Hope everything's ok mini

Clarella · 10/07/2012 17:25

Actually a friend mentioned its easier to let it evaporate over night and I just found this -

www.ochef.com/165.htm

(hope link works?!)

Clarella · 10/07/2012 17:29

Yes hope all is ok mini?

knottyhair · 10/07/2012 17:32

Fingers crossed here as well mini x

SpottyTeacakes · 10/07/2012 17:33

Oh screw that I'm not that bothered by it Wink I'm hungry now!

Bellaboo123 · 10/07/2012 17:56

I've got a walk around my birth unit booked for September - heard its like a hotel but I'm dubious!

Also thinking of you mini - good luck

Stacks · 10/07/2012 18:00

WeeJo yes, I'm a knitter too. Though I've not done anything for the baby yet. There are some really nice patterns on Ravelry like this Giraffe for $6 and this newborn jumper pattern for free (I hope the links work, usually requires a login). There are also crochet patterns on there, and joining is free.

Also sending out good luck vibes to mini. Hopefully she's just busy with life/work.

I've considered a home birth, and would quite like one, but DH thinks it will be messy and horrible. I saw my brother born at home though, and it wasn't too messy. We're 10 minutes drive from the specialist maternity centre here, which also has a midwife led centre on site. I'm hoping to go into midwife led care, but was warned at my booking in appointment it's very busy and first-come-first-served.

I think I've felt the baby over the last couple of days, but still don't want to get too excited/carried away by it. Went to the doctor today who made me incredibly worried and heard the heartbeat again. My midwife got worried at my appointment on Thurs last week, and practically ordered me to go to the doctor with suspected UTI. The results came back negative, but the doctor was still worried and brought up my history of cancer asking if my symptoms now were similar.. he also asked about miscarriage history etc. I wish I'd never gone to see my midwife last week - all I've got is a backache :(

Clarella · 10/07/2012 18:07

Oh dear stacks hon - hopefully they're just being super careful. Do you have to go back?

ISpyPlumPie · 10/07/2012 18:50

Scan went pretty well - she said everything seems fine, but baby was being a bit stubborn so she couldn't check all of the spine. Going back again in four weeks to finish off as apparently it will be a bit easier once the baby is bigger. Also means we get a bonus look!

I'm officially in the suprise club too (although DH thinks he saw something Wink)

Stacks - hope everything is ok. Agree that they are probably just being extra cautious.

HoneyMum21 · 10/07/2012 19:38

Just seen independent midwife and told her that I'm convinced there's something wrong with bump- I don't know whether it's an actual feeling or if it's just my anxious personality assuming the worst. But she said that I should listen to my gut instinct and if I think there's a problem- even without any evidence- I may well be right. I'd kind of assumed shed just tell me to stop scaring myself but now I'm even more worried than before. Aggghhhh. Our hospital does the 20 week scan only at exactly 20 weeks so can't even try and pull it forward to put mind at rest.
She did measure my uterus and was 20 cm - that's ok at 18+4, right? Uterus was loads higher than a couple of weeks ago but now worried bump is too big.

Mini - hope all has gone well
Stacks- good thought being sent- sounds like they're being over cautious.
ISpy- how many weeks were you at your scan today?

EggsMichelle · 10/07/2012 19:52

Honey don't worrying yourself, my uterus changes positions though out the day, and looks bigger and smaller all the time. At least your little one isnt going to be feeling claustrophobic if you have a big uterus!!!

I have a poorly soldier at home with an ear infection, it must be going round!!! However my soldier isn't so little, but my DH! A positive to come from it is he has spent the day in bed out of my way, and I have remembered how good I am at making Cottage Pie!

CODwidow · 10/07/2012 20:24

honey I think it's ok to be aware that not all 20 wk scans turn out happy but I do think that your maybe worrying yourself a bit too much. Your going to end up making yourself ill and in all honesty there's nothing you can do until you've had your scan anyway so just try and enjoy being pregnant. (hard I know!)

HoneyMum21 · 10/07/2012 20:27

:) thanks- I know I'm a worrier - to put it mildly- but the midwife saying I should listen to my instincts has just freaked me! But I do know I need to calm down about all the worries!

CODwidow · 10/07/2012 20:28

Congrats ispy on seeing your baby looking forward to mine but another 2wks 6days to wait when I'll be almost 22weeks.

Whose scan is next??

ISpyPlumPie · 10/07/2012 20:43

I am 19 weeks today. They seem to do them anytime between 18 and 20 weeks here.

PurplePidjin · 10/07/2012 20:44

I'm Friday, anyone sooner?

OP posts:
CODwidow · 10/07/2012 21:05

Sorry ill be almost 21 wks at my scan, 18 wks tomorrow duh!

Bellaboo123 · 10/07/2012 21:16

I'm not until 27th I'll be 18w 3 - roll on! Can you believe we're all hitting the half way mark!!!

CODwidow · 10/07/2012 21:22

Nope only seems like yesterday we were complaining our 12 week ones were ages away! Grin

JoJoB77 · 10/07/2012 21:25

I have my 20 week scan on 3rd august, 3 more weeks to wait Sad shouldnt grumble tho, time seems to be flying this time around.

Re birthing centre. I had DD at Shrewsbury hosp under consultant care as i had GBS so had to have antibiotics during labour. So if i test positive for that at 36 wks i will be there again. If negative i may go to the more local MLU but am slightly nervous of something going wrong and having to be bluelighted to hosp. Which is an hour away..... Hmmm will see what happens at 36 weeks.

I was also thinking of Minipie today, hope all is ok.

PurplePidjin · 10/07/2012 21:39

I'll be spot on 20 at mine :)

Hospital an hour away would terrify me, JoJo Shock

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 10/07/2012 21:47

My 20 weeker is on the 27th when I will be 19+5 (I think) I can't wait to see baby again, have had a really short wait too as my 12 weeker was at 14+3 so only 5 weeks between them lol!

I have done some organising and decluttering today, hopefully I keep that energy from now on (there's also washing on and I cleaned the kitchen Shock I must be feeling a bit better!!

Bellaboo123 · 10/07/2012 21:47

Duh pregnancy brain I'll be 20w 3 on my 20 week scan...baby brain starting already??? Wink

Bellaboo123 · 10/07/2012 21:48

Scan twins stacey

JoJoB77 · 10/07/2012 21:49

Yes that is the only reason i feel hesitant Pidj but the midwives seem very keen for me to go there if i can. Prob something to do with keeping the numbers up.

Plus i want gas & air on draft, i don't want no canisters running out on me Grin
