Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
applepieinthesky · 15/06/2012 22:42

Mine came from ebay as well evil. It's £375 in Mama's and Papa's but I only paid £140 including delivery because it's an ex display one. It got delivered on wednesday and it is immaculate, I'm so pleased with it.

rowingdowntheriver · 15/06/2012 22:46

littlelolly just saw your post about Muslins - my tip would be to get large ones as you can use them for anything such as blankets, boob covers when feeding, sun shades. There is a brand called anaise anaise (I think) that does really big ones but it is quite expensive. You can get similar cheaper ones from amazon.

John Lewis does really soft Muslins.

DesperateHousewife21 · 16/06/2012 07:55

I am a big fan of muslins, I still use then for ds and he's nearly two. They're great for wiping noses and food down the chin!

Dh and I will go to babies r us/ mothercare and have a good look at double buggies. There are two I like but one is 170 and the other is about 220 and they're almost identical except colour but we'll have to have a good look at them. I'll be getting one where the baby lies flat at the back and ds sits upright in front, I'll need it for about a year so will get good use out of it.

mrswee · 16/06/2012 08:05

Agh. Woken up with really sore backache and stomach. Like a cramp that doesn't come and go. Spoke to triage and they said take paracetomol and if it's not gone in an hour call back. Well it didn't go so they've told me to go up there. Sad
Trying to be positive. Anyone else who's said they had spotting recently also have cramping?
Not sure if I can feel movement or not. I have felt some but I am also windy!
Oh well we will soon see.

NervousAt20 · 16/06/2012 08:18

Good luck mrswee im sure things will be fine but best to be checked! Fingers crosse for you x

Thechick · 16/06/2012 08:57

mrswee good luck for today. Like nervous said, I'm sure it'll be fine. I haven't congratulated you on your girl nervous. Do you all think that going forward we are going to get a block of girls to even things out.

I'm another one who is so uncomfortable sleeping. I have been for a while. I went to ikea about 6 weeks ago to get extra pillows/cushions. Bought a really good firm cushion I put behind my back but I still can't sleep on my left, I find it so uncomfortable. So I kind of sleep a bit upright on my back even though back sleeping isn't recommended when we get to heavy.

YellowWellies · 16/06/2012 09:07

Good luck mrswee. Am sure all will be ok hon and getting checked out is the best thing to do. I'd still be going nuts though. My fingers and toes are crossed for you. Kinda puts my worries into perspective (fell asleep without letting the cat in and now he seems to have disappeared somewhere into the Orkney rural wilderness :( )

SwissArmyWife · 16/06/2012 09:13

Morning all, this thread doesn't half move quickly!

I have been moping around because I have awful toothache caused by a bloody wisdom tooth, I can't even chew food at the moment, so I had yoghurt for breakfast. Depressing!
Not to mention the hip pain, heart burn and generally feeling tired a lot. I've also been feeling very sicky the last couple of days so feeling pretty sorry for myself!

The sleeping thing is also quite uncomfortable for me, because of my hips playing up. The only position that relieves it is lying on my back but it makes me dizzy after a couple of minutes. DP has been replaced with a pillow.

mrswee Good luck for today, I really hope you and baby are fine :)

mrswee · 16/06/2012 09:32

Thanks everyone . Just waiting at triage now. I wouldn't have even called them had I not had cramping.. But it's freaked me out. I just expected to be better today.
yellowellies is the weather as bad as everywhere else? The cat has probably found somewhere to shelter for the night. They are very cunning.. Well mine are a bit stupid but cunning with it! I bet you cat returns hungry and surprisingly dry very soon!

horseylady · 16/06/2012 09:35

Hope all ok mrs wee. Were off to London today :)

Thechick · 16/06/2012 09:55

I live in London. What are you doing in London today?

YellowWellies · 16/06/2012 10:05

Nope we've had a sunny week whilst it appears that the south of England has been looking after our normally shit weather for us.... am just worried as there are lots of nesting seabirds (great skuas - nasty buggers) in the fields around us at the moment and they dive bomb anything that goes near :( anyway good luck mrswee and thanks for your lovely words xxx

Brockle · 16/06/2012 10:11

I hope you are ok mrswee. I had bleeding at 16 weeks with DS1 and all was fine but it does put the fear of god into you.

I may be the only person here who kind of dreads naming babies. Husband is muslim and the kids are muslim too so we choose muslim names. Prob is that I am hard to please. I need a name that is easy to pronouce here and that I like. DH has always wanted prophet names for boys and we picked two nice ones for the DS's but struggling with a potential DS3. Girls are easier by far but I think fate will produce a gorgeous DS3 so name negotiations will ensue!

Thought the hip pain was easing or that I was managing it better but going downstairs yesterday was agony and DH ended up driving me to work so that I didn't struggle with the train. Ugh!

what is everyone doing today?

TheDetective · 16/06/2012 10:20

Hope you are now being seen MrsWee. Sounds like all should be fine. I had similar the other day, but it just stopped of its own accord. Brown loss is much better than fresh red :)

Another one with trouble sleeping. My body clock is completely screwed. It really is. I need 4 hours of sleep, 4 hours of wake, 4 hours of sleep... etc. I'm struggling. I can sleep, but I wake then get tired really quickly in the day, so end up falling back asleep, then not sleeping long enough at night. A vicious circle. It may be trying to prepare me for this baby. I suspect... Hmm

I have 4 pillows, and a very comfy mattress! DP is down to 2 pillows Grin

Oh, and can I have a little celebration! 20 weeks today. YIPPEEEEE!! It is all going so very quickly!

DesperateHousewife21 · 16/06/2012 10:38

Hope things are ok mrswee

We've just been to sainsburys to do our food shop for the week and it came to £100! I promised dh I wouldn't set foot in a supermarket all week.

Thechick · 16/06/2012 10:51

I'm going to check out an nct nearly new sale. I haven't been to one before. We aren't going to buy anything just yet, just want to see what it's like.

mrswee · 16/06/2012 10:53

I'm waiting at triage to see a doctor now I've already seen a midwife who found the heartbeat and a good kick to the Doppler. Very happy, first time we've heard it! Sounded not as fast as my DD.. Wondering if it's a boy then hmm.
Feeling a lot less worried now of course.
I guess the doctor will check about the bleeding.
Thanks for all your good wishes. I'll let you know what happens.
Think we spend about £20 keeping dd happy already.., new pens, magazines food ect!

YellowWellies · 16/06/2012 10:59

Wahey great news on the heartbeat and the doppler kick! That's cheered me up whilst I mope about our mog

Passmethecrisps · 16/06/2012 11:19

Hooray for mrswee. That must have been a massive relief.

Have you been out with the Go Cat yellowwellies? When I was growing up in the country we would shake the box and the cat would come running from wherever she had holed up. She would occassionally go missing for weeks at a time. Once she came back massive. My dad said she had plonked herself outside a rabbit warren an picked off the wee ones as they came out. Poor bunnies!

mrswee · 16/06/2012 11:20

yellow if your mog is anything like mine it will be away sulking at you! Hope it returns soon!

ShellyBobbs · 16/06/2012 12:23

Bluetinkerbell Erin is my youngest daughters name, never has a child suited her name as much as she does, probably because it's all you hear when she is about. She has absolutely NO fear of anything and so if you look up, you'll see Erin who will have managed to have found something to climb!

MissMummy My bump is called Angus, joking I said to hubby that now it's stuck we'll have to have it as a middle name, now I think we will actually will. ^Erin doesn't like it and shed a few tear the other day because she said we can't call it a 'silly name', bless, you don't hear of many Angus's.

I just feel massively pregnant now, my skin is already really stretched at the top of my abdomen and my HUGE uniform that I was embarrassed to wear 2 weeks ago has only got a little bit of room, I'd say about an inch before I go skulking into the office for an upgrade :( Even worse, one of my maternity tops won't fit my massive boobs in now, blimey I still have another 20ish weeks to go yet. I am still getting the 'are you positive there wasn't 2 in there' from family but no, I made her check 3 times :)

Had to crouch down at work today, to get up I had to get on my hands and knees and climb up a stool. It's not good Shock

ShellyBobbs · 16/06/2012 12:23

MrsWee All sounds good, probably a little infection of some kind, I had this with my first.

YellowWellies · 16/06/2012 13:10

No sign of the cat yet, but our feral barn cat neighbour seems to have left us a teeny kitten.... oh dear

ShellyBobbs · 16/06/2012 13:29

Bless, is it old enough to be apart from it's mum? Hope yours turns up soon.

Just bought a maternity belt off ebay, so will let you all know if it does much. Was in Shock as to having to buy the large size but it went on how round you were, I got a tape measure and was extremely shocked to find that I was exactly a meter from my belly button round Shock

StuntNun · 16/06/2012 13:38

Great news MrsWee I hope you get the all clear soon.

Brockle what Muslim names have you picked out? My granddad was Sheikh but everyone called him Joe which I don't know how you get from Sheikh. What about Imran or Rahman or Nizam?

I'm laid up in bed for two days after my steroid injections yesterday so I'm hoping this will sort out my bad back. Otherwise I don't think I'll be able to keep working full time with the level of pain that I've been having so 8 don't know what I would do then.
