Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
applepieinthesky · 24/06/2012 18:43

mmmm pâté.. now that's something I miss. Roll on November!

SwissArmyWife · 24/06/2012 19:21

I don't miss alcohol, I stopped drinking when I got pregnant with DD and haven't since. Obviously the occasional beer or whatever (and the annual pint of guinness on my birthday, st paddy's day!) but I have never had more than one drink at a time, and haven't been drunk since before I was pregnant with DD!
I now find that if I do drink anything it makes me tired and groggy, so i'm not bothered by it.

Has anyone seen "15 Kids And Counting"? I was watching OBEM on 4od last night and came across it, I have to admit it made me feel better about only being on my second Blush
The women on there were having a child near enough every year and still wanted more! I think they deserve some kind of award! Maybe a couple of weeks in another country..
I recommend it for all of you :)

Have been feeling baby move a lot today which has made me very happy, I keep worrying about Tuesday and what the outcome will be, that i've been so relieved all day just to feel it.

How are others doing with their movements? I'm 20+2 and today is the first day that i've actually felt the baby moving properly!

ShellyBobbs · 24/06/2012 19:36

I'm now in a fowl mood, only because I'm tired so have put all lovely smelling fresh sheets on the bed and climbed in it with the laptop so as not to snap at anybody :)

DesperateHousewife21 · 24/06/2012 19:38

shelly at least your daughter text to ask u though and didn't go ahead and drink it anyway!

Passmethecrisps · 24/06/2012 19:51

dh I was thinking the same thing. When they ask you you have nothing to worry about!

Have baked two batches of cookies with the condensed milk. Want to eat them all now.

horseylady · 24/06/2012 20:09

I'm ok tiredness wise!! Did a 32km endurance ride today was brill!! Then wandered round a local country show and bought some cakes!!

I don't can't drink so don't miss it!! I just miss my flat belly :(

horseylady · 24/06/2012 20:19

Oh baby very active! I can see movements in my belly!!! Considering I've done a lot today he's very lively tonight!!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/06/2012 20:33

welcome to capped crusader

I miss pâté too. I don't mis having lots of wine but sometimes I just fancy one. I think lots of shell fish are ok aren't they if they're cooked properly. I think the problem fish are more the mercury ones like shark and fresh tuna.

I am tired today and really feel like I am carrying someone around with me. I attempted a walk around the racecourse this afternoon and I could only do half of it. Now the bottom of my bump aches and I've been lying in bed with an ice cream!

Has anyone else got really obvious veins on their legs? I have some and they look a bit like bruises. This is upsetting as they are the only bit of me that stay acceptable! Sad should Should i be worried, I haven't had this in any of my other pregnancies?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/06/2012 20:35

passmethecrisps how do you make cookies with condensed milk and what is the diff? Are they nicer?

NervousAt20 · 24/06/2012 20:47

I think it's harder to not drink in the summer not like we're having one when the sun is shining and you want to sit in the garden or beer garden and relax with a drink

I am in my own fat little heaven Grin I love samosas at the minute always fancy one so was cooking fijitas tonight with lots of salsa which I LOVE and DP comes home with samosas from this amazing little Indian Resturant near by, they don't even do take away but now hes abit of a regular they just give him what he asks for Grin so I ate both Blush it was the best ever so now have a bar of Choc to watch the rest of the football with

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/06/2012 20:49

I'm sorry capedcrusader.

Ummm samosas!

FatimaLovesBread · 24/06/2012 20:59

Sophia I've got bump ache too. Feels very big and heavy, like I'm carrying it around. And the lower part aches a lot. Dread to think what I'll be like when I'm bigger!

WestWinger · 24/06/2012 21:01

sophia I've got two bad patches of basically black and purple veins on my left leg and another patch that is not as bad. They are thread veins but because they are large patches, they look like huge bruises. I had them in my first pregnancy and they did disappear to some extent afterwards, but not completely. :( A few months of support tights beckons.......

WestWinger · 24/06/2012 21:05

If you put your legs up so they are higher than your heart (a load of pillows under them on the sofa) you should see them reduce in appearance after a few minutes. The more you can put your feet up, the better, but they do need to be higher than your heart. But the minute you stand on them again, they reappear.

kirrinIsland · 24/06/2012 21:21

Welcome cape

I haven't had a drink since I was pregnant with DD 2 years ago and I don't miss it, although I was never a big drinker anyway. I do find myself quite fancying a nice glass of white when the sun is out occasionally but other than that I'm not bothered. The cheeses and the non-runny eggs are much harder!

I am exhausted but I am also very unfit at the moment so perhaps that's why?! I need to start swimming or something or I'm going to be an unfit blob by the time this baby is born probably will be anyway I have already put on more weight than I did in the whole of my last pregnancy :(

capedcrusader25 · 24/06/2012 21:25

Bump ache here too! I think it's this 'round ligament pain' and was causing serious pains when moving in bed, standing up, etc. But it's eased off now :) xx

DesperateHousewife21 · 24/06/2012 21:35

Im going to look into preg yoga, depending on the price. I really need to do something and focus on this pregnancy rather than it being something in the background while looking after ds.

Either that or aqua natal would be good, I don't do much exercise generally so at least I can say I do that!

horseylady · 24/06/2012 21:39

My friend really rated preg yoga. Will try it maybe tomorrow.

I have thread veins too :(

FatimaLovesBread · 24/06/2012 21:42

I wanted to do aquanatal but where I live there's only one pool locally that does it and it's 12:30-13:15 on a Tuesday, so no good if you work Sad

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/06/2012 21:43

thanks everyone, I looked at them tonight and thought " oh no". I think I'll start aquantal, just need to buy a maternity cossie.

YellowWellies · 24/06/2012 22:06

Got a maternity cozzie from my lovely sister but our aquanatal is equally unsuitable for working mums to be - 4pm in Kirkwall (half an hour away) boo. So ordinary swimming and hoping I don't get mistaken for a whale / harpooned it is Blush

MissMummy1 · 24/06/2012 22:16

Just felt my first real 'yep, that's definitely baby movement' tonight in the bath! Totally relieved all my stress from this morning :o

I'm the same re aquanatal classes. I attempted to go to one recently on a day off and it turned out they hadn't been running them there for 2 years!? Think NHS Fife might need to update the info they hand out in their maternity packs... Angry

Edinburgh seem to have a few in the evenings at various pools so might attempt to join one there after my 20 week scan. I'm definitely going to have to cut back on my morning swims as starting to feel really achy and knackered after them - and I'm sure that's what caused this morning's pains.

MissMummy1 · 24/06/2012 22:19

Oh and re maternity cozzies, I just wear a bikini with an old tshirt over it. Same as I wore when I was doing dive training in the pool last winter. Wore a proper swimsuit the other day and it felt so uncomfortable and tight after a while in the pool, despite the fact it fit perfectly.

Passmethecrisps · 24/06/2012 22:20

sophia a couple of tablespoons of condensed milk beaten into the butter and sugar after creaming gives them a lovely chewy texture. I make them all the time with all different flavours.

horsey you are a fitness champion! You will have your flat stomach back in no time I am sure.

mrswee · 25/06/2012 00:31

maternity cozzies on sale in GAP by the way. very nice black one with big white polka dots.
I can't justify it, I have an old cozzy which is normally too big and fits fine in pregnancy!
