SpottyTeacakes · 11/07/2012 12:00

Do it! Grey's and House are my box set must haves Smile

Barbeasty · 11/07/2012 12:26

Glad everyone's ok.

I feel dizzy occasionally because of low blood pressure, but it's generally ok.

Well, DD has chicken pox. Again. But the Dr said I should be fine now I'm in the 2nd trimester.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 11/07/2012 12:32

Ok, real cravings have started, for lunch I am eating.....a mashed potato sandwich!!!?

I have just done 1hr of Zumba so obv craving carbs but this is ridiculous!! scrummy though

Bubbless · 11/07/2012 13:39

clarella- yes!!i knew eveyrone on here would understand. i always wanted children early, because it leaves time for my career later.. when im older and people are more willing to take me seriously!! your job sounds amazing, tbh!
on the 27th dec last year i was snowed in at the top of the highest hill in my area.. 4x4's coudlnt get up it.. im kinda worried about dp having to drag me down the hill on a bedsheet to get me accessible whilst in labour.. lets hope for no snow this year!!

pink- i gave myself a heart attack yesterday as well by eaten an entire jar of olives, my dp walked through the front door to me scoffing down the last one with cries of 'you cant eat that! the baby! the baby!'.. we panicked for 5 mins trying to find the do / dont eat page on the net and i could eat them after all of that ¬¬
my thoughts on the food issue is my grandmother craved tuna and stilton cheese for all of both of her pregnancys.. and my aunt and mother are alive and well.. guidelines not rules!!

stacey/ wejo/ other doppler owners- how easy is a doppler to use? i was looking at getting one but i didnt want to worry myself if i couldnt find the heartbeat :/

barbeasty- glad you and dd are all safe, even though chicken pox are horrible!

strawberry- i plan on seeing everyone at the hospital, because it makes people uncomfortable and they wont hang about, so when i get home i can relax for a bit!! very good point though, will learn from you about visitors!

mw appointment tomorrow and il be 16 weeks exactly.. do i get to hear the heartbeat?!?!

sorry my posts are so long :(

SpottyTeacakes · 11/07/2012 13:48

stacey umm that sounds lovely....Confused

Bubless yes you should get to hear heartbeat tomorrow Grin

Off to look on eBay for dopplers, dp hasn't heard the heartbeat yet

Bubbless · 11/07/2012 14:04

is there any kind of brand of doppler i should be looking at, im so new to this i have no idea!

SpottyTeacakes · 11/07/2012 14:13

Angelsounds is meant to be a good one

Clarella · 11/07/2012 14:41

u turning like a headless chicken, its like spaghetti junction in here - to know or not to know that is the question! Getting soo nervous!

bubbless I think that everyone has to do what's right for them at the time having a clear idea of why you are doing what you're doing is the main thing imo - if i were in a relationship that was going somewhere earlier on in life id have popped some kids out but tbh I wasn't ready, and didn't have the right relationship (s). My work became my baby (i did art so it almost became a work of art in a weird conceptual way!) but in the last few years I was aware I needed something else. a lot of people at work say that having children puts a lot of things into perspective and certainly teachers who come into the profession later in life can have a calmness that younger teachers often have to build over a few years (like me!) Yes I love my job despite frustrations with the adults! And I get to regularly blow up cola with mentos :)

Chick pox again?! C'est possible? Poor mite. Hope she gets well soon!

itsMYNutella · 11/07/2012 15:59

Bubbless I think we're due date twins :o i'm due 27th - although I think the baby will be late Hmm . One scan said 28th another said 26th so the period maths comes up with 27th which seems about right!

And on the career front, I worked hard in my old job for 8 years and am in the process of totally changing everything (umm even my country of residence) and I've just turned 30. Which I think is fine because I'd rather have kids now than when I'm halfway through establishing a career (who am I kidding, I like working but career.... Well we shall see). Anyway, totally with Clarella you do what's you believe is right for you; no-one else can tell you what that is :o

Clarella · 11/07/2012 16:08

want a facebook 'like' button :)

Bubbless · 11/07/2012 16:29

cola and mentos sounds like amazing fun! i do that sort of thing at a youth camp i help run in the summer- which im looking forward to so your work sounds incredible. at the moment i work in a kitchen in a school, it was an easy option straight out of 6th form because i needed to earn a good income (i was looking after my mum and younger brother and responsible for bills etc since aged 15) so i havent really had a chance to explore what i want to do.. but im hoping to do some studying during maternity leave, be a sahm, and get ready to do something with my life later noone believes that this was my plan all along, but i promise it was!!
just so annoying to always be judged because of my age, even by my family!!
this is deff the right time for me to have children, it just makes it so much harder when noone else agrees!!

im going to look at getting a doppler, think it would be great to hear heartbeat with dp.. getting nervous for mw appt tomorrow :(( i dont like my mw

nutella- exciting to have someone due the same time as me, means i can stop compaing my slow progression against everyone elses who are due in early december leaving us behind!!

Grin

on another note- i am so constipated Blush Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 11/07/2012 16:35

I bought a Doppler so excited Grin

Bubless I'm 25 and feel sooo young so I know how you must feel. Neither of my pregnancies were planned Blush

I've worked really hard in my job for the last five years but my boss is a wanker who demoted me after I went part time post maternity leave so not sure what the future holds for me career wise, hopefully start something entirely new in a few years

FriendofDorothy · 11/07/2012 16:49

I am constipated too and it is driving me nuts.

I would have given anything to have had children in my twenties. It just wasn't to be :(

SpottyTeacakes · 11/07/2012 16:55

I'm the opposite of constipated Sad I reckon you guys have it worse though

Clarella · 11/07/2012 16:58

that sounds hard at an early age bubbless - imo you will be mature beyond many of your peers having to shoulder that responsiblity. Also, just for info, Ive known kitchen staff to move into working as a TA and then even moving onto teaching through doing all the various courses availiable, esp if you do youth work.

when a class like hitting and biting i tend to do a lot of work on 'forces' :) (plus regular visits to the trampoline and sensory room) so rockets and cola feature heavily in my planning! works a treat! cant wait to do these things with blueberry.

right, im finding out tomorrow, no more u turns.

Clarella · 11/07/2012 17:00

glug the lactulose guys

SpottyTeacakes · 11/07/2012 17:04

Keep it in the fridge it makes it more bearable!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 11/07/2012 17:13

Bubbless it gets more bearable once babies here and people see how well you're doing. I had soooo much negativity with dd (at 17) but just ignored and got on with my life. I still get told I look to young to have a 7 yo (which I suppose isn't judging as such Hmm) but people who know me and my kids know how well they have done (despite my divorce from their dad) and how I must be doing a pretty decent job.

Toddler groups etc can be hard when young as a lot of people judge and don't accept you (but tbh they aren't worth having as friends) but persevere you will find things that will suit you and your dc!

clarella good luck with finding out what flavour you're having tomo :)

Bubbless · 11/07/2012 17:16

spotty- my thoughts on the issue it that God gives us a child when we are ready, and everyones life experiences are different! my family also disagree with this, but as i tell them, my beliefs and my baby!!
and i was deffinatly opposite a few weeks back, but for the past few days ive been struggling.. you might have this to come ;)

clarella- the sad side of the story is that ive actually got no friends because from aged 15-18 i was either at school (purely studying), working, or looking after my mum, so none of my peers really have a view which is why its so much sader that my family are being stupid!!

that sounds really good!! thats the sort of thing i want to be looking into doing during maternity leave.. waiting to hear about dp's possible promotion at the mo.. if he gets it we can afford for me to be a sahm!!

Clarella · 11/07/2012 17:40

Bubbless, seriously, if you can do that at age 15 you can do anything! Hopefully you'll meet lovely peeps through baby stuff :) xx

knottyhair · 11/07/2012 17:48

Bubbless, I'm at the other end of the scale (1st child at 35, not too unusual I guess, but for this "surprise" I'm 44 Blush). I'm sure you'll be amazing, you sound very mature and together, nothing like I was then not sure I can remember that far. I'm already panicking about being the oldest mum in the playground and being mistaken for a grandparent!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 11/07/2012 18:08

Awful headache right now, taken paracetamol but it hasn't touched it :( hate not being able to take ibuprofen

SpottyTeacakes · 11/07/2012 19:24

Hope you feel better soon stacey

I'm having to do the whole putting dd back into bed over and over. About thirty times in the past half hour I'm worried about lifting her so much, what do you all think?

Ooo thunder!

HoneyMum21 · 11/07/2012 19:44

Been at work today then came home and slept for 3 hours. Had to be convinced to get up and have some tea but will heading back to bed soon. Still sooooooooo tired. Thanks to all who replied this morning and last night about the anxiety - i'm starting to wonder if that's part of the reason why i'm still so tired.

Would totally recommend the doppler idea (sorry, can't remember who was contemplating it). We got one around the 13/14 week mark and it has been both lovely for us both to hear and very reassuring when i've been worried about bump. We got the Angelsounds one and could find him pretty much straight away with it (although DH is much better at locating him than me).

Bubbles - from what you've said about what you've already done in your life you will be an amazing mum.
Stacey - I've been hating not being allowed cocodamol. Although, when i've been really bad with headaches paracetamol, a load of that 4head stick you can get and a nap have been the best combo ive found. Maybe you could get 20 mins to yourself for a lie down?

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 11/07/2012 20:18

Thanks for the wishes guys

honey cocodamol gives me chest pains, found this out when given it to relieve chest pains Hmm (only realised that's the reason the pain got worse before it got better when I took it for a headache months later) but even that would be preferable right now, so much pain!

I am def gunna get a Doppler at the weekend!
