Shit nights sleep, shit day at work, shit journey home topped off by a shit evening. Bed time I think :(

emilyeggs · 04/07/2012 22:28

Sorry for rant :(

acjfluff · 04/07/2012 22:31

Aha!!! Thanks Pidj Grin

HoneyMum21 · 04/07/2012 22:57

Placenta is posterior so I'm getting really panicky that I haven't felt movement yet. My mind is throwing things about like bump isnt developing properly and is too small so am not feeling cos of that. I'm being irrational. I'm 17+5 - do you think I need to ask someone or just try to stop panickIng?!! Sorry, I'm a worrier (if you hadn't guessed)

Clarella · 04/07/2012 23:28

Hi Newrowsees! congrats and a nice surprise!

Hope your sleep and tomorrow is less shit emiliyeggs

No Honey I don't think its irrational to worry. Im extremely surprised to feel any but I think it depends on bodyshape etc? I'm really small and was quite slim, there's not much space. (must post bump pic I am suddenly expanding quickly) I'm not feeling anything near my bladder like some. I only knew for sure a last thursday in the storm that what Id felt was movement and so was 18+3. I also know that if i was at work I'm not sure I'd notice it. If you're feeling low and tired you will be more anxious though.

looking forward to seeing all the knitware! I'm painting a rhino.

Bubbless · 04/07/2012 23:32

hiya all, ive been gone for a day and i miss 100 pages!!

1- i am currently trying to convince DP about isofix.. i am going to win and we will have it
2- does anyone have the quinny buzz? reviews / comments please..
3- do baby shops have christmas sales? if so- we are planning on leaving a lot of buying until afterwards!!

hello to all new-comers, welcome!!

ive felt really really good today, loving life!! :D sorry to hear about those still ill i will be joining you again tomorrow no doubt!

being dragged to bed by DP, so will catch up properly tomorrow!!

one last thing- has anyone set a budget on how much they want to spend on baby stuff ( for first time-mums!! ) ?

Stacks · 04/07/2012 23:39

Honey I think you said this is your first? I'm 17+4 by scan dating, and have felt no movement at all. Books and things I've read say the usual time to feel baby is from 18-22weeks, so nothing to worry about yet. This includes the nhs leaflet I was given at my booking in appointment.

I see my midwife tomorrow, and will be asking about movement. However, try not to worry! I'll let you know if she says anything useful or interesting.

MyDaydream · 04/07/2012 23:58

Bubbless there's a pretty good review section on here it's on the top bar. I'm on my phone so can't see but think its reviews then pushchairs. My friend had the buzz and I didn't like it, I always felt it was running away from me because it was so light. I don't think it gets the best reviews either. I imagine most baby websites will have product reviews too. The only problem I've found with some reviews are they're people who are still pregnant who have just unwrapped the pram from the box so give it 5* because they're so excited and haven't used it.
I'm feeling better today, back to work tomorrow and that's nothing to do with MIL coming over in the day!
(love MIL, she just scares me that she's more exited than I am and I can't deal with 12 hours of baby talk!)

Chloe55 · 05/07/2012 06:48

Hi, not fully caught up but marking my spot. mydaydream I'm your neck of the woods-when I 'see' someone on mn from my area I always think, 'ooh wonder if I know them in rl!' Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 05/07/2012 06:51

I was just sick Sad in a bowl in the kitchen Sad

EggsMichelle · 05/07/2012 07:19

Good morning ladies! Once again it is taking me forever to wake up, but I know I have croissants for breakfast so that should shift me!

In 18wks today with first, and not felt any movement. I'm not concerned though, ill feel it when it's ready!

EggsMichelle · 05/07/2012 07:20

Oh dear Spotty, go back to bed and concider this a rest day! Lots of sympathy from me!

SpottyTeacakes · 05/07/2012 07:32

Can't go to bed I'm at work! Dd did ask if we were making cakes though, not that I was sick in the mixing bowl, oh no not me!

knottyhair · 05/07/2012 07:57

Ivana, hope you continue to feel better, sounds really horrible. Pidjin, love the crochet pics, the cardigan in particular is beautiful! ISpy, hope you enjoy the wedding. NewRow, welcome! Wow, 2 under 2 should be "interesting"! Emily, hope you had a better night and have a better day today. Honey, perfectly normal to feel anxious but as others have said, 18 plus weeks is normally when you start to feel movement, so try not to worry. Spotty, you poor thing! Hope you feel better as the day goes on.
Had blood taken to check thyroid again yesterday, got to ring on Monday to see if I need to increase my meds. Have a good day everyone x

Chloe55 · 05/07/2012 08:06

Ooh spotty your 'making cakes' comment has made me feel all quesy!!! Hope it's a one off throw up

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 05/07/2012 09:15

Morning girls, I'll say it here as no one else will appriciate it (TMI) I really really really hate spewing up my own stomach acid! It is not fun and I wish it would stop!!!

Right now I've stopped whining lol! I hope everyone has a good day today, and I hope the weather holds out, I'm dog walking again just before lunch!

If ds behaves at school him and DH will be going to the rugby club open eve tonight to see if he wants to start training. Bless his cottons, 5yo and playing rugby! And me and dd can stay home and watch a film! Yay!

Then off to Worthing to the beach with dd's class for their school trip which should be fun! :) hopefully I feel well tomo or the coach journey could be interesting!

snort at are we making cakes :)

Barbeasty · 05/07/2012 09:36

Bubless, yes they have sales. But do your research first. I know last time the mothercare sale price for a couple of pushchairs just put them down to the normal John Lewis price.

Have a look for summer sales too. Don't know if the John Lewis one is still on, but they had things like baby sleeping bags in their summer sale at the weekend.

SpottyTeacakes · 05/07/2012 09:55

Stacey I'm about twenty minutes from worthing (at work) and the sun is coming out Smile

StrawberrytallCAKE · 05/07/2012 10:02

At mothercare yesterday I was told they will price match to any site (apart from eBay and amazon) which is pretty good as you can always find a pram cheaper in an online store.

I played with the stokke xplory yesterday and dh loves it...so I now have my list up to - icandy peach jogger (thank you to whoever recommended icandy), silver cross sleepover on linear (which i've found for the bargain price of £360) and the stokke xplory. I know lots of people, including my sister, think they look ridiculous but the handle is so high and it would mean no bending down to give the baby food, check the baby, pick her up...I am 5"11 and dh it 6"4 and gets a bad back. Any views?

I'm sorry you were sick spotty bloody hate being sick so feeling your pain.

We have no breakfast in and I'm in bed so trying to get the energy up to have a shower and drag myself to starbucks.

Queenofsiburbia · 05/07/2012 10:05

Hello everyone; new posters and longtermers!

I'm so sorry to hear people are still upchucking! Goddamn it I'm cross with maternity god (dess? No, Surely must be a man!!) on your behalf. Write a strongly worded letter of complaint & start a petition. Or do what the farmers did after the Lloyds scandal.. and send a full cake bowl to baby procurement authorities. Seriously, I really hope you guys feel lots better very soon.

I've been under radar as gone home to mothers for tlc and a break. Lying in bed right now feeling much happier than last week although don't want to go home to RL, piles of ironing etc etc

I have a wriggly one in my tum! Think I have a spaniel baby to go with spaniel puppy (hopefully not such big ears tho') but doc said lots of first timers don't feel anything until 20 weeks (I'm 18+2) so there's no need to panic.

Everyone have a good day, I finally bought my mat jeans on line this morning. Shopping makes me feel Smile

Queenofsiburbia · 05/07/2012 10:13

I should clarify...
Clothes shopping makes me feel Smile

Technical baby accessories shopping makes me feel Shock & Confused & [hide head in sand emoticon]

HoneyMum21 · 05/07/2012 10:41

Thanks all for the reassurance. I apologise now for my tendency to worry (I'm sure you will be very sick of me by the end of this!)

spotty sorry about you cake disaster... ;)

Off to dr for blood tests this morning. Boo. Then work this afternoon and tomorrow. Boo. But then scan to find out what flavour bump is. Yay.

As far as prams go, we've ordered the ICandy strawberry ( thanks to my lovely mum footing most of the bill) but apparently there's been supply issues so we have to wait till sept to see if we will actually be able to get it. Fingers crossed as we played with it in John Lewis and love it, it's so comfy to push and is supposed to be great for public transport.

Is anyone else finding that they are losing words/thoughts in the middle of conversations?!!

PurplePidjin · 05/07/2012 11:01

I've got washing on the line 75 miles West of you, Spotty and Stacey! Think we need a Portsmouth meet sometime :o

Queenie, I'm 18+6 and getting beaten up daily! Love clothes shopping with my Mum, we went yesterday because nothing fits and she promised me some jeans as a present. Budget of £30 ish. Scout Gap for a giggle, find a girgeous 100% cotton jumper in my best colour (raspberry pink) for a tenner from £33, which she buys me because we can't just leave it there. Then to Next, get to the till and my £28 jeans ring up at £14 Shock so back to H&M for a t-shirt she thought would suit me. Total spend £30 on three items of clothing! Result!!

I'm looking at the Hauck Viper Trio. Nice big wheels (i'm semi rural and plan to walk a lot, plus live in a flat so can bump pram+shopping upstairs while carrying baby), lightweight and cheap at £250 for the whole lot in Boots :o

Ooh, it's nice to have a bit of weather that's not rainy - obviously now I have written this the heavens are going to open as soon as I step outside!

Finished the twisty scarf I did for my friend. Going to give it to her this weekend when I see her. Have uploaded a pic (I think!) on my profile. Am working on the blanket for my friend that is due next month...it's a basket weave one so am finding it tricky with my can't-concentrate-for-longer-than-ten-seconds pregnancy brain as I have to switch stitch every 5 stitches. It is a lovely pattern though so will persevere!

Will upload a bump pic later on today - it will be fun to see how everyone compares! I think my bump is more bump and less chicken and pancetta pizza shaped but I still reckon a fair proportion of it is pizza...and pasta...and chocolate... Who else has bump pics up?

PurplePidjin · 05/07/2012 11:18

That's gorgeous, Jo! Wish I could knit, that looks handy for winter walks with buggy. I've never seen a crochet pattern I like
