DH21 I'm a godparent 5 days before my due date Shock
I've also got a wedding in Sept. Have a look on Asos. I got two maternity dresses cheap in their sale. Even full price they're not too expensive.
I've got a wedding this weekend but i'm wearing a non-maternity maxi dress thats quite floaty

StuntNun · 23/08/2012 19:17

Nervous you can express milk and let someone else give baby a bottle every day if you like. My MIL loves to give her grandkids a bottle (funny considering she breastfed all four of hers) so I'll probably start expressing for one feed a day after the first few weeks. It may come in handy at weekends as well if I can convince DH to do one night feed occasionally to give me a longer period of unbroken sleep.

DH I was godmother last week for my niece. I got a maternity maxi dress from new look for £9! Very please with the bargain. I just made sure no be got my photo side on haha. I will post a pic to the FB group.

Passmethecrisps · 23/08/2012 20:05

stunt that was my plan. I want to introduce a bottle of expressed milk from around about a fortnight in - I might even try earlier but it will completely depend on how we all settle. Only time will tell if that works but hay ho

LittleLolly · 23/08/2012 20:05

no one not no be. Damn iPad!

NervousAt20 · 23/08/2012 20:09

I do want to express eventually stunt well as soon as I can but thats for DP only, he fully supports me BF but I no he wants to be apart of feeding and night time feeds aswell so anything I manage to express will be for him Smile so many people are going to think I'm a right bitch, people have already made comments about coming round as soon as we're out of hospital to see the baby and I just laughed and made it into a joke like yeh right am I having visitors as soon as I'm home, me and DP have waited 9 months (hopefully) for this little one and will be the first to spend time alone at home with her Grin some people have looked awards and just agreed like of course of course

WaitingForMe · 23/08/2012 20:13

My favourite outfit is a non-maternity maxi dress from DP DH. That stuff should be in the sales now I'd have thought. I plan to wear keep wearing mine with cardigans as Autumn draws in. I'll breastfeed in it too.

I'd hope nobody pressured you apple but you just need to stand by your convictions and block out the negativity. Someone just posted on my FB wall about his son being "yanked (yes yanked)" out of his wife. I'm not talking about hypnobirthing there (too many cynical friends who know me as a heavy drinking super ambitious businesswoman) but I still think it's a deeply unhelpful thing to say to any expectant mother. Still, the holiness of BF and horror stories seem everywhere so it's down to us to make our choices and try to ignore the rest once we've set our position.

Right ladies, finishing touches to the nursery are being debated.

What do you think to this light, wall stickers and height chart?

Has anyone seen any better? or can anyone find me anymore inspiration or places to look?

Thanks

ValiumQueen · 23/08/2012 20:32

fatima not sure about the light unless you have a dimmer switch or gro light. I think it could be too bright and stimulating rather than soft and soothing. They are all lovely though, just the light I would not have for a child under about three.

MissMummy1 · 23/08/2012 20:36

I LOVE the light! You could use it with a dull energy saving lightbulb, one that lights up gradually?

FatimaLovesBread · 23/08/2012 20:38

The bulb we have at the moment is an energy saving one and quite dull. I had looked at the gro light though, or thought about a dimmer switch. Hmm all things to think about Smile

NervousAt20 · 23/08/2012 20:46

fatima I love them all!!

ValiumQueen · 23/08/2012 20:53

I love my gro light. Had it 6 years and swapped it from kid to kid. DH left it at MILs house once and we had to get her to post it as we missed it so much.

I have been thinking about 'best buys' and one is the Johnsons nappy box thing. They sell them in the Asda baby event often and it is white or lavender. Lavender twice as much usually, but down to personal choice. It is a box with toiletries in. I have used it every day for 6 years, and is so handy for keeping all the nappy stuff together, and handy for moving from room to room. Also take it on holiday. Best ten quid I ever spent.

DesperateHousewife21 · 23/08/2012 21:04

Thanks for all the fashion advice ladies I'll have a look at asos/ eBay/ new look etc :)

NervousAt20 · 23/08/2012 21:10

valium with the gro light is that the same as the gro egg?

ValiumQueen · 23/08/2012 21:13

Been waiting up for the washer to finish. Helps if you turn the fecker on in the first place. I only have one pair of trousers that fit over my boot so I have to washable and wear if I am going out, which I am every day with the school run. At least I will have DD2 to blame a faint hint of wee on Blush

ValiumQueen · 23/08/2012 21:15

The gro light fits into the ceiling light and you can have it as full or night light by flicking the switch on the wall. I had a gro egg and it would not work so got a refund. That was 6 years ago though indeed I bought the light with the refund on the egg!

StuntNun · 23/08/2012 21:24

Nervous easy to get DP involved with feeding the baby... when the baby cries in the night he can get up, change the nappy then bring baby to you for a feed. That's teamwork lol!

Don't forget to get in on the new thread as this one is finishing fast www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/1547119-November-2012-a-couple-of-early-arrivals-please-will-the-rest-stay-put.

VQ I've looked at the gro light before but it looks like they've stopped making them, they're no where to be seen on their website and all the other websites are out of stock Confused

Sophiathesnowfairy · 23/08/2012 21:35

I look too fatima they seem to be unavailable. Have you tried eBay?

NervousAt20 · 23/08/2012 21:43

I like that idea stunt Grin

I got a gro egg off eBay for a good price so plan on using that as a night light too, hope it will be bright enough

kirrinIsland · 23/08/2012 21:50

Sorry for your loss jaylee and glad all is well with the baby.

I have 6 weeks left at work and I can't wait to finish! I'm taking a few weeks annual leave and then starting mat leave the week I'm due.

Fatima I've been looking at those stickers - I think they're great:)

TitsalinaBumSquash · 23/08/2012 21:53

I've suddenly found myself watching the cheesy baby programmes on the lifestyle channels. Grin

I just watched "I didn't know I was pregnant" and am looking down at my bump (currently doing a jig) and wondering how on earth it happens? I'm on one hand quite jealous they bypass all the rubbish bits (especially the waiting) but also glad I do know because going into labour when you have no clue you're pregnant must be terrifying.

I'm not usually one for watching programmes about other people giving birth but I'm quite drawn to them atm. Blush
