bubbles28 · 23/05/2006 12:04

Good Morning..... Lovely to hear we're still managing to stay sane....just about anyway!!!!!
Plama Congratulations on your Baby Girl..... gorgeous name and what a speedy birth!!!!!
Momamia I do hope your tummy ache becomes something more exciting, although I'll miss your daily updates..... although we might manage to send each other into Labour!!!!!
We have an appointment on Thursday for a Membrane Sweep, so hopefully if nothing happens before that maybe that will do it..... I think I'll go mad if we have to wait beyond the weekend.....

momamia · 23/05/2006 14:50

bubbles28 - i feel like i'm cracking up now, my stomach has since gone and nothings happening now, please baby make an appearance, i just wish i knew which day it would happen, its the not knowing i think that driving me a little crazy.

I Hope all you other ladies are managing to stay sane! :)

bubbles28 · 23/05/2006 15:09

Momamia .....I feel the same, just don't know what to do with myself but can't find the motivation to do anything much..... especially the ironing!!!!! I agree that even if someone said it will happen on ..... Saturday I would feel better, it IS the not knowing. I keep moving between the Dining Room and the sofa in the Living Room and back again.....
You already have a little one don't you? I suppose he/she will be keeping you busy although that must be exhausting......
WHERE ARE OUR BABIES ?????

momamia · 23/05/2006 17:11

Bubbles28 - Yes i have a 2 year old and its been a complete nightmare today, he's played up all day i'll just be glad when his dad is back from work to give me a rest.

I suppose we have got to think positive otherwise we will go out of our mind, at least another day is nearly over which means we are 1 step closer to having our babies. :)

momamia · 24/05/2006 09:09

Morning everyone, well i'm 1 day overdue mow and there is still no sign of my baby. I had a dream last night that i had a show, but when i got up this morning there was nothing there, how disappointed was I Sad

Hope all you ladies are hanging on in there.
:)

WinkyGirl · 24/05/2006 11:19

Im still here too! 4 days late. Feeling fairly relaxed though and, dare I say, more mentally ready for impending birth and motherhood...(are you listening in there WinkyBaby?)

AbiGilby · 24/05/2006 13:39

Congratulations Imafairy and Plama and welcome Benjamin and Isla

pennytiff · 24/05/2006 14:24

Congratulations to one and all on the new arrivals.Grin

Sorry I have been a little absent.

I gave birth to my beautiful daughter last Wednesday. Anya Grace Tiffney was born at 19.22 weighing 7lb 9oz.

My contractions started at 6am and I had my 'show' at 7.15 am.
I walked round the flat and did figure of 8 movements until DH and I went to the park for a walk, where I proceeded to have further contractions. By 2pm I felt they were coming thick and fast so we decided to go the Royal free just for an assessment. to be quite honest I thought they were going to tell me to go home as these were just Braxton Hicks but by the time I was there I had already dilated to 6 cm.

I then went to the birthing suite at 16.30 and went into the bath but even though they helped through in between contractions I still felt more comfortable squatting. So by 19.22 I delivered her.

The labour was a fantastic experience and of course the outcome is amazing. I am sure the copious amounts of rasberry leaf tea and pineapple and the yoga really helped the cause.Grin

Loving every minute of it!!!!!!!

plama · 24/05/2006 14:27

Well done pennytiff and good vibes to all those waiting!

thebecster · 24/05/2006 14:36

Congratulations to all the new arrivals! I agree totally about the uncertainty. I'm also waiting in for a new washing machine (yes, my washing machine died & flooded our flat on Monday, great timing just before our new baby is due!!). They're going to deliver today 'at some point' between 8am & 6pm. And my baby is going to arrive at some point between now and god knows when. It feels like the two situations are oddly parallel somehow - my life is on hold!

Good luck to all the rest of you who are waiting!

fenny1 · 24/05/2006 21:05

Just a quickie to say our baby girl Gracie Mae was born 00:40 on Sunday morning by emergency section - a far cry from the planned homebirth!
She is doing really well, I am a bit shocked but glad to be home. Will leave a better message soon and catch up on all the other new arrivals.
good Luck for those still waiting x

AbiGilby · 24/05/2006 22:01

Hi all,
Congrats on new babies. Hope new mums doing well.
Still here too! Just had sweep done. Am 2/3cm dilated and fully effaced. (Have had period pains with contractions, not sure if they were regular but they kept waking me up last night)Great news. But, still could take ages so am booked in for ARM water breaking next week incase the flumper refuses to budge. So, am trying to carry on as normal, but it is hard when peeps keep phoning and asking. Grr!!
Good luck to us remaining few!!

nez · 25/05/2006 14:53

momamia · 26/05/2006 12:55

Hi everyone, It sounds like things are moving for everyone, i've got good news myself, i went to the hospital today the doc examined me and she said that i was 2cm dilated and my cervix was very soft, she could feel my membranes and the babys head, so she gave me a good sweep and she seemed more than sure that it would start of my labour. :o
Finally it all seems to be happening lets see how i go through the day.

Good Luck to everyone, will speak to you all very soon.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

sniff · 26/05/2006 13:04

good luck winky I am thinking of you hope you are ever closer to the baby now x x x x

pennytiff · 26/05/2006 13:39

Typing one handed!

Congrates Fenny1 on Gracie May. such a beautiful name.

Thinking of those of you, who are still waiting. . . it is well worth the waitGrin

Just in case you didn't know . pineapple apparently helps the cervix dilate quicker So my advice is eat it by the truck load, it didn't do me any harm, even though I know it can cause mouth ulcers.

I am sure that that the supermarkets in get it in for pregnant women, I would never normally eat it!!

BigHotMama · 26/05/2006 14:18
