Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HoneyMum21 · 13/07/2012 17:17

Congrats pidj and welcome to team blue :)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 13/07/2012 17:30

Yay pidj and yay for more pictures next week :)

WeeJo08 · 13/07/2012 17:54

Congrats Pidj! Grin Someone more technical than me should start a Team Pink/Blue tally chart for those of us who are finding out! Hopefully this time in two weeks we will have found out too! Any new pics, Pidj?

ellliebelle · 13/07/2012 18:02

congrats pidg have the blue beans taken over yet? maybe we could add our flavours to the stats thread?

weejo thanks for that link going to get a cd ordered asap i think :)

is anyone else suffering with menstrual like pains? I've had them for the last 3 evenings and i don't remember them from last 2 pregnancies :( really worrying especially when i still feel no movement and haven't heard the heartbeat i'm starting to feel anxious

ellliebelle · 13/07/2012 18:07

weejo sorry to be a pain but do you know which cd's you have?? there are lots of different packs to choose from

SpottyTeacakes · 13/07/2012 18:10

Congrats pidj Smile

WeeJo08 · 13/07/2012 18:12

elliebellie No probs :) It's "Self Hypnosis audio CD Pregnancy Relaxation" It also says 2nd edition if that helps. Hang on two secs and I will take a picture of it and put it on my profile...

EggsMichelle · 13/07/2012 18:17

ellie I'm not having what I would describe as period pains, but horrible stabbing/ straining pain and feeling like all my organs are being squashed!

I would love one of those CD's, did a lot of meditation in the past, but definitely wouldn't be able to persuade my DH to listen to anything that suggests its hypnotherapy based!

After our scan next week, I'm going to buy a car seat wrap, they look so cuddly and cute, perfect for the winter, but still resisting the temptation to buy big things.

WeeJo08 · 13/07/2012 18:21

Hmmm, okay I can't seem to do that on my iPad. Sorry! BUT I have had a look at the site and the one I have is the "Range of Pregnancy Relaxation CDs" and I reckon the birth one is "Range of Effective Birth Preparation CDs" but I can double check with my friend (she still has it as she is 36 weeks pregnant!)

Clarella · 13/07/2012 18:24

Hooray pidj! Great news and a wee boy! We're building a small footy team here ( though of course our boys could equally be ballet dancers and speed knitters!) Funny about bladder, you said that's where you felt it!

elliebelle I felt like that last wkend when appeared to have a growth spurt plus some swollen internal piles (lovely, blush) but maybe check out if continues?

Welcome catfart!

Sorry to hear people feeling rough and down, hope you perk up soon. I'm still getting phases of morning queasiness at the same level as in tri 1 but not every day.

ellliebelle · 13/07/2012 18:30

thanks weejo
eggs michelle i plan on just putting the cd on in the bedroom when we go to bed ( i think im lead to believe it still works if you fall asleep to it)
clarella hopefully ill be having a growth spurt then :) i still haven't put a single pound on which i also find strange as i piled the weight on with the dd's (perhaps its a boy) DH said im probably just using all the calories i eat although im not convinced with how keen on chinese and kfc i have become :)

SpottyTeacakes · 13/07/2012 18:41

ellie sometimes I get really bad pains it causes lots of worry!

Just got my Doppler Grin

ellliebelle · 13/07/2012 18:53

i want a doppler :) did someone say they got one without headphones that plays sound outloud? thats the kind of thing i want

also michelle what is a car seat wrap? it sounds lovely

has anyone decided when they are going to start mat leave yet?

SpottyTeacakes · 13/07/2012 19:01

I will probably go at least six weeks before due date as dd was born at 36+1

WeeJo08 · 13/07/2012 19:04

Elliebelle The one I have (same friend who lent me the CDs!) is an Angel Sounds one and has headphones - although the ones that come with it are a bit crap so I just use my regular headphones. There are two little headphone sockets so DH can listen too. Haven't looked for any without headphones but I'm sure they exist.

Re: maternity leave, I think I'm going to try to hang on until 37 weeks so for me that would be finishing on Fri 17th November...I have quite a short commute (15 mins on the bus) so hopefully that will be okay but I will see how I feel! What about you?

ellliebelle · 13/07/2012 19:13

i was going to work till 37 weeks but im a childminder and had a conversation with my mindees parents today that has left me worried that they are going to cut their hours right down from september so ill prob have to take mat leave from 8th october (earliest i can claim allowance) which mean pay will run out early july which is earlier than i wanted to go back to work but o well :)

Cookiesandcream06 · 13/07/2012 19:16

Congratulations pidj lots of blue ones now! Have we heard from queen?

Thanks spotty but I've now found it, there's a stockist in Bournemouth which isn't far from me so might try and go down over the weekend at some point.
Has anyone got any thoughts on the upperbaby vista?? Thought it was a strong contender and has some good reviews?

As for mat leave I've given work an estimate of the first week in Nov. where I am on my feet all my shift and suffered with terrible sciatica last time i'm even concerned about going then and I'll be 34ish weeks?! Got a couple weeks hols I'm going to try and attatch too though Smile

EggsMichelle · 13/07/2012 19:18

Congrats Pidj, we definitely need a tally now, im struggling to keep up!

Ellie I found the wraps in the babies r us catalogue, type car seat cosy wrap into their website, they really are the cutest thing, a bit of a cross between a snow suit and a blanket, i reckon it has a swaddling effect too! Plus they are different animals, I love the Bee one and bear, think ill get two!

I've been saving my annual leave, got 4wks left, then will start ML 2wks before, so will do nothing but relax and nest as home from 34wks!

SpottyTeacakes · 13/07/2012 19:20

I might even go earlier as I'm not planning on going back.

Uppababy Vista is what I originally wanted but dp said no because of the price and actually it's really heavy which is a downside for me. You can compare the two at bestbuggy.co.uk (I think that's it)

ellliebelle · 13/07/2012 19:29

also just realised today that ill be 32 weeks when we go to euro disney so really hope i still enjoy it

ellliebelle · 13/07/2012 19:32

they are really cute michelle similar to www.amazon.co.uk/RedCastle-Babynomade-fleece-size-ivory/dp/B000NNYJD8/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pdT1_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=CZKRDFZ785OR&coliid=I214ZKFS3T68A5 which i wanted but wanted to wait till baby is born to get a gender specific one so might get the bee car seat wrap to use straight away :)

olliebob · 13/07/2012 19:40

I have told work that i am hoping to finish work mid november and take a couple of week annual, hopefully start maternity leave the week i am due as well. This is cos both my other dc where born overdue so sort of guessing that this will happen again, hope it wont tho. i only work 4 days a week tho and work flexi so am able to normally travel outside peak times Smile.

littlemissbroody26 · 13/07/2012 20:07

congrats on your little blue footballer/ballet dancer pidjin :)

ellie i get mildish period type pain, my periods were killer so i havnt had pain that bad but that sort of dull ache i have had on and off... also sharp cutting pains but that was mostly in the 1st tri. I hope it eases of for you soon!

I'm thinking of taking ML in early november, i teach kids english and the actual work is lovely and not to heavy or stressfull but i have to travel from place ot place with a big bag of games/learning resources and i think that will get too much for me. also im really worried about slipping on the ice/snow. I feel a bit bad because it will come of the end of my leave but it will still take me till the baby is 14 months and they can go to daycare from 1 here (not before) so it will still work.. and really what is the difference between a 14 or 15 month old in terms of daycare.

The car seat cosy is so cute! i want one for the baby and one for me!!

HoneyMum21 · 13/07/2012 20:18

I have no idea about mat leave - my boss is very easy going so think we wil be quite flexible and work it out nearer the time. In an ideal world i'd like to work as close to birth as possible so i can get as much time with him as i can afterwards but as i'm on my feet most of the day and lifting stuff i guess i'll have to play it by ear a bit.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 13/07/2012 20:21

ellievellie we're going to Dubai when I'm 32 weeks, I'm slightly apprehensive about it! I'm sure you'll love eurodisney!
