having got to hospital at 6:15pm) and we were back home by midnight. Shocked and chuffed to have managed with just TENS and Gas 'n 'air. We are well (no stitches) and her name is Isla Rose ( to be known just as Isla). DD1 is delighted to be a "big sister".

Well everyone my due date is today, its finally here, but unfortunately not the baby as of yet, i've had no more tightneings, i think my body was just teasing me yesterday. I'm very fed up now i just need to give birth.

I've got hospital appointment of Friday to check the baby's position is still correct, i will be asking for a membrane sweep and then i will have to wait and see what the weekend brings.

Congrats on all new arrivals.
I'm still hangin in here. 6 days over and waitng for sweep tomorrow. Homebirths are cancelled due to staff shortages, so I've been a bit down about that, but may have had to go to hospital anyway.
Loads of tightenings, sometimes feels like flump will fall out! Have been avoiding net as I seem to keep focussing on induction horror stories!
Trying all traditional methods, rather cynical about them all now - this babe will come when it's good and ready.
momamia - Pinapple has a chemical in it bromelain or something. Has to be fresh and research is inconclusive (from what I read) Very nice in smoothie with ginger though!!
Good luck all - are you finding it impossible to cnocentrate on anything else?!!

Lets hope the rest of us have productive sweeps. I tried another "natural" method last night - a glass of champagne. Didnt work but was very nice! Might try pineapple today...

I have tummy ache to but I think its all wishful thinking on my behalf I see the consultant again tommorrow and hopefully they will book me in for an induction I really wanted to go naturally but I know I cant go to far over like before

I have tried pineapple have bought some clarysage rasberry tea but not tried champagne will wine do??? I have some off that how does that work ???
