We're on safari with the labour spotting signs... How long till the next baby arrives?

Pull up a birthing ball, sup some raspberry leaf tea and tuck into the 'big boy pineapple balti'. We're on the home straight!

All the best Signet, thinking of you x

I'm planning a last day of freedom today before routines and general hecticness kick in on Friday.

Signet2012 · 07/09/2012 10:32

Baby Elizabeth arrived at 630 am weighing 6lb by emergency section. Not a very good time. Didn't even get as far as labour because baby reacted badly to pessary and heart rate kept going. Will update layer. Still happy though.

Ambi · 07/09/2012 11:51

Congratulations Signet xx Take care and recover.

NeedlesCuties · 07/09/2012 16:13

Congrats, Signet Thanks

Try to rest as much as you can, give your LO a big kiss.

Ambi · 07/09/2012 16:31

In hospital now, been monitored and narrowly avoided pessary as 3-4cms. Strong pains now and again, not sure if actual contractions though. Looks like waters to be broken soon.

fairtradelu · 07/09/2012 17:54

Congrats signet and good luck ambi!

I was woken up last night with back pain and contractions but fell back asleep after 2 hours and woke up this morning with nothing. Have had a few random contractions and twinges throughout the day but nothing regular, although back pain and period aches have just started up. Am going takeaway curry tonight in the hope it'll push things along. Two days til induction...

Baby Theodore Henry Oliver was born at 9am yesterday 6/9/12 a peachy 7lb 2oz. He is perfect in every way.

Birth was horrid, everything I didn't want including drugs, epidural, forceps and episiotomy but of course completely worth it. We are both doing fabulously after discharging ourselves against doctors advice late yesterday. Will post full story and check in on next thread eventually - plenty to occupy myself right now including a baby who's just figured out how to suckle - ouch! And Yay!!

Baby Nicole was born just before midnight last night. Diddy thing at 6lbs 2.

Contractions became more regular and after a walk around the hospital at 8pm, they were every 3-5mins. Examined at 9.30pm and I was 4-5cms. Asked the MW for Gas&Air as becoming too painful. After negotiating with a super busy labour ward, they found me a room, got me up there and started on the G&A. We were so lucky as we were placed in the only birth pool and I could use it as I avoided any induction. Got in at 10.30pm, had dimmed lights, chilled music and enjoyed plenty of Gas & Air. Wanted to push around 11.30pm and she was born 11.58. It hurt a lot but was so relaxed, defo recommend. Had a few small stitches as she came out with her hand by her face.

Currently watching her sleep in a boiling and noisy pn ward. Counting down til I can go home.

Congratulations ambi and night and good luck fair!

fairtradelu · 08/09/2012 18:48

Congrats ambi and nightfall!

Wow, so does that mean there is only me and frilly left?! I thought I was giving birth last night - had regular contractions from 6 pm which got stronger and more and more regular and bloody painful. By 4 am they were every 4 mins and bloody agony. DH rang hospital who said we should only come in if we were sure we were in established labour. I could hear the woman on the phone and it kind of stressed me out so I decided we should have a lie down and wait a bit longer. We both fell asleep and woke up at 7 am and nothing. No contractions, no baby, nothing. I was absolutely gutted - all that pain for nothing.

I spoke to MW this morning and she said to rest up and try and have a normal day. Have followed orders and have had some twinges and back pain but no regular contractions. I really hope last night caused at least some dilation so it will be quicker when it finally happens for real but god knows when that will be.

Fingers crossed everyone!

Just popping on here to say hi and sending lots luck and baby labour dust to those still waiting for their precious bundles to arrive. Can't wait to hear all about them and look forward to seeing you on the other thread v soon!

Thanks xx

Ambi · 10/09/2012 02:00

Good luck Frilly & Fairtrade xx The agonising wait is almost over. It is crazy how easily the long fed up heavily pregnant days/weeks/months are forgotten after the shock of birth. That tricky Mother Nature trying to make us have lots of babies!!

All the best for your induction later Fairtrade, lets hope it moves swiftly for you xx

quickchat · 10/09/2012 21:55

Hi, Baby Boy, Charlie born 30th Aug weighing 7lbs 12.5 oz.

Born in under one hour, nearly in an ambulance! Very easy fantastic (if not dramatic) birth. Then it went pear shaped! The speed of the womb contracting almost burnt it out so it didn't contract back down. I hemorrhaged 2 litres/4 pints of blood and ended up in high dependancey getting a blood transfusion and 4 days in hospital. Bugger! I thought id finally had one of those births other folk had Smile!

Had emerg C section with DS now 5. Had 3 day on/off knackering labour with epidural with DD, now 2.9 and at last, out popped Charlie with a bit gas and air and I still end up eating hospital food!!

Never mind, he is here now and we are both well. If he would just sleep id be brand new! I will let you know 6 months from now if that has been achieved yet.

DS loves his little bro but DD is very upset and jealous Sad. I miss my DD and feel very guilty that instead of getting this time with her now DS has started school, im sitting on my bum breast feeding all day while she acts up for attention. Anyone else of two or more feeling like they miss their old babies?
I went on a mahoosive shop yesterday and spent silly amounts of money on lots of girly clothes for DD. GUILT money!

quickchat · 10/09/2012 21:56

Ooh tons of babies now. Congratulations to everyone. we are all nearly there!

Poppysnoss · 11/09/2012 12:06

Hi All.

Just to let you know Isla Jane arrived on 4th September at 04:01 weighing in at 7lb 1.5oz. Birth was a bit of a shocker, but will post details on the other thread when I get a moment.

I have no idea where the last seven days have gone...! Shock

Hope everyone is well and babies have almost all arrived??

justine09x · 13/09/2012 07:55

Awwww quickchat I feel exactly the same my eldest daughter loves the baby but my 3 year old son is v wary of the baby and keeps asking me to pick him up and he has starting playing up ....a lot!!! Feel so bad for him he keeps saying 'I can be your baby mummy' breaks my heart so it does :(

fairtradelu · 15/09/2012 10:59

Just to round off the thread: Isabelle Ayu was born at 12:14 pm on 10/9/12, weighing 8lb 12oz, by emergency C-section after v long natural labour followed by epidural and induction and then section due to my body's inability to dilate past 8 cm.

It was a bit of a slog and very bizarre to be told I needed section after all the hours of contractions and induction but the end result is all that matters and I can at least say I tried everything!

See you all on the post natal thread :)
