Wow congrats to thereistheball so glad to hear the babies are ok.

Sorry for your loss jaylee and glad everything is ok with the baby.

I finish work a week on Monday! I will be 32 weeks. Taking 6 weeks annual leave and officially starting maternity leave at 38 weeks. I can't wait!!

chocice · 23/08/2012 17:05

I have decided to go to the all-day NHS antenatal class but I?ve also found a private one I?m going to sign up for. It sounds quite good. It?s a mixture of pregnancy yoga, tai chi and hypnobirthing and is literally around the corner from my house. They only do small groups of up to 6 at a time which suits me. It starts on the 1st of October for 6 weeks so as long as he?s not too early I should be able to complete the course!

I?m finding it really difficult to concentrate at work now what with mumsnet, sorting out ante-natal classes and writing lists of things I need to get. It doesn?t help that my manager is off this week and everyone else in my department is only part time so I?m on my own after 4pm and my mind starts to wander.

I feel baby every day and have done since about 23 weeks but a lot of the time it?s more wriggling and squirming than actual kicks.

applepieinthesky · 23/08/2012 17:08

I namechanged and forgot to change back Blush woopsie! As you can see I have food on the brain Grin

NervousAt20 · 23/08/2012 17:18

Wow this thread moves fast!!

Congratulations thereis! Very glad to hear your babies are doing well and hope you are too!!

So sorry jaylee hope your okay

I'm 29+4 and my movements vary alot! Sometimes I feel a couple of kicks a day and her just 'swimming' around and other days I feel loads, it's on work days i don't feel alot because im so active so as long as I feel something I try not to worth to much because it seems to be pretty normal for us and I still don't know a pattern of movement! Most likely because I don't have a set routine with work and stuff so every days different

Sorry if I've forgot to add anything on. It took so long to catch up on this thread I've forgot most of it Blush I need to learn to remember to write as I go

WaitingForMe · 23/08/2012 17:19

I'm so sorry Jaylee and I'm glad you're ok!

Shock at Thereistheball (crosses legs tightly)

Our NHS classes are the MWs own thing too. Mine is doing three and I was delighted to find out at my 28 appointment today that her views totally fit with my hopes regarding hypnobirthing. She's very pro labouring at home as long as you can, skin on skin immediately after birth and so forth. She asked how I was feeling about labour, birth and breastfeeding and I said I was starting to look forward to it all as I believe it's what we evolved to do and she just grinned and said her feeling exactly. Great for me but it must be tough for those wanting ELCS and to formula feed in my area.

I'm shattered today. I took my stepsons to a soft play area and aside from a toilet break they stayed in there for 2.5 hours! As I went in to tell them we needed to head home for some lunch I noticed signs saying you can't leave them unsupervised (I had just figured there were lots of helicopter parents). I had been happily sat the other side of sound proof glass drinking tea and enjoying by book Blush

FatimaLovesBread · 23/08/2012 17:22

DH21 I was 39 inches weeks ago, think i'm 40/41 inches around at the moment

So sorry for you loss Jaylee and glad you got checked out and everything is fine. The pregnancy secretions aren't the best, are they? Grin

Wow congratulations to Thereistheball!! Quite scary though to think we'll all soon be giving birth

Apple I've got 30 full days and 5 half days left. Can't wait!
I've really struggled today, been on my feet more for longer periods of time and i'm shattered and ache now. My PGP is playing up Sad
But it's my first of 4 day weeks, so no work tomorrow Grin and only 3.5 days next week.

To think earlier today we'd been contemplating visiting some friends in London in October, theyasked if it would be easier to come to us and I said yes but i've been having London withdrawal so I thought about going to them. But the way i'm feeling today, would it be a really stupid idea? i'll be fat and shattered wont I?

Baby is a right wriggler, I tend to get quite regular kicks and movement, especially once I'm home and relaxing. At bed time my belly is wobbling all over the place.
I think it changes position quite a lot as they can be low but then switch to high and then in the middle Confused

applepieinthesky · 23/08/2012 17:25

I really like the sound of hypnobirthing and want the birth to be as natural as possible. But I?m not planning on breastfeeding at all and I feel like the odd one out. I don?t know many people in RL either that formula feed and hope people don?t try to force it on me.

DesperateHousewife21 · 23/08/2012 17:29

I think I've got 89 days til my due date, doesn't sound long at all!

I have a question, we've been invited to a christening at the end of oct and we're going to be godparents too so no hiding at the back for me.
I'm going to be nearly 36 weeks by then, anyone have any idea what I can wear?? I don't really want to buy maternity clothes because I'll never wear them again but obv if I really have to I will.
It could be really cold by then or still warm. I was thinking a non maternity dress with cardy but don't really know!

MissMummy1 · 23/08/2012 17:31

Thanks ladies - that's what I thought. Since posting I have felt a few kicks. I just seem to get completely paranoid about EVERYTHING!

My mw team are doing three sessions: 1 each on labour, breastfeeding and early care (I think). After pointing out to my useless mw she'd booked me on the ones 3 days AFTER my due date, she changed me into the October classes and I plan to attend all three. Not told DH yet that one of them is on his birthday, I'm sure the bribe of a nice meal out afterwards will stop him feeling tooooooo miffed!

I've spent the past few hours compiling a draft birth plan in a bid to avoid sorting paperwork be super organised! I want to have plenty of time to discuss/negotiate it with my mw as she is rather challenging. We are meant to have a 'team' of midwives yet I always seem to get her. She's incredibly patronising and not nearly as nice as any of the other midwives on the team. Luckily she doesn't cover births at my nearest maternity hospital otherwise it would definitely be on my plan that I do not want her when I am in labour and a lot less restrained with my opinions!!

Will attempt to post on the facebook group so any of you more experienced people can criticise it and point out anything I've missed - seriously, do your worst! It's quite long and anal very demanding which wasn't really my intention, but I feel otherwise my opinions will be completely ignored. (It's also more for DH to study than anyone else so he knows exactly what I want...)

MissMummy1 · 23/08/2012 17:34

DH21 have a look on eBay. There's some lovely maternity dresses on there. I'm in a similar situation as been invited to a family wedding in October. No idea what to wear, and if DH is offshore I'm debating whether or not to actually go as I know I probably won't manage the drive myself! hopes little sister passes her driving test tomorrow for entirely selfish reasons !

ValiumQueen · 23/08/2012 17:46

apple it is your choice how you feed your baby. Tbh I do not think you would have any professionals pushing it on you. I am the opposite as I only know one person who BFd their baby. Do not feel pressured into anything. Yes there are health benefits, but I am sure you have your reasons why you do not want to, and that is nobody's business but yours.

ValiumQueen · 23/08/2012 17:49

DH21 I am sure there will be dresses that can do for pg or not pg. if you go for empire line so flowy from boobs. As short as your legs will allow (mine only allow ankle length)

But we need to fill this one first >

Passmethecrisps · 23/08/2012 18:05

Evening,

New babies! How amazing. I hope mine stays put for quite a while yet.

Sorry for your loss jaylee. Your gesture with the name is lovely.

Err. Forgetting who else said what. Kicks in the foof sound awkward.

At 29 weeks I am starting to properely notice a pattern. It's a bit peculiar trying to teach when baby decides it is time for afternoon dancing.

6 weeks left at work so that makes 31 working days

Passmethecrisps · 23/08/2012 18:07

Missed the post about maternity dresses. I have a wedding 7 days before my due date - I am planning on wearing a rubble sack

ValiumQueen · 23/08/2012 18:12

pass kinky!

Passmethecrisps · 23/08/2012 18:22

I am looking forward to strutting my heavily pregnant stuff!

Has anyone else joined NCT? Have been asked twice in the last few days of I am a member.

horseylady · 23/08/2012 18:24

Baby pretty much moved under my ribs. Nice they're actually bruised and sometimes it hurts so much I actually cry. Anyway he's happy!! Movements are often, though less fierce kicks than a few weeks ago! Belly moves loads though!!

30 weeks today!! 9 weeks at work less though last two weeks will be annual leave!

In France sat outside cooking BBQ :)

DesperateHousewife21 · 23/08/2012 18:34

Lol pass that's prob all I'll manage!

I'll have a look on eBay then thanks ladies :) I'm sure I'll find a cheap mat dress or a v stretchy non mat maxi or something.

Thechick · 23/08/2012 18:38

apple I am very pro bf, but people really can't tell you what you should do with your body and your baby. It's completely your choice and you shouldn't be pressured into doing anything you don't want to.

I went to a wedding 2 weekends ago and I have quite a big bump and I bought a dress from monsoon. It stops just under the boobs and then flows and it's very long. I also found a dress in phase eight that was a similar style.

mrswee · 23/08/2012 18:57

Hi all!
anyone else totally pooped? I am so tired just from doing t wo coats of paint in the. Babies room!

God my mat leave isn't for ages.... Another 12 weeks!!! Cause I got this new job and we are skint, I need to work as long as possible. So I'm going off on holiday at 37 or 38 weeks and starting mat leave on my due date... Unless this one. Appears before that!

mrswee · 23/08/2012 18:58

I hate this iPad.. It just decides to put in full stops for me!

NervousAt20 · 23/08/2012 19:00

apple how you feed your baby is up to you and is no one else's business and don't let anyone try and force you into something you don't want to do or make you feel bad about it!

I don't know anyone that's breast fed and I'm abit worried about it as I'm sure plenty of people will moan because they can't feed LO just aswell I have a big gob and will tell them tough

horsey Envy at BBQ & France

I've finally started on my daddy pack Smile so far I have a box set off DVDs

kissyfur · 23/08/2012 19:02

Glad all is ok jaylee!

I've got 8 weeks left at work, feels like a long time

I'm very pro bf too apple but it's your decision at the end of the day. Don't feel pressured.
