I've had 3 quarterpounder meals with strawberry milkshake over the last 2 weeks. 1 in 11 weeks is heroic. I also had 2 crisp sandwiches for lunch today. Last time the carb cravings went at about 15 weeks so I'm hoping its the same again and in the meantime not worrying too much.

Birdies · 21/06/2012 14:23

Well ladies, a bra update! I know, not as exciting as scan updates but for those who were helping me yesterday with bra stuff, I have just been and come back with two 34Es! There's now not a saggy bit of boobage in sight!!

Re junk food, all I want to eats is crisps, bread and butter and ice cream (and anything else unhealthy. I even had a dream about KFC the other night!). I feel really bad eating anything unhealthy but I can't seem to help myself. Yesterday it was mini cheddars, chocolate and ice cream. And I keep forgetting to drink enough water but I know that's really important. At the end of each day I say I'm going to be healthier but it doesn't last long! I try to get in enough fruit and veg though to compensate a bit.

PricklyPickle · 21/06/2012 14:35

I'm back from the scan. Everything was fab. We got to look at our little one for ages, it was waving for a lot of the time. My DP just sat and grinned like a loon throughout the whole thing. It was really lovely and everything is just fine. Its just surreal, this is our first baby and and I still don't think its sunk in yet.

I'll be keeping an eye out for your update Bunty Good luck!

To add my contribution to the full or empty bladder debate, my letter said drink a pint of water an hour before. I did this and she said this was fine, but I did want to pee when she was digging the probe into my tummy!

Great news pickle! You must be so relieved. Really good that they allowed you lots of time as well, sometimes I find they rush a bit.

SpringFlowers · 21/06/2012 15:25

That's fab Pickle, congratulations! I had been waiting to hear your news I called the hospital today to ask about my scan date and as a result my paperwork was taken out of the middle of the pile and put on the top. So I should have a date soon. My hospital like to scan at 13 weeks so it will be about three weeks away.

tinyeyes123 · 21/06/2012 15:35

Good news pickle. How long is a scan likely to take? Obviously presuming it's all ok.

SquealyB · 21/06/2012 16:03

My 5 a day and low carb healthy diet has also gone out the window (I even had a mini pie for lunch :( how gross am I !).

pickle that is great. You must be so excited.

birdes nicely done on the bra's. I think I am going to need to go and get re-measured too.

spring glad your doctor was understanding about your nausea. I am slightly odd insofar as I have felt pretty naseous at times but no puking. My nausae has eased up a bit, so I am wondering if I have my dates wrong, am currently 8 +6 so it seems a little early for it to disappear. Hope everything is still ok!

Pascha · 21/06/2012 16:33

Yay Pickles for your wavey baby, and yay birdie for getting your boobs properly encased.

Squealy Mine is mostly nausea, i've only been properly sick a couple of times. It can come and go and some days are far better than others. I'm sure you'll be feeling nicely green again in a day or so.

Pascha · 21/06/2012 16:35

tiny my scan took about 20 minutes or so, with a wee break in the middle.

DiscoDomina · 21/06/2012 16:48

Hello Ladies - today is the first time i've felt brave enough to post but NewRowSees has inspired , as i also feel i will jinx things (paranoid to the max).

I've been lurking since i got my BFP 4 weeks ago so i've been reading all the goings on (feel like a bit of a stalker) I'm 8 weeks today and have got another 2 weeks before my booking in appointment and yes time really is standing still!

It's my first time and i feel like a bit of a fraud as i've had no sickness and no nausea to speak of, (doesn't help with the paranoia) but i have read that it doesn't affect 25 % of women - so i should just count myself lucky ?Confused But my puppies are humungus and can now fit in some of my old G cup bras from an E a few weeks a go! And have gained 9 pounds (nothing to do with a week long birthday/ jubilee binge) Thank God can do Slimming World while PG Smile

Phew - sorry for the verbal diarrhoea (4 weeks of wanting to post in one big one!)Blush

AprilMeadow · 21/06/2012 16:53

Just popping in to say good luck to all those of you with scans coming up. Such an exciting time seeing the life you have created on the screen.

Sorry to see that a few more lovely ladies have had to leave the thread.

Its been just over two weeks since i departed and on the whole things are ok. Having to have further tests as the pg test is still showing a +ve, so more blood tests to check hCg levels. We made the decision that after 4 babies that dh should go and have the snip. So all being well that should be some time in July.

I will keep popping in to see your exciting news

Love April x

pmgkt · 21/06/2012 19:19

Well tomorrow is d day. My scan is at 9 40. Even though we had a private scan at 9 weeks I still feel nervous. Bet I don't sleep well tonight plus I am also waking at 5 every morning.

BuntyCollocks · 21/06/2012 19:33

All the best to you, april, thanks for your lovely message and for
Keeping up with us all.

Scan was fantastic! Baby was very wriggly, and is measuring at 12+6 :o which changes my edd to 28/12, but think I shall stay here :)

Nt measurement was also low at 1.7mm, so that was a relief, and saw a little nose bone too. All in all v happy and relieved - roll on the gender scan!

Birdies · 21/06/2012 19:41

Pascha - "boobs properly encased" lol!

April that's so nice of you to come back and see us. I'm glad that things are going ok for you. Look forward to you dropping in again soon!

Bunty yay that's great news! Yes stay with us, you belong here now :o

Have a good evening everyone x

Birdies · 21/06/2012 19:42

And welcome to disco!

Birdies · 21/06/2012 19:43

PS Squealy a mini pie is quite disciplined of you! I'm on giant portions of everything!!

SquealyB · 21/06/2012 19:50

Great news bunty and good luck tomorrow pgmkt

Glad you are sticking around bunty.

Birdies lol it was accompanied by mash too (it looked lonely all on its own Wink).

Hello newbies and welcome!!

Brugmansia · 21/06/2012 19:52

Hello disco, other than one day a few weeks ago when I felt awful I've hardly had any nausea either. Some slight queasiness from time to time, but nothing really. It was one off the things that made me worry when I was bleeding, but my boobs have continued to be agony which is a bit reassuring.

BuntyCollocks · 21/06/2012 20:10

Good luck tomorrow pmgkt and welcome disco!

birdie how much better do you feel firmly supported? ;)

godzookey · 21/06/2012 20:19

hi All,
Am getting soo impatient re scan - so i've got a midwives appt on Sunday, can I ask presumably just ask her then - i've got the day off on the 6th July so would be handy to have then, but not sure if you can be that specific with the NHS?
I still feel so clueles, what kind of stuff does the midwife chat to you about in the first meeting?

Best of luck tomorrow pgmkt with the scan tomorrow?
p.s. whats a nuchal fold - could someone enlighten me pls? :)

allchik · 21/06/2012 20:20

Yeeey!pickle and bunty thats ace!:) i was so giddy at work today, was showing EVERYONE my pic, even the school caretaker,my cheekbones were aching from all the grinning!haha!
Hi disco its frickin scary isnt it!?I couldnt hardly talk bout bein pregnant without freaking out (had a mmc in feb) really hope the time isnt dragging,if it is and u can afford it I would totally recomend paying for a private scan,at 8wks there will b a clear heartbeat,I had 1 at 7wks n it really helped :)

godzookey · 21/06/2012 20:23

Meant to add, Birdies - i totally hear you re the junk food thing, i don't want anything healthy at all. Just come back from hols where i survived on nutella crepes for breakfast and spag bol for lunch/dinner.

I feel guilty for not getting even 1 a day let alone 5 a day but tell myself to give into my cravings if that's what my body wants!

allchik · 21/06/2012 20:25

zookey the nuchal fold is when they measure the spinal area near t neck to see how big t gap is between skin and bone (or sumit like that!) were not having downs test, but doc at my scan said all looks good (thin space not thick) think presence of a nasal bone is also a good sign x

DiscoDomina · 21/06/2012 20:45

A midwife apt on a Sunday- that's good! The community midwives only do 1 day a week at my surgery.

Allchick i hope the caretaker liked your scan pic lol Smile

I've been amazed at how different booking in and getting scan dates coming through has been for everyone! And yes i'm contemplating a private scan - just got to try and fit it in with work and having step kids over (by that time another week has passed and then maybe i should just wait a few more weeks till proper scan Confused????

Oh junk food i love you...........

StormBird · 21/06/2012 20:55

Pickle & Bunty I'm so pleased your scans went well Smile

Check this out...........I get home from work to 2 letters from the hospital. 1 is for an appointment with the Obstetrician on the 3rd July and the other is for an app in............wait for it.........SEPTEMBER!!! They don't hang about in these parts!!!
