Ellie they look lovely, perfect for winter, but not as fun as the Babies r us ones!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 13/07/2012 21:07

Congratulations on a blue one pidjin!!!

I have a pregnancy hypnosis cd which I used last time and it really really helped me stay calm and in the zone! I will definitely be using it while drinking my raspberry leaf tea after 32 weeks.

DH has had three interviews and has two more next week, this is all good news. He is so stressed and tired and after spending the day in London yesterday he filled up his petrol run car with diesel....EEK...and then drove 2 miles on it until it conked out and he then realised...EEEEK. AA came out today and fixed it, I thought being Friday 13th it might have been ruined (costs £1000's to fix at dealer and not covered by insurance) so that's all good too. Feel happy to Grin this evening.

Hope you're all having a good night, just on the sofa watching a bit of really terrible reality tv I'm addicted to (can't bring myself to say the name).

Barbeasty · 13/07/2012 21:20

I'm planning to start my maternity leave on my due date (or the date of a section if I get one), but then I've got 2 weeks leave to take before.

I walked to MIL this afternoon, via the shop in the next village, which is only just over a mile, and my hip really hurts now.

Hopefully a good night's sleep will help- if we get one.

FriendofDorothy · 13/07/2012 21:45

I want to take my maternity leave as late as possible as I will only be able to take 5 months off. I will probably have a couple of weeks annual leave to use up as well.

CODwidow · 13/07/2012 21:56

Ooo I'm going to buy one of those!

acjfluff · 13/07/2012 21:56

I'm also planning to stop work as late as possible, probably 3rd Dec, due on the 9th. I want to spend as much time with the baby as I can and won't be able to afford much maternity leave.

ellliebelle · 13/07/2012 22:33

cod ???

EggsMichelle · 13/07/2012 22:50

I'm sure I should get some kind of commission for promoting the wraps!

CODwidow · 13/07/2012 22:51

Sorry one of the car seat wraps Smile

PurplePidjin · 13/07/2012 23:14

Thanks everyone Thanks

Cookies, Bournemouth is going to be manic tomorrow as the torch comes through. The shop you're thinking of is very near the route. On the plus side, I'm running a youth music festival all day so if you do come down, pm me and come and say hi!

I'll work as long as possible and take the bare minimum - 3.5 hours 1 evening a week at something I love doesn't really warrant much mat leave! And it'll be good for Daddy to have to cope without me. We're in the rather odd position of it not being financially viable for me to work, so I will be SAHM for the next decade or so (we'd like at least one more, with 2.5y+ age gap!) Good job that's what i want to do, eh?!

Morning all I'm planning to work right up until I pop! I can work from home a bit do I'll mix it up as it gets near to the dd.

Does anyone else not feel particularly pregnant? I've got a bump and bigger noobs but apart from that I just feel normal...I'm guessing that's a good thing? Listen on my angel sounds monitor and heard my little lady so all seems well - I guess I just thought I'd feel more pg??

SpottyTeacakes · 14/07/2012 07:27

I sometimes forget I'm pregnant Bella!

Cookies it was the shop in Bournemouth I was thinking of when I said Poole (don't know why I thought Poole) it's the only place, I think, where you can buy all the items separately. They have a website and that's where I'm going to get mine from. If you end up going could you ask them when thy're getting the black seat back in stock?!

Once you get to about seven months pregnant you will just spend the whole time at work looking at baby things and imagining your baby. Also I think it's best to tell work a later date as you can always start ML sooner but you can't work longer than originally planned (I think. I suppose it depends on your boss too).

knottyhair · 14/07/2012 07:29

Morning! Blimey, it's so busy on here! Congratulations to everyone with scan news, I wonder who's winning, team blue or team pink?? I'll have to wait until 8th August to find out which one I'm joining. Off to Bluewater today with a friend to try to get some maternity stuff, especially for my holiday (we go on Thursday). I lost 2.5 stone before I got pregnant, and had given all my old stuff to charity so all my lovely new summer stuff will a little "snug" to say the least. Hope everyone has a nice weekend - hope the weather is kind for your festival Pidj!

Mummycox · 14/07/2012 08:28

Thanks everyone. Congrats pidj!

Love the cosy wrap blankets, am going to add to my wish list.

Happy weekend.

Cookiesandcream06 · 14/07/2012 08:39

Oh yeh thanks for reminding me pidj I had completely forgotten, I think it's another hibernating day from the weather for me and DD. good luck for today Smile hope the weather doesn't ruin your fun.

I think there is a shop in Poole as well spotty but yeh the one in Bournemouth looks good. I'm going to give it a miss today, don't spose you know if they open Sundays?! I am yet to see a Mutsy in real life and I feel once I have I will have made my decision Smile

I don't know if it's all this weather but I'm such a misery ATM. Went out for a friends birthday last night and had the crappest of time- I HATE drunk people when I'm preggers! And got soaked after spending ages making myself look reasonable so that didn't help my mood Angry

kate2boysandabump · 14/07/2012 08:52

Haven't posted in ages, been having a manic week.

Welcome to the newbies, whose names I have forgotten already Blush

Had a bot of stressful time this week, went swimming on Tuesday and got a really big kick in the stomach from a complete asshole who wasn't watching where he as going Angry cue hormonally charged rant from me at him, followed by bursting into tears and having a complete meltdown at the side of the pool. Anyway I went to my GP and after a long hunt for a sonicaid, heartbeat heard and all fine Smile Very scary though.

We ordered our pram at the weekend too, seems very real now. We collect it in November and then we have to find somewhere to store it. Where I have no idea Confused Our house is full and my mom is too superstitious to let us have it in the house anyway.

I can't believe we're starting on 20 week scans, Congrats to all those who have had them Smile teams pink and blue are starting to even out a bit now. Mine is on August 3rd when I'll be 20+6. I'm sure someone is going on the same day as me JoJo maybe?

The midwife is coming to do a home visit on Wednesday next week, so we are frantically cleaning this weekend, also because it's good to start the school holidays with a tidy house, even if it doesn't end up that way!

Is anyone else having trouble keeping their maternity jeans up? I tried to run in them yesterday and had to stop as they were falling down Blush

HoneyMum21 · 14/07/2012 09:23

Aggghhh. Scary. When do midwives usually do home visits? We're moving in a month and will be nowhere near ready for house inspection anytime soon!

Cookiesandcream06 · 14/07/2012 09:39

honeymum a midwife never came to my house till after DD was born .. So Don't panic yet!

SpottyTeacakes · 14/07/2012 09:52

cookies I'm sure it will be open today maybe tomorrow too.

I'm eating chips and dip Blush

JoJoB77 · 14/07/2012 11:07

Yes my 20 week scan is on the 3rd Aug too Kate Smile i'll be 20+4.

We're just on our way home from having a few days down my parents caravan near Weston. Was a washout tbh. Tomoro is meant to be a nice day. Typical!

Have good days all Smile

SeymoreInOz · 14/07/2012 11:44

Congrats pidj!

Not sure about struggling to keep my maternity jeans up, I'm struggling just to get them up in the first place! I feel mahoosive at the moment.

After all my stressing I'm feeling a few more kicks now. DH felt one for the first time this morning.

acjfluff · 14/07/2012 11:50

I still haven't felt my baby. 19 weeks tomorrow! Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 14/07/2012 11:52

Don't worry acjfluff you will Smile probably the way they're laying and the position of your placenta. Give it a few weeks and you'll be feeling them lots!

SeymoreInOz · 14/07/2012 11:58

acj don't worry, it really varies. I didn't feel my first baby until I was 24 weeks. My second baby moved loads, this one hardly moves at all!

ivanapoo · 14/07/2012 12:03

I am totally getting the bee car seat wrap, that is beyond adorable! Thanks for the recommendation.

Is anyone else bricking it about the 20 week scan?
