Looking forward to hearing about people's scans today and welcome to everyone who's just joined.

Sort of a random question and maybe one for the style section rather than here but I bet one of you ladies will be able to help me! So as the boobage gets bigger, am in desperate need of a comfy and well-fitting bra. I really don't care what it looks like. I've actually never found a bra that fits well and is comfy - they usually ride up at the back and when I've been measured in shops I get totally different sizes depending on which shop I go to. So clueless about size but clueless about which bra might be comfy too - I don't want to have sore bits under my arms or have straps that dig in.

Essay over! Anyone any ideas? Xx

For jeans my favourites are from H&M Mama but not all H&M stores stock their maternity range which is a bit annoying but I've dug my old ones out already and are great - don't fall down despite only being 11 weeks and they fit when i was 41+ weeks last time.

Birdies - for bras I've got a pack of 2 from M&S which are actually maternity bras and they're really comfy but are sized e.g. 34c not s/m/l so won't grow with me. The best think i've found is sports crop tops they keep you together and grow with your chest.

Thanks lula am thinking maybe I'll need to go for sports bras. Any idea which are a good make for those?

H&M jeans sound good. I also just stumbled across a website called yummymummies and bought a few things - yet to try them but they looked nice.

Really don't worry about the anti-d jabs, I didn't feel a thing and I had 3 or 4 in the end last time (but I really worried beforehand, what a waste of time worrying was for something so minor!)

Birdies if your bras ride up at the back, the band is too big. Get yourself to somewhere like bravissimo where they actually fit you rather than measure. M&S are shite for measuring.

Be warned - once you're properly fitted, your bra will NOT feel comfortable, but as it moulds to you and you break it in, it will. It will feel a LOT tighter than you're used to.

Thanks Bunty. Bugger I hate tight bands but I guess that makes sense. Do you know of anywhere else that are good at measuring? (no bravissimos near me sadly :() I probably would have gone back to m&s....for the millionth time! And walked out with a dodgy-fitting bra as usual.

I agree, don't get M&S to measure. John Lewis are good.

I get my bras from Rigby and Peller. Expensive but there is nothing like a well accommodated chest! I went through the first six months of my last pregnancy being uncomfortable and then gave up and paid the money. There are fantastic in every way!

Debenhams are good for measuring round here. They got me spot on.

Thanks for the bra suggestions - I knew you ladies would know! I'm gonna start having a browse at the places you've suggested. I just looked on a size guide on Debenhams website for sizing though & now I'm a bit confused - got the tape measure out and I'm 33-34 under boobs, and 39 overboobs (not sag-adjusted!). Debbenhams guide said I was a 38B. I'm wearing 38D usually. There's no way I'm a B these days - each boob alone must weigh a tonne

Bra indeas welcome, mine are about to eclipse the sun as was a 38G pre-pregnancy and they are just getting bigger sigh.

Serpahine jeans are supposed to be amazing and are a celeb favourite. They have some in the sale so picked a pair up for £16 even though I don't need 'em yet so maybe check them out too.

I LOVE R&P bras, they are just awesome. I second that they are expensive but well worth the money.

I'd go in person birdies if you can. When I was sized in John Lewis she only measured my back size and then did the rest by eye.

Birdies I would start with a 34e on that measurement. You don't need to do the old underbust size + 4 inches anymore. If you're going by 38in bras they will ride up and give you no support because they are too loose.

33-34 = 34inch band
39 is plus 34+5 so thats an e cup. (34=a cup, 35=b, 36=c, 37=d, 38=dd, 39=e cup for you)

I fit a 30f/ff and I am 29in under and 37 over. Fits perfectly.

Birdies I'd second what Bunty and everyone else said about bra sizes. Marks and Spencers once told me I was a 36C and i spent years wearing that size and being uncomfortable before being correctly measured (at bravissimo) as a 32E. Sorry but you need to get used to the band being tight as that's what gives your boobs the support they need - otherwise the weight pulls on the shoulder straps causing them to dig in. Not to mention your boobs will look saggy .

I have just had a bowl of cereal for tea, and just remembered how sick milk makes me feel. I was like it last time too, but also craved Angel delight again milk based ate loads and then moaned to dh all night how sick I was, I didn't get any sympathy.

My scan date came through - can't believe how quickly - so I've added it to the list. 2 July. I'll only be 10.5 weeks at that point - which I thought was a bit early for a scan but apparently not. They offered me the Wednesday before that when I would have been 9.6 but I couldn't do that date. Seems very early.
