Pascha great news about your scan.

I bought DP Maternity Jeans last time and they were shite, I was constantly hoiking them up and they start to come open at the seem of the pocket cos I kept pulling them up by the belt loops!!! I will def be trying the over the bump band ones this time round.

Lulabel as far as I am aware us RHD Neg types require the injection during every pregnancy. The more pregnancies you have apparently the more antibodies build up in your system so the injections seem pretty crucial.

Hi ladies! Would love to join you. This is my first PG and a surprise, we didn't think I was ovulating and was about to start on Clomid! Had a 2nd early scan today (as I was bleeding three weeks ago) but all seems fine, they've put me at 8ws+5 so think I'm due 26th Jan. eck!
Has anyone told work yet? Am worried they will Suss before the 12wk scan.

So Next, New Look, someone elsewhere mentioned MamasandPapa's jeans. They're all on the list. DP are decidely not. Last time I borrowed from a friend and they were terrible so I didn't bother - just wore skirts the whole time.

Bunty was exactly the same, nervous as he'll til she mentioned the heartbeat then I relaxed completely. What time is your appt?

Scan next Tuesday morning, nervous but excited! Then, because who likes to keep things simple, we're moving out of our flat that afternoon! Can't move into our new house until mid august, so summer with the in-laws beckons :-s At least mil will look after me!

Agree that DP materinity jeans are useless - I bought a pair last time and they were soon far too tight to hold a bump! Not fit for purpose. However, they came in handy after I had DD - I probably wore them for a month or two until I was back into my normal jeans.

Bunny I told my boss when I thought I was miscarrying, mostly because I kept having to go to hospital appointments and she was getting worried. I burst into tears in her office . She was lovely about it, and has agreed not to inform HR I am pregnant until I am ready.

I've told my employers that I'm pregnant. Only done it this early really because I'm a support worker do my job involves a lot of time spent in people's homes, often with heavy smokers so I thought the sooner the better.

Thanks mrsbugsy I'm not sure what to do about work yet, although as I practically went in skipping after my scan today I may need to work on my poker face!

I'm planning to tell work after my scan if all is well. I'll take in a load of cakes and tell them if i have to get fat, i'm taking everyone else down with me

bunty i feel exactly the same as you about the scan, i don't know how common mmcs are but it is by far my biggest worry. I keep telling myself that no matter what i'll know one way or the other on Thursday.

Right,off to bed...I fear THE DREAD may keep me awake all night!! My last pregnancy ended in a mmc,but they are a lot rarer than a 'normal' mc,so fingers crossed!!eeek!

from what others have been saying I've been pretty lucky with how things are arranged here. I had a call from the Midwife within a week of seeing my GP and have my booking in next Monday. I also got my scan date soon after I spoke with the Midwife.

I was a bit naughty yesterday and bought my first bit of baby clothes, even though it's all so early. In my defence I had been looking to buy a present for a friend who had her baby a couple of weeks ago and I'm visiting tomorrow. I bought this babygro for her but then decided I liked it to much and I wanted to keep it for our little bean. DP agreed so I'm going to have to go on another present buying trip today.

Finally had my booking in appointment with the midwife which was ok full scan requested I'm 10+4 by her calculations but we wait to see what the scan says,

Other then that I was shocked to find out you have to pay if you want a separate room n ensuite for the birth oh n there's no guarantee that you won't be asked to move out of it DH is outraged

She did ask about how we wanted the birth i said water or CS n they are fine with that

Does anyone know what consultant led actually means ?

Thanks ladies, I have mine at 2.40...leaving school at 1 so me and the hubby can take a walk into town, I can drink gallons of water etc!!....meant to be planning schemes of work for next term, but my brain is all mushy (im sure I will look at these lessons come September and they wont make any sense at all lol!!)

boutique did you not get an Emmas diary book with your maternity folder??? thought they gave them out nationally, its fab and it explains all them pointers (although i can't actually remember what it means and Ive read it so go figure!!) i really want a water birth if possible, but theres only 2 birthing pools at my local hospital so will be first come first served I guess!!xx

What do you teach Alchick? I work in a school too but have been so ill that I'm currently sitting in a deckchair in the garden. I don't think you need to have a full bladder for the scan anymore. When I went for mine with dd3 the sonographer said it wasn't necessary. I still don't have the date for my scan, I might ring up and ask if I haven't heard by Friday.

Oh bless you spring Ive had to be sent home a few times when the sickness just hasn't stopped, but normally Im able to fit a quick puke inbetween classes, nice!!And its actually waring off a little now, it tends to only come on every few days. I teach PSHE so at the moment were doing sex ed! very practical i guess lol :)
having the long holidays as a teacher has been amazing though....time to relax and put our feet up....so are you planning on working up till the xmas break? (thats if ur sickness goes away!!) hope your able to relax and dont feel to crappy x

Hi bunny and brugsmania - I have added brugsmania to the list. Bunny my work clocked as soon as I stopped smoking and drinking! TBH I am glad they did as I usually work long hours but just can't cope with the exhuastion at the moment so taking it a bit easier.

theboutique thanks for the info on the booking in scan. I have mine next week and am a little nervous. Did they listen for a heartbeat?

I think the same applies at the hospital we plan to give birth at too. Still on the positive side maybe it'll be nice to have company on the ward (desperately trying to find a silver lining)!

Is anyone telling people (other than close family) before the 12 week scan? It's just that I'm going to a big family wedding the week before and am fairly sure people will guess as I already have a bump! 2 of my sisters are also pregnant so am hoping that will divert attention.

Have been looking at maternity clothes too, I think I will get a pair of seraphine jeans too, but will have to hem them up. None of my work trousers fit any more, am wearing them undone.

Does anyone have any pregnancy DVDs they recommend? Am feeling quite flabby after my holiday and don't want to pile on too much weight.

I'm a deputy head and don't teach but my job is very demanding. I feel sick all of the time, sometimes so much so that I just need to lie down. Since I have been at home I realised how exhausted I was too. I have no energy and now couldn't imagine going to work. I am hoping I will pick up soon having had a lot of rest. I am planning on starting maternity leave on the first day back in January so that the Christmas holidays are not part of my maternity leave.

Sixpence I'm in the same boat, I'm going to a family christening (DP's) the day before my scan. It would be lovely to announce it there, but we've decided not to just in case things don't go well. I think we will tell his close family beforehand but ask them to keep it quiet.

It will be hard though as I'll be over 12 weeks and will probably have a bump due to my lack of stomach muscles.

I'm still doing my regular yoga video, I thought you didn't need to switch to pregnancy yoga till the 2nd trimester. I'd be interested to hear recommendations too.

theboutiquemummy Did they say you would receive consultant led care???

I am receiving consultant led care and this is down to my history mainly but I'm also on the cusp because of my BMI so they always like to keep an eye on that too, But I only put 8lb's on during my last pregnancy so I'm hoping i don't put much weight on this time too.

It can even be down to your age.............. but your not that old, I just checked LOL!!

Did they mention any of these things when you were booked in....

I was released back into community midwife led care about half way through with the odd consultant appointment every now and then.
