Oooh I've been on my feet shopping all day. I bought some newborn tights and socks they are So Small! My mum bought some nice bodysuits from m&s so I'm getting quite a collection of clothes now :)

I love buying girls clothes, such a change from ds' stuff.
Still got a fair few bits to get, inc a car seat.

Are people buying snowsuits for their LOs? Trouble is I don't want to get a newborn one because it won't last long but the 0-3 ones are huge.

ValiumQueen · 25/08/2012 18:41

Wilhelmina has 60 contractions!

jaylee89 · 25/08/2012 18:56

i bought 2 snow suits both from baby gap they were in the sale! they were 20 quid down to 7 so got them about 6 weeks ago my first ever thing i bought.

her draw is filling up nicely but god knows where im gonna put everything lol our spare room has double bed in it so DH will have to move that soon.

what is spd? i have been having this increasing pain in my pubic bone which feels like ive been hit with a hammer anyone else have this????

kirrinIsland · 25/08/2012 19:03

DH I just did lots of blankets with DD as a new born, partly cos of the size and partly cos I thought if she went to sleep in it and then we went indoors you'd never get it off her without waking her and she'd overheat if I left it on - but maybe I worry to much?! I bought wrap around blankets instead, with holes for buggy/car straps so I coiled just unwrap her. They were brilliant. Can't link on here but google Morrck to see what I mean - although I have since seen nicer ones on Amazon!

I would have said girls names were easier than boys until this pregnancy! We are struggling, especially as we have to have something that's both Arabic and English. What do you think of Norah? Cute or just a bit old fashioned and weird? I can't decide?!

MissMummy1 · 25/08/2012 19:03

Just ordered Ina May's Guide to Childbirth and 144 Spearmint Rennies tablets off Amazon. Delivery for pregnant woman!

MissMummy1 · 25/08/2012 19:05

Kirrin I worked with a lovely Norah once! It's a really pretty name I like it a lot. Plus Norah Jones has made it a little less unknown and unusual.

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/08/2012 19:37

kirrin I'll have a look on Amazon, thanks! I was thinking just lots of layers and blankets and making sure she's wrapped up properly when we go out.
It used to be a nightmare when ds fell asleep in the buggy in his snowsuit when we were in a cafe/ shop.

ValiumQueen · 25/08/2012 19:44

I would think hiccups would be fun for a baby. They do not have MN in there remember.

jaylee SPD is PGP. Pelvic Girdle Pain, and yes, a few of us have it. Ask your MW for a referral to Physio.

Norah is cute Smile

ValiumQueen · 25/08/2012 19:45

Snow suits are a pain in the car too. They should be removed so baby does not overheat and they can be safely secured in the car seat.

kirrinIsland · 25/08/2012 19:48

Thanks guys - my names list now has one name on it!

jaylee that sounds horrid, my aching back is bad enough. Definitely speak to your midwife.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/08/2012 20:09

Ooooo my friend has the Morrck blankets I can't believe I never saw them before this little one is defo getting one.

It Will live in sleep suits till three months. White at night and variations for the day.

My wonder of the day perenial massage Grin. When to start? To start or not to star? Do we think it is worth it?

Catbag · 25/08/2012 20:20

Good grief ladies! I take a day off to get married, only to find you all have finished the thread and are seven pages into the new one! I'm going to get a drink and plough through this lot :)

ValiumQueen · 25/08/2012 20:26

Congratulations catbag and DH! Hope it all went well Thanks Wine

applepieinthesky · 25/08/2012 20:50

Congrats Catbag Smile I hope all went to plan and you had a wonderful day?

Kirrin I like Norah and think it's cute for a baby but also works well on a grown woman.

We bought a baby bath today so my list of things to get is dwindling fast. All I need now is a changing bag, baby monitor and mattress for the crib. Although we have a moses basket and cotbed as well so it's not urgent.

Asda have got another baby event starting on monday. They are doing Chicco video monitors for £45 which seems cheap but I'm going to read some reviews before deciding.

Passmethecrisps · 25/08/2012 20:59

Woohoo to catbag! I will bet you were a vision of bridal loveliness. I hope you had a fabulous day.

What exactly would one massage one's perineum with?

NervousAt20 · 25/08/2012 21:21

Congratulations catbag hope you and your DH had a lovely day!

Had a bit of a nightmare day today, the post man ripped my post box off then posted a large packet through the huge hole he left that wouldn't fit through just the letter box and then posted the rest of my box through the door Angry have a huge hole in my front door then took the dogs out and my mums dog ran through glass that we didn't no was there and we sat in the emergency vets for 2 hours and he's had to have staples and leg bandage bless him

I've got a snow suit, we will be doing lots of walking in the pram
So hopefully works well for that but might not so we shall see

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/08/2012 21:24

pass that was my final question which I had forgotten by the time I bottom the end of the sentance!

Congrats catbag hope you had a great time. Xx

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/08/2012 21:24

Not bottom, got too!!

Dixiebell · 25/08/2012 21:25

Oops, I'm one of the terrible name contractors then, with Ted. Sorry yellowwellies! Prob is, I love Ted/Teddy, but not Edward or Theodore. And my view is, if that's the name you like, that's the name you use! If he doesn't like it as a teenager, tough! He can call himself something else if he likes, but I'll be calling him Ted! :)

Love Norah.

Passmethecrisps · 25/08/2012 21:36

Each to their own dixie. You have to love the name -
Simple as that.

kirrinIsland · 25/08/2012 21:37

catbag congratulations :)

Dixiebell · 25/08/2012 22:38

Okay, question. Is there anyone who wants an epidural? I had one with DS. It was because I was induced, they had to slow down the contractions as he was getting distressed, so recommended an epidural so I could get some rest. I have to say, I loved it. After just TENS and gas before, suddenly all pain gone and they kept topping it up. I was still mobile, so able to get up occasionally, although had to stay on monitor anyway because of DS's heartbeat. And when it came to pushing, I felt strong pressure, but not really pain. Had ventouse deluvery, but again because they needed to get him out fairly quickly. So all in all, I'm tempted to think I'd go for epidural again, but feels like a bit of a cop out! Anyone else thinking this way?

kirrinIsland · 25/08/2012 22:43

Dixie I wanted an epidural with DD and they talked me into trying other stuff first. By the time I'd decided that now I really really wanted one there was no-one free to do it! I spent my pushing stage thinking "next time, just get the epidural!" But now I've actually got to make that choice I'm completely in two minds about it - I might just see how I get on.

mrswee · 25/08/2012 22:50

Hi all

I've been busy in the new house, so busy I missed the end of the thread and the begining of this one.

So busy in the house that we actually have paint on some walls and the babies rooms nearly finished the painting... which is ironic because it is the room we will need last!
however going from a shell to painted walls is amazing.. still don't have a kitchen or a bathroom or floors, but who needs them when right? lol

dixie wanting an epidural isnt a cop out! you have the experiance of the choice, so go for what works best for you. You may not have time this time round but if you do and you want one go for it. I am going to try natural this time becuase I want to use the new birthing centre but won't hesitate to have another epidural and get moved through to the wards if I can't handle it.

mrswee · 25/08/2012 22:51

NAMES... argh I am so stuck, I basically have none, it's so difficult, most of the ones on the list from last time are now taken by friends!

Bless my DH, he's just driven to 24hr asda for icecream... well he does want some too!
