Birdies One of the first questions my midwife asked at my booking in was 'do you think you have felt the baby move yet?' She said the likelyhood is that if it is your 2nd and so on....you can start to feel it anything from 8 weeks. She said your more intune with what to expect. Like you, sometimes I think I can and then I'm more convinced it was wind. Would be nice to know for definite tho!

Hi! I'm new around here... 7+6 with no. 1 - due somewhere around 24th jan! No scan booked yet - haven't heard from midwife re booking app either... I'm so impatient!!!!!

Marking my place... nothing much to report. Had doctor appointment last tues and am still waiting for midwife to contact and arrange booking in. Just rang my surgery to check my details had actually been passed on and they seemed amazed that I would expect a response within a week

Am 10 weeks on friday, it's going quite fast!

chutes you are lucky that time seems to be going quickly, I feel like I am stuck in some weird time warp and that time has completely slowed down. It sucks!

I got a letter from y bloods today... says im A rhD negative whatever that means. scan a week today

lora I'm AB negative. Means you have one or two injections of anti-d at 28 and 32 weeks. And important if you bleed after 12 weeks to have one too (in case baby is rhesus positive and your blood rejects babies if they mix). It's not really a big deal and injections didn't hurt really.

Cartoon - I'm really sorry that you are having such a difficult time. I hope your situation is resolved soon. When I was ttc after mc I was on this thread (it had a much cooler name back then!). I don't know about feeling babies move at 8 weeks...with dd3 I didn't feel anyrhing before 19 weeks and had no regular movements until 22/23 weeks. I have never felt anything that early.

At my booking in appointment my midwife told me that as I'm having dc #4 I'll have to wear surgical stockings after the birth for a few weeks and have daily injections in my legs to prevent clotting. Simply because this is my 4th baby. Really???

spring that sounds bizarre, I can't see why the number of babies would make a difference.

Lora I'm also RHD Neg, you've nothing to worry about it just means you are missing a certain protein in your blood. Like Birdie said, you'll just have a few extra injections and one after the birth depending on what blood type your baby is.

Birdie - apparently your system become sluggish and clotting is a real issue. I've never heard of it before though so will seek further advice. She said that she'll show me how to inject myself.

Hi all, another newbie here. Pregnant with my first, due January 14th. Had a scan on the 11th, as the doctor thought I was further gone than I am, and have my 12 week scan on the 2nd of July.

Hello ladies, hoping that scans are going well and that those that have got a while to wait are feeling ok!
Have got my scan tomorrow afternoon....will be 11.2....I'm sooooo nervous and will probably be lying on the bed in floods of tears untill (I hope!!!) I see the bubba and hear the heart beat.
Its weird, ive been hurrying the days along, so wanting my scan, but now its almost here I want to bury my head in the sand and not think about it....bit scared it will all get taken away :( Sorry!! i don't mean to be all doom and gloom and worry!!
On a more funny note, did a classic puke at school today! lol! Had to pretty much elbow sprint my way past a throng of teenagers and dive into the toilet at which point I threw up in front of 4 members of staff....CLASSY!:)

Hey all, have only just found a moment to check in. Peace and quiet now as I'm feeding DS before bed and typing one-handed on the phone.

Scan went very well. Just one baby (thank god) and everything present and correct. Nuchal fold is 1.4mm so dead normal. I had to go for a wee mid scan because my bladder was too full, oops. I had about a pint and a quarter which is obviously too much for me and the sonographer coulnt get proper measurements til I had a full wee

Anyway, she dated me at 12+2 which makes me due 30/12/12 so now I'm wondering if I have to abandon you for the Dec 2012 lot.

Cartoon sorry to hear your scan wasn't better news. I hope you get some answers soon.

I bet I am too. I am deffo going to stay here, I feel like you're all my friends. Will say hello over there too of course. Going by last pregnancy this baby will arrive on 08/01/13 anyway.

No fat jeans yet, just hairbands holding the button done up. I am on the hunt for the perfect maternity jeans now though so if any of you have a recommendation I would be really pleased to hear it. So many mat jeans sag and need constant hitching over the course of the day. Where are the good ones?

On the jeans front apparently Next do good maternity jeans (with big bump band so minimal chance of flashing a builders) and New Look too so maybe worth checking those out.

I second next's with the overbump band - they are v comfy. I have invested in 2 pairs of seraphine ones from the sale - not fat pregnant enough to wear them without them falling down yet, but I've heard they're fab.

I am shitting myself for my scan on Thursday. So scared of mmc :(

Great news pascha what a relief! Be sure to stay here though in January thread! I'll most likely give birth in December as twins usually come at 37 weeks apparently so I'll need a December buddy!
Allchik good luck for tomorrow try not to worry the likelihood is that everything will be fine.
The anti d injection was given to me last time at 28 weeks and post birth. Just to be truthful it's not a very nice injection - comes straight out the freezer but after birth you won't even notice it ha! Does anyone know if I need to have it again second pregnancy?
