We're on safari with the labour spotting signs... How long till the next baby arrives?

Pull up a birthing ball, sup some raspberry leaf tea and tuck into the 'big boy pineapple balti'. We're on the home straight!

Woops congrats to you :) I'm waving from the next county to you. Your DS was a big boy, well done you!

Sending labour vibes to all those still to pop! I remember how miserable I was the more overdue I went, so I have empathy for you all. As soon as I saw my DD though I just was straight in love and it was all worth it.

woopsidaisy · 31/08/2012 16:49

Thanks ladies!

Signet2012 · 31/08/2012 17:45

I'm still here too ladies!

Nothing much to report 40 + 3 today and hoping today won't be today so baby is eldest in school year as opposed to youngest. Don't suppose it really matters either way but still!

Although have been rather damp today (TMI) it does not smell like wee but not sure if I am just sweaty or if its the start of waters going? its not coloured what ever it is and not dischargey IYKWIM Have no idea!

Going to pop a pad on and see if it increases, should I expect a gush? Or can it just be like dampness.

Had 16 texts from family today and 2 phone calls from dad who can't text to ask if any signs! Like I would not tell them! Worse thing is if I dont answer they get more persistent!

Actually beginning to hope I go into labour in the middle of the night so I know I have a few hours before I have to actively lie to people! Really don't fancy everyone wanting a running commentary!

NeedlesCuties · 31/08/2012 19:16

signet I had the exact same thing at that stage and also was baffled and worried!

Had sweep done at 40+4 and Consultant scanned me first, said amount of waters present was fine, he didn't think it was waters leaking. Suggested it could be mix of pee, sweat and vaginal discharge.

I think for some ppl their waters leak out over few hours.... I know when I had DS my waters gushed out everywhere, really could't mistake that for anything else!

Signet2012 · 31/08/2012 19:23

So I'm peeing myself and have a sweaty fanjo. Blush I love how glam pregnancy is !!!!

I'm driving myself mad sign spotting ha ha Grin

tashaw28 · 31/08/2012 22:38

Well done woopsi that's a fair size boy!!!
My waters went about 10 mins before she popped out and it was a definate pop then gush!!!

susiegrapevine · 01/09/2012 09:05

Just thought I would come on and offer my support to all those still waiting. I know how fed up you feel I did not even go overdue and I was fed up! You'll soon have your babies. Sending labour dust and hugs can't wait to see you all on the other thread.

fairtradelu · 01/09/2012 10:03

Hey signet, I'm still here too and at 40+4 as well. I'm beginning to feel really frustrated and almost angry at the fact nothing is happening. I'm obsessing over every slight feeling (nausea this morning, whoop) and really struggling to keep my chin up. Thankfully it's the weekend so have DH here today and tomorrow to keep me occupied. I just find it really difficult to plan ahead because I want to believe baby's arrival is imminent.

One quick question for the ladies who have popped: do contractions tend to start at night? Every night I go to bed believing I'm going to wake up with contractions and every morning I wake up and nothing has happened. I need to get out of this cycle!

Nightfall1983 · 01/09/2012 10:47

Congratulations to all remaining ladies - whoop September babies!!

Now, time to get these September babies moving, I've got 5 days before induction and I really want that water birth so I've started the evil sign spotting. Sigh. I don't really feel any different, I just want to.

Went for a really long walk with DH yesterday, was knackered afterwards. Also started bouncing on my ball which was quite comfortable actually. More walking and bouncing today I guess...

Ambi · 01/09/2012 10:50

40+5, I've been so annoyed upto now by late baby's non-arrival that I've given up on frustration and anger and relaxed into resignation. I'm due for induction on Fri so will have a baby next weekend no matter what. Yes I wanted to go naturally as I really want a water birth but the end result is the same. As I've barely left the house for the last few weeks, I went out shopping for hours yesterday with DD, popped into work (saddo) as a sods law test, first time out and something kicks off, nada of course!
Got home and had a long soak in the bath as I figure it'll be a while after baby born that a bath won't be abbatoir-ish or super rushed with a little one needing me for something. Had a fab pamper sesh with DD. This morning I'm trying to get the last wears out of my maternity clothes before they are binned. So generally trying to enjoy the last days of pregnancy as I won't be doing it again.

Ambi · 01/09/2012 10:53

Also pleased about the pros of baby being the oldest at school despite the cons of an extra £3k of nursery fees...

NeedlesCuties · 01/09/2012 11:47

fairtrade not sure if there is a trend regarding time contractions start...

When I had DS my waters just went themselves at 39 weeks with no contractions prior to that.

With DD I got a sweep at 10am, contractions started at dinner time and waters didn't pop till bout 30 mins before she was born (4am in morning).

Louper · 01/09/2012 13:23

Afternoon the remaining few... well it's 41+2 for me now, it's only got another 2 1/2 days to think about coming out as induction is booked for Tuesday (41+5, standard practice in my area). Everything kicked off yesterday early hours but has now ground to a complete halt and I'm just SO frustrated! Thought waters had gone (??hindwater leak though don't really know what that really is!) contractions from about 8am but only every 15-20 mins and mild, went in for check at 3pm to find 3cm dilated so early labour 'confirmed' yay but membranes there so sweep at same time. This seemed to ramp things up with proper, painful contractions coming from then till 10pm every 10 minutes... which then suddenly, inexplicably stopped. Nothing other than vague pelvis ache since and the very occasional twinge - baby still wiggly in there so I'm not worried as such - and I'm still wondering about 'leaking waters' but that seems to be par for the course on this thread! So 14 hours of contractions to nothing. nada. epic walk this morning has knackered me out and achieved zip. I cannot face any more pineapple. HARRUMPH! Minor sense of humour failure here, apologies!

justine09x · 01/09/2012 14:02

nothng happening here yet either 40+1 today, waiting for midwife to come round to do second sweep was really favourable for the sweep I had thurs evening but nothing!! its driving me mad I cant bear the thought of waving dh to work on Monday and then start thinking about the school run on tuesday with everyone going 'oh are u still here and pregnant!!??' grrrrrr I am soooo fed up god knows how the rest of you feel!!!!!

Ambi · 01/09/2012 17:18

I'm providing such luxurious 5* acommodation, my womb is just so amazing that my babies don't want to leave!!! Thats my positive thought for the day and answer to those annoying messages. DD1 was induced so I'm now expecting this one to be. I'm also trying a bit of reverse psychology "I don't want to have the baby today" Smile

Can you tell I'm fed up of being fed up!

hamncheese · 01/09/2012 20:47

At nct fairtrade they said more go into labour at night as you need oxytocin to go in to labour and feeling safe and snug in bed brings that for most people.

Hope tonight is the night for those still waiting... Cant believe it's been a month for me! Time for everyone to be on the other thread now methinks

Poppysnoss · 02/09/2012 09:18

Still here too. Had a super hot curry last night in the hope it would at the very least give me a few of these twinges everyone has been asking about. Fifteen hours later and zilch, zero, nothing....

Kids back at school tomorrow and they're fed up with everyone asking if the baby is here yet.

Oh well... :-)

Ambi · 02/09/2012 09:38

My perkiness has definitely left the building today. God I'm so fed up and pissed off that my body is unable to go into labour naturally, grrr.

Hoping everyone else is feeling a bit better though xx

Nightfall1983 · 02/09/2012 10:51

I can't believe how quickly I've gone from patient to completely fed up. I'm actually in tears today and it's ridiculous because I know there's only a few days left. I know it's silly but i really wanted a natural birth and my friend who's a midwife and very pro-water births and natural births etc has advised me to have an epidural if I have to be induced because it's so painful :-(

Not so much as a twinge here, midwife tomorrow for a sweep and I'm dreading it - I just want my baby now!

geekette · 02/09/2012 16:48

Hang in there ladies! Those babies will pop out!

It might not be the way you wanted but it will be hopefully just as good a labour!

Signet2012 · 02/09/2012 16:54

I'm stilllllll waiting. I'm quite happy in a way as I can see baby moving from the outside and I've only has that for the last two weeks as I was fat before I conceived and have an anterior placenta. So I'm kinda enjoying itBlush

fairtradelu · 02/09/2012 17:55

No baby here yet. Sweep booked for tomorrow morning. Bricking it.

Nightfall1983 · 02/09/2012 19:00

Aww signet, that's actually lovely! Recommend you sit on the sofa and put a pillow/cushion on your bump - I can't stop giggling watching it bounce up and down and sometimes baby manages to push it off!

I'm feeling a bit less sorry for my self this evening, had a lovely day. DH suggested a trip to Twycross zoo to take our minds off events and we had a great time. I walked miles and miles and am exhausted now.

Trying to make my peace with the thought of induction on Thursday, at least not long to wait now. Am still scared about the sweep tomorrow, somehow I don't really think it'll do much but worth a try...

justine09x · 02/09/2012 22:13

Just popped on to say baby Amelia grace born yesterday just before midnight all is well but she is my biggest baby at 9lb4!! Very quick 2 hr labour she's gorgeous, labour dust to those waiting xx
